  1. The inactivity during the night is why it hurts so much more in the morning. http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/exercises-to-reduce-plantar-fasciitis
  2. Nope, I'm not registered in Georgia. Everything has been moved to Florida. In fact, this is what I get when I try to verify registration Your registration information was not located . . . Interestingly, my husband is still registered in Cobb and here in Florida, as is our daughter and son in law. I had to go round and round with Cobb County court about jury duty. I was called for that several months after we moved. I think we had already sold our house in Cobb County in fact. I guess when I went round and round with the county, they removed my voter registration as well as my e
  3. Partially fill a water bottle, like a 16 oz bottle, and then freeze. Roll your foot over it, particularly before getting out of bed in the morning. Yeah, like Paxil Papa said, exercise works best. Inactivity makes it worse. Good supportive shoes are essential as well. Glad the shot didn't hurt. Of about a dozen or more cortisone shots I have had, the one in my heel hurt the worst.
  4. I got a call from the Georgia Republican Party. I don't live in Georgia any longer and haven't for the past 19 months. I was never a registered Republican in Georgia, as you did not register by party. So why are they calling me in another state? Not like I can vote for any Georgia Republicans. As always, I vote for the candidate and not for the party. Our town mayor and council members and most of the commissioners in our county are not affiliated with any party. I like that.
  5. When did it change in Georgia to where you have to register by party? I thought you were just a registered voter and didn't have to pick a party. It doesn't work for my carrier.
  6. Happened to me a couple of months ago. I'd been getting calls from numbers in the same sequence as mine and then got one from myself. I don't answer the calls, so I have no clue who it really was. I've gotten a lot of calls lately from "out of area". I told them not to call again. After learning that you can sue telemarketers who don't play by the rules, I decided to be nice to them long enough to be able to sue them for a minimum of $500. Naturally, after I downloaded information on how to do it, I haven't gotten anything except election calls. It's almost like the telemark
  7. You mentioned in the original post that he was working. Any possibility that he could transfer to another location? That would certainly help in determining where they should move. And even if there is no possibility of a transfer, jobs that he could do might need to be investigated before deciding where they should go. If there are no available jobs for his job skills, it wouldn't matter where they live. Granted, they do need to get out of where they are but they don't need to jump into a situation just as bad as what they are in now. Good luck.
  8. I would not have been allowed back at physical therapy had I traveled to an area where the virus is present. Or if I had been exposed to it. I was happy to see that the health of not only the employees but the patients at physical therapy is important to the company that owns the facility. Better safe than sorry.
  9. But which night is that going to be held?
  10. I'm busy Thursday. So that doesn't work for me. I vote for Saturday. No, wait, that's college football day. Friday works out the best for me, but whatever everyone else decides let me know. BTW, we passed a sign in town the other day that said "Milton Trick or Treating will be held on Friday October 31". I told him husband that I was almost disappointed we hadn't had the yearly "what day is trick or treating" thread yet on Pcom. So, you people have made my day!!! I'll tell him in the morning that it has been discussed, as it has for many years. Ahhhh
  11. Wow, El Zorro was correct about this. Can't believe I missed it seeing it. Dang. Have to hit up the antique stores in town.
  12. I'm pretty sure I read on the Internet, where anything you read is absolutely the truth, that it was Pubby. OK, maybe not. Maybe I thought it said Pubby. Was it Richard Gere?
  13. Wonder if it is bound for the Hyundai plant near Montgomery. I also wonder if that is just PART of the machine. I'd love to see it, whatever it is. Not that often you get to see a couple of billion dollars rolling down the highway either.
  14. Geez. Shouldn't be too difficult to ID him with that jacket on.
  15. Hmmm. Sounds like they had an accident, perhaps one involving a pedestrian, where the driver was going too fast. We had a pedestrian get killed just a couple of weeks ago, right here at my subdivision, where the road to our subdivision comes into a four lane road. For several days after that, the state troopers sat at the top of the hill in view of the area where the accident occurred in an effort to slow down the cars. The car that hit the guy here, who was a neighbor and lived within sight of where he got hit, was reportedly doing about 5 miles above the speed limit at most.
  16. I love that line from "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly"--when you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk. That Tuco, he had a sense of humor, didn't he? Would that be "2001: A Space Odyssey"?
  17. I know Springville has been around many, many years. They may have something, even though they are in Powder Springs. And the Hiram lodge may be helpful if not with the information but pointing you in the right direction. Many of the families who had members in either Dallas, Powder Springs or Hiram were related. What a wonderful project you're doing.
  18. The Man of a Thousand Faces. Not sure but Lon Chaney maybe?
  19. America's Sweetheart. Wasn't that Mary Pickford? The Sheik. Rudolph Valentino?
  20. If the good hard working people were actually doing the jobs they were paid to do, Thad and Melissa would still be in their house and the lawsuit would have been unnecessary. Those "good hard working people" would have done what was right instead of what made them rich.
  21. Most people don't until they have seen it for themselves. They believe in the good of people who are supposed to be there to help you. I did as well until it became impossible to convince myself, an eternal optimist and one who likes to see the good in people, that there is a whole industry out there who wants nothing more than to screw you over and take your money. The BOC in Paulding is just the tip of the iceberg. I've had personal dealings in real estate in four counties in two states. One is no better than the other. The only thing I can definitely say about the differences is at le
  22. Here is what I said: the entire real estate industry is corrupt, from the commissioners on down to the real estate agents, brokers, closing attorneys, etc. .......... and Not just in Paulding, not just in Cobb, not just in Georgia but apparently everywhere. That means, nowhere is immune to the corruption. It's not county or state specific. There are honest people in all of those positions.
  23. Exactly right. Not all attorneys are corrupt, just like not all politicians are corrupt. I really do count some real estate agents among my best friends. Does not mean I'd trust them any further than I could throw them. It's a corrupt industry. And the bad thing is the ones I know are really good, honest seeming people who work in a corrupt industry. Took me a long time to open my eyes to the corruption. It's rampant and not relegated to one single place.
  24. There are exceptions to everything but unfortunately, they are few and far between. Fortunately, I have had little contact with attorneys of any type in Cobb County. All of my real estate closings took place elsewhere, about half of them in Douglas County and the other half in Paulding. YMMV
