  1. Before I beat my head against a brick wall in frustration, does anyone know if vanilla beans are available at places like Kroger, Ingles, Publix or Wal-Mart? I want to get some so we can make vanilla bean ice cream this weekend. Also, any real good ice cream recipes that either call for cooked eggs or no eggs at all? My daughter is pregnant and therefore should definitely not eat ice cream made with raw eggs.
  2. That was like finding the needle in the haystack. The info was on the Wellstar website, but you had to dig to find it.
  3. That's really, really pricey. If The Ragsdale Inn is more than she wants to pay, the Ford Center will clear that amount and more.
  4. There are several on the Paulding County parks & recreation website. Hard to believe they would all be booked. Although I CAN believe they might be too expensive. What about the Country Inn and Suites and Holiday Inn Express in Hiram?
  5. There is also the Magnolia House in Powder Springs. Have you tried The Ragsdale Inn? Even if they are booked, Jackie could probably tell you where you could find a facility for that date.
  6. No, not the same bank. This one was located on Cleburne Parkway right behind the new Racetrac station. They had another location or two somewhere but I am not sure where. We dealt with this location (not personally but clients did).
  7. I wish you could have been with us at the beach in May. They had fireworks one night we were there and they were the most spectacular, awe-inspiring fireworks I think I'd ever seen. They were incredible!! I would have loved to have taken pictures of them but walked out of the condo without my camera and didn't want to go back. Thanks for posting the pics. Happy 4th to you.
  8. I had T-Mobile for several years. Great service, great price, hated to leave them. Hubby needed to get cell service and wanted to get a family plan and something where he could make calls to the business with whom he was dealing so we went with AT&T. We get 700 minutes a month (and believe we would use that many and more if it wasn't for the free calls to so many people we call). It is free to call ANY AT&T customer, landline or wireless, if you have AT&T home service associated with the plan. We get rollover minutes and have over 3500 minutes available now. It's roughl
  9. That sounds like Cheatham Hill Community Center. BTW, the place in Hiram is http://www.chene-rouge.com/
  10. I know you said you wanted to rent a place with a kitchen, but have you considered having the shower at a special event location and have them do the food? I can think of three right off the top of my head. Ragsdale Inn (Dallas), Sullivan House (Powder Springs) and that new place in Hiram, L'Chene Rogue or something like that. I'll check the name when I go by there on my way to work. Like someone else said, try the Suntrust in Hiram. Also, Greystone has meeting space, both at the location in Dallas and the one in Douglasville, as does the county--the Chamber of Commerce and the Senior
  11. I bought the book on Friday but haven't even opened it yet.
  12. CHEATHAM HILL COMMUNITY CLUB, 3702 ERNEST BARRETT PKWY, MARIETTA, GA 30064 RED ROCK COMMUNITY CLUBHOUSE, 545 MARS HILL ROAD, POWDER SPRINGS, GA 30127 maybe someone who drives by these can stop and write down the phone numbers for you. They aren't part of the Cobb Parks and Recreation department, so the numbers aren't listed there. You might also try the Ron Anderson Community Center or the George Ford Community Center. Both are in Powder Springs. The Anderson Center is part of the Cobb Parks Dept and is listed under Parks and Recreation at www.cobbcounty.org. The Ford C
  13. Two items I do not allow in my house--acetaminophen (Tylenol) and aspartame (Nutrasweet). Both can cause liver problems as well as other problems if taken in combination with other products. You often don't know these other products are in items which you ingest.
  14. I used to work for Dr. Cabot. Five times, in fact.
  15. He was my first choice for doing the foot surgery. My insurance changed and I had to go to Dr. Bhole. I Dr. Cabot. I've known him for over 30 years.
  16. I was THRILLED with Dr. Bhole. He did two surgeries on my foot. Now, the one I didn't like at all was another one in the practice whose name I can't remember right now. He was rude, uncaring and totally unprofessional. Not to mention slow as Christmas. Then they left me in the room.
  17. Great minds think alike. That was going to be my suggestion, too. But....... no bankruptcy listings!! Foreclosures, though.
  18. If you don't mind driving to Smyrna, I highly recommend Dr. Anthony Cabot 770-436-5484 If you'd rather have someone a little closer, Resurgens. They have multiple offices. Check their website for the phone number and location that you prefer. http://resurgens.com/
  19. I know some of those people! Good photos Martha.
  20. Try Dollar Tree or some of the other "everything's a dollar" stores. Their prices can't be beat on party supplies. I got everything needed for a baby shower--cups, plates, forks, tablecloth, napkins, centerpiece--for about $9.
  21. I've been in that one twice this month. It's much cleaner than most Waffle Houses and especially the last Waffle House I ate at in Paulding County. That place was horrible.
  22. Good crowd there as I passed by a little while ago. Parking lot was almost full.
  23. That's a matter of opinion. I only know of two Waffle Houses where I will eat--both are in Florida, one in Gulf Breeze and the other in Navarre. Daughter worked at four different Huddle Houses and son in law has worked at five or six different Waffle Houses and one Huddle House. SIL said the Huddle House he worked at was far better managed, cleaner, had a higher inspection score and had a better customer base than ANY of the Waffle Houses he worked at.
  24. I just came by there. It's OPEN. About a half dozen cars in the parking lot, too. They must close at 10 on weeknights like the one on Austell Road did.
