Teen asks man if he has a gun before punching him in the Face

If you're looking to attack someone, you don't want someone who might fight back. Crooks are stupid but most are smart enough to figure that out. -

Somebody Needs to Pay for My 15 Kids and Be Held Accountable...

Our peppers did much better than the tomatoes. They didn't seem to have a lot of heat in them considering they were jalapenos and cayennes. We ate as many as we wanted. Just didn't put any pepper sauce up like my hubby wanted to do. They still had peppers on them when hubby pulled them up. He just didn't want to mess with them anymore if they weren't going to be very hot. Our squash did good for about three weeks and then suddenly the squash themselves died. The watermelons did good, put on melons but then the melons died. We have to fight squirrels for everything here and we wond -

There's a gentleman just about a mile or so from us who has a rather large garden. I'd say 2 acres or better. He has already taken down his tomatoes, corn and something else (it was in the back and more difficult to see but I think it was okra). He irrigates, as does virtually everyone here. Nobody around has had good luck with a garden this year. We have talked to long time residents and they all say they have had the same problem this year. Heat, humidity and blazing sun just can't be counteracted by irrigating. Not when the water runs through the soil like it does here. We have simp -

We watered ours every day, too. Everyone around here has some sort of irrigation--wells mostly. The heat and dry air seemed to have gotten ours more than lack of water. Peppers did somewhat better than the tomatoes, too. -

We've seen a lot of home gardens in the area that have just simply died. Of course, our weather has been really strange this year. Ice storm in late January, flood in April and since the first of July really hot and humid but little rain. Usually we get afternoon showers. Not so this summer. I haven't been able to go to the produce stand to see what price they are getting for tomatoes. Maybe I can do that in the next day or two. I'd love some fresh tomatoes. -
Not all that strange really. I know several couples who are not friends on FB. Most couples are, but for sure some aren't. Not everyone feels it is necessary. And not everyone wants their spouse to know what they do online even if they aren't doing anything wrong. Some people use it strictly to keep up with family and friends and keep family and friends informed. Their spouse would already know what was going on. My former next door neighbors are both on FB but aren't friends. They use it for different things.

I truly know what you mean. It's her choice at this point where she goes and what she does. Doesn't mean you won't worry about her and want her to be able to come to you and ask for help. But Stradial said it right above. At some point she may truly grow up and learn that she needs help for others, including mom. Once she humbles herself enough to say "hey, I screwed up but I need help" and she shows that she has been humbled by the experience, then you help. It's not being cold hearted or mean to her. It's letting her make her own decisions and living with the consequences of thos

I don't find $15 a hour and up "sweat box labor". Quite a few of our new jobs in this area pay that. Even entry level in many fields in this area pay $10 and up even to someone with no experience. Our economy is growing, unlike that of metro Atlanta. Almost weekly there is a new large employer coming to the area. And many of those employers are foreign companies while the rest are relocating from less desirable areas of the US. We have a huge number of employable people, many ex-military. And a darn low unemployment rate. -

Not really anything to be admired. We had to move from our two story home and realized that we would be happier out of the Atlanta area even though that is where we grew up and where almost all of our families and friends remain. It was tough to do, physically and emotionally. I had to leave behind a business that was not just thriving but growing. That in itself was tough to do. Much like my recent, and again soon, knee replacement surgery, it was something that had to be done and it got done. -

Who says I want Medicaid? I merely want what was promised--affordable health insurance. I prefer not to have to deal with Medicaid and will only go that route as a last resort and that would be if I had no other choice. I hate Medicaid. I know how most Medicaid patients are treated. I'd love some 'maters. I guess I need to stop at the produce stand on my way to the florist. -

I have a lot of month left over at the money. Money is already gone and it's still 3 weeks until there will be more. I'm pretty sure we will have to eat before then. Our tomatoes died from the heat, even though they were watered every day. The upper 90 degree temperatures and dry winds just did a number on them. We got a few but the heat came at the wrong time for us. We got quite a few peppers but didn't get to put any up. Hubby was too busy taking care of me to take care of the peppers, too. -

I'm certainly someone to be envious of right now. Owing money I don't have for surgery I couldn't afford not to have and scheduled for another round of it. Yeah, everyone should be envious of that. -

I wish I had money then maybe I'd know what it says. All mine ever says is "bye". Too much month left at the end of the money. -

Good for you saying no to her request for money. I know that was tough to do (been there, done that). I also know your heart is breaking over this. Continuing to send prayers and good thoughts your way. Keep up the good work. It really is the best way to deal with this, even as painful and difficult as it is. Hugs to you.

Here where I live we would be telling you there is nothing available. We would be helping you find something. But if Pensacola is too far from Alabama or Mississippi, it won't work. Rail service, interstates, international airport, plenty of workers. Oh well. -

Look at the Florida panhandle. We will welcome them with open arms. Seriously. -
Robbery was the motive for the beating and robbery of the man on the trail near Powder Springs several years ago. Some people DO carry more than their phones. There are vending machines at several locations, plus in Rockmart there are restaurants so some people would have *some* money on them if no more than a couple of bucks to get a drink. Hubby has been "propositioned" before on the trail. Even if the intent was not robbery, he felt uncomfortable being approached as he knew the person had seen him arrive and watched him as he rode off. All anyone had to do was wait for him to ret

Fortunately child support is not based on the income of the custodial parent. The really sad thing is that all a non-custodial parent who doesn't want to pay child support has to do is fake their income and they are given a free pass. They may have a six figure income while the custodial parent makes minimum wage but if they can show they don't have enough to make ends meet, they aren't required to pay. In the case of the man in Henry County, if the younger child does not live with him, he should pay child support for that child. Period end of story. Does not matter if the older chil -
Just from what little I have read about it, that seems to be the case. I just hope she did like the lady who was murdered on the trail and grabbed enough DNA evidence to get a conviction.

No, all you have to do is pretend that you don't have the money and you get a free pass. -
The Walker School is private. They likely don't pay employees for the summer. The public school systems do, especially the bus drivers. It's not what they make during the school year but they do get paid. At least this is what my school bus driver friends and family have told me.
