Cops shoot 12 year old for bringing a toy gun to playground.

I think you're on to something there, too. Most of the exposure kids have to real criminals and prison is what they see on TV shows and video games where the bad guy wins and the good guy loses. -
Just got a call for each of us from our PCP recommending a flu shot. I've had mine already, though not at the PCPs office. Hubby says he needs to get one, too. He said if for no other reason than to let Medicare know he is still alive.

I'm out of "likes" for the day so I'll just say -
You got rid of the truck?

that happened to my dad one time. Scary, even for him, a man who had survived being on a ship that sank during World War II. Glad you're OK, Pat.

Cops shoot 12 year old for bringing a toy gun to playground.

Actually, it was 126 law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty, or a job related condition, in 2012. Fifty (50) of those involved firearms. Forty-nine (49) of them involved vehicles. Of those 50 firearm deaths, 2 were accidental. Of the 49 vehicle deaths, 11 of them were assaults and 5 of them were while in pursuit. If the cops are shooting, it's most likely because they fear for their lives. And who can blame them. Even street gangs seem to have more fire power than a lot of police departments. -

If the caller was so sure the gun was fake, why not ask him about it? And yes, the cop was doing his job. He was protecting and serving the citizens from what he was TOLD was an armed person. Had the person who called 911 asked the kid about the "gun" instead of making an assumption based on fear, that kid would still be alive. -

No, but I did read where someone was quoted as saying "it's probably fake but he's scaring the sh** out of everyone". So, did NOBODY think to talk to this kid and ask him to give up the toy gun before calling 911? I hold the person who called 911 as much, if not more, responsible for the way this went than I do the police officer. The police officer was doing what he/she was trained to do. -

What scared-to-death-of-firearms idiot called the cops for a KID on a playground with a toy gun? -
My husband won't. And he's had the flu!!!! You'd think he would want to do anything to keep from going through that again. On a side note, I got the shingles shot today and so far my arm feels fine. Not sore in the least. Well, the one I got the shot in isn't sore. The other one hurts like an SOB right now. Something tells me that cortisone shot in the shoulder didn't help.

No, but there is no choice of doctors either. I so dislike the term "consultant" when speaking of a medical professional. If they actually knew about the condition they were being consulted for, it would be nice.

I had an orthopaedist that I absolutely adored. He had given me six injections in my knees. I found out AFTER we discussed and tentatively planned knee replacement surgery that he was not in-network. He's 3 miles from my house. The other one in town who is in-network only did surgery at the local hospital which I refused to have surgery in. Prior to surgery, I had to be on an antibiotic for five days. I had them call it in to Walgreen's which is probably the easiest to get to drug store. I went to pick it up and they said "we're not in-network with your insurance". I understand yo

This dear, sweet little lady from the church we used go to was on blood thinners. I swear she was cold when it was 95 degrees outside. I can certainly sympathize with you though. I hate being cold. If it were 54 here I might have the heat on, too. Our high Tuesday is supposed to be 58. We will definitely be running the heat tomorrow night. Hope you get yours taken care of and get warm.

What's the temperature there?

That sucks. The insurance company, that is. I was actually shocked that mine said not until 65 unless I had a reason for getting one. We priced them last year. Mine was going to be $219 because I had not met my deductible yet. Hubby's was going to be $199 with his Medicare. We said "nope". I'd met my deductible earlier in the year, by leaps and bounds, and thought I'd check it. That is when CVS said it would be zero co-pay but I had to have a documented reason for getting one. If the insurance company won't accept what the doctor gave them, we will try something else as the reaso

You might want to have the pharmacy where you'll get the shot check with your insurance company about the shingles shot. My insurance would not pay for it before I was 65 except in the case of a documented medical need. I had to get a prescription that stated the reason I needed the shot before I turn 65 (I'm not yet 60). I got the shot about an hour and a half ago. If my insurance company won't accept "preventive care" for the reason, I can give them two others. They are called new knees.

I adore Ryan. I forgot about him, though. Sorry Ryan. You can tease me about that all you want.

As for accountant, I highly recommend Tina Drummond, our own Barbed Wire. She's in the complex at the corner of Macland and Dallas Highway. 770-505-0370

Best to use it as directed for the area where you have pain. Glad it helped you. I've considered getting one but since I saw no difference when they used it at PT I was reluctant to get one.

I got a flu shot over a month ago. Shoulder was already hurting so I can't say that the shot made my arm hurt worse. On my way in a little bit to get my shingles shot. Not getting it in the arm where the shoulder already hurts.
-
They used one on me after PT. I couldn't tell a difference. Hubby used one years ago and couldn't tell a difference either.

I worked with a woman earlier this year who was on gabapentin. She had to wait until she was at work to take it. She could function after taking it, just not drive very well. I could tell when she took it because her body motion and facial expressions changed.

Basically the same thing. Location may be different but medication used and technique should be the same.

Almost 6500 a DAY go to the ER due to injuries sustained in motor vehicle accidents. And yet guns are somehow worse?
