  1. This is Outlook Express 6, which was on Office 2003. I love it!! Well, until today.
  2. I went to compact e-mails as I do pretty often on Outlook Express. When I went back into it, ALL of the e-mails I've received since June 9 are GONE!!! Poof. History. Anybody know if there is a way to recover them? I have pictures on some of them that I hadn't put on my computer yet. I'd like to have them back. I tried a system restore to no avail.

    Give Blood.

Thanks for posting this Oscar. I'm a frequent donor and should be eligible by the time the blood drive is at the Legion in Powder Springs. Happy to know there will be one close by. Is this something that there might be a variance for? Several blood disorders have variances and you can donate at the Red Cross and they don't destroy your blood. Not sure if all Red Cross locations have the variances, since they are generally approved by the FDA on a site-to-site basis and not a blanket basis.
  4. canned: figs pepper sauce Plan to freeze or can tomatoes Froze: a few lima beans Gave away or ate: green beans squash Small garden.
  5. That must have happened minutes after I went by. There were two accidents just hours apart there a week or so ago. Hope everyone is OK.
  6. try this: http://www.highlands.edu/ It has information on the classes available in Dallas as well as anything else you would want to know about Ga Highlands. Here is a link to Kennesaw State College: http://www.kennesaw.edu/index.shtml Kennesaw lists less information about the Paulding campus than does Ga Highlands. Apparently that was new student orientation. The city parking lot next to the AT&T building was full when I left work a little before 3.
  7. There was another storm that came through on Monday after Easter. It came through in the morning, around 8 or 8:30. That is the one that damaged our roof. That may have been more wind than hail and it may not have hit New Hope. It sure tore up things around me--must have been a dozen houses in about a 2 mile radius that had roof damage and a tree fell on the house behind me.
  8. I agree with you!! I do have to say that just because a girl leaves the house dressed one way does not mean that is the way she is dressed when she meets up with her friends. Sadly, many parents just don't care how their daughter is dressed. After all, "everyone" dresses that way.
  9. MTs who work for only one medical group or who work with the same speciality all the time can and do get very good at what they do. They can make a little more money than someone who gets a different doctor with each dictation, since pay for an independent MT is based on how many lines you transcribe. Yes, many of the doctors are next to impossible to understand. Yes, you do have to be trained somehow. Yes, few MTs will be needed 5 years from now and even fewer, if any, in 10 years. It is not a career path I would recommend. Fifteen years ago I would have recommended it to anyone.
  10. I certainly do remember. My stepdaughters went every other weekend to visit their mom. She lived on Juniper at 10th. Needless to say, every other weekend I worried myself sick all weekend long.
  11. Consider the $60 a gift to the kids and the price of an education for you.
  12. I was an MT for 17 years. Notice I said "was". There is no way on earth I would go back into that business. Low pay for what you're expected to do and know (average pay has not increased since I left the business in 1994); transition to EMR will make all but the most experienced editors obsolete; cuthroat competition; idiots running many MT services. And then there are the doctors, insurance companies, hospitals and governmental agencies you have to contend with and please. Why pay good money for training for an occupation that will not be needed in the next 5-7 years?
  13. Didn't mean to imply that you did, just that it wouldn't be a good idea to piss one off and banning those might do it. I found this: The U.S. Marines Corps, citing security concerns, has banned Facebook, MySpace and Twitter on its network, and the Pentagon said it is reviewing social-networking sites as it considers setting broader policies on their use. The Marine ban formalizes an existing block on social-networking sites on its government computers, and it does not affect members’ personal use of the sites.
  14. Just between me and you, I don't think it would be a good idea to piss off a Marine. Banning those just might piss one off.
  15. The only bad thing about it is I want to give him a big hug since I haven't seen him in a couple of years. He doesn't have a FB picture either, so I can't see how he's changed since joining the Marines.
  16. I know a couple of people who might take this up when they retire.
  17. I'm on there now trying to chat with my nephew in Iraq. How cool is that??? He's halfway around the world, in a war zone and we're IMing each other. Well darn. He went offline before he could answer. It's still way cool that he's that far away and we *could* IM if he stayed online long enough. I guess I could chat with Madea.
  18. I guess I'm not "everybody" because I have been on several dozen times today without a problem at all.
  19. Who is the sponsor of the concert tour? Metamucil? Aetna? DePuy orthopaedics? My youngest daughter has said for years that her oldest sister's husband looks like Steven Tyler. I don't see it. Tyler is SO much better looking.
  20. A lot depends on where you live. If you live in east Paulding, the one on County Services Road in Marietta would probably be closer. If you live in northern Paulding, the one in Cartersville would be closer. If you live in west Paulding, the one in Carrollton would be closer. Not sure about the closest one if you live in south Paulding. The Marietta location might be closer for that, too. Since not all services are available everywhere, click here to search: http://www.dds.ga.gov/locations/index.aspx
  21. http://westcentraltech.edu/academics/progr...rtificates.html West Central Tech offers a CNA course. Not sure which campus.
  22. Lisa, What about Medix on Windy Hill Road in Smyrna or Everest Institute on Terrell Mill Road in Marietta? My middle daughter is in the medical assisting program at Georgia Medical. You might even check with them.
  23. What kind of association is this? Is it a book club, which would be loosely organized and not likely to be required to do anything legal- or tax-wise? Is it a non-profit? Is it a booster club? Homeowner's association? A support group? One cannot just say "they dont have to file taxes". More information is needed to make that determination.
  24. I would think almost any accountant who prepares tax returns would know about this. Interesting that none are returning your call.
  25. Lisa, You would be GREAT at this!! You have the personality needed to help people. I went to Marietta Cobb Vo-Tech (now Chattachoochee Tech) for medical assisting. You absolutely CANNOT go wrong with them. One thing you need to look at is length of time of the course vs. the quality of the course. I think on both counts Chattachoochee Tech will win out over anywhere else. The course time may be a little longer than some other courses, but you get a *quality* education with skills that are in demand, not just a piece of paper. I have a friend who got her AA in Nursing th
