  1. Just ask anyone on here and they will tell you there are no jobs in Paulding. I know some of the restaurants are hiring and they generally don't require experience. He can check with them. Someone else mentioned specific ones but without doing a search for the thread, I have no idea which ones they are. Good luck to him!
  2. I look around and see failing businesses, failing marriages, major illnesses, foreclosed houses, repossessed cars, unemployment and depression. I know several couples who would be much better off getting divorced but neither spouse can afford to pay for it OR to support themselves (and the children) if they did. I have two friends undergoing cancer treatment. One friend who lost a home to foreclosure. Son in law is driving a taxi for a living and barely making ends meet. If it weren't for our limited help, they would be on the streets. I have a friend whose daughte

    Siren?

It depends on how close you are to the siren. We get blasted by them, but there is one on top of the hill from us. We can hear the ones in Lithia Springs, Powder Springs and Austell, but those are generally faint.
  4. Heck no. In fact, probably still have the ceiling fan on medium. I kinda look at my hot flashes and my now hot nature as payback for all those times in the years past that my hubby would turn the a/c cold, turn the ceiling fan on high and then proceed to fall fast asleep on top of the covers. Now I freeze him out.
  5. Intuit offers several different levels of QuickBooks training, too. The certified user course is really, really helpful if you're somewhat familiar with the program already. I've taken that and one online at Chattahoochee Tech. Still tossing around the idea of becoming a certified adviser.
  6. :good: I miss Fire Mountain. But I'd love a seafood buffet.
  7. Is that where Fire Mountain used to be? Really would LOVE some seafood and a buffet fits in well with my appetite for seafood.
  8. It's so nice to see people who are happily married. I'd hate to think hubby and I were the only ones, other than Riley's Auto Detailing and DeeWee, that is.
  9. You'd be surprised. Most of the commerce members are small businesses. Trust me on that. There are a few, as you say "decent" sized businesses but they generally also run ads and some of those can be rather expensive. I think Pubby is very willing to work with people who want to be members. I know he sure seems flexible.
  10. I think "artist" is a pretty wide description. Believe me, the commerce membership isn't too cheap for small businesses. It's about right.
  11. Thanks for clearing that up, LPPT. Pubby and I had discussed this recently but I didn't know how to explain it to others.
  12. You're right--it is for artists or crafters whose business is seasonal, such as those who sell Christmas items. A Commerce membership is $149.95 a year and a great deal. I believe Pubby also offers quarterly memberships, though they aren't listed. You would have to PM him for that.
  13. There are others available. I believe that one is for people who don't want to commit to a year, much like the short term personal memberships.
  14. try this: http://paulding.com/forum/index.php/store/ You can also PM Pubby or LPPT. They can help you.
  15. Not really. Hubby got a burn to his face one time because he fell on the hood of the car. Long story, but he got knocked out (not by me, BTW), fell on the hood of the car and got burned a little before I managed to haul his 250 pounds off the car BY MYSELF. He was out cold. And it wasn't a fight either. He hit his head on the garage door.
  16. Well, he was having sex in the daytime. That must mean he's a pervert.
  17. I think that's Dennis Connally, a CPA. BTW, if you can do an online class without an instructor, Intuit has training available on their website. It's comparable in price to what you pay at Chattahoochee Tech, or was the last time I checked it.
  18. Check at Chattahoochee Tech. They used to offer them. I haven't checked in a long, long time so they may have stopped. That's where I took my class, back in 2004 or 2005.
  19. Then you DEFINITELY want Hand Me Ups. http://hand-me-ups.com/ It has been quite some time since I took anything there but they are really great. Check the website because it gives information about consignments. Through the years, I have bought a LOT of stuff there. Probably twice as much as I have in thrift stores. Depending on the item, it may be a good deal more expensive than thrift stores, but if you're wanting to sell things instead of buy, that wouldn't be an issue.
  20. Hand Me Ups in downtown Powder Springs. Take 278 to Richard Sailors Parkway, left on Richard Sailors to New Macland. Left on New Macland and then left at the traffic light. About 3/4 to 1 mile on the right, across from The Bookworm. Park behind the store and walk in the back.
  21. Home Depot in Powder Springs has moving supplies. Don't know about the one in Hiram. Also, consider liquor boxes for the less important things. Be sure to wrap them securely in newspaper and then tape them with packaging tape, both the wrapped items and the boxes. I still have boxes stored that I got ready to move.
  22. I wouldn't last a week. I'd be suspended the second day and expelled the third. Never mind diagnosing me as ADD or ADHD. They would simply kick me out. I think the majority of the rules in school today are asinine and quite simply harmful to the kids.
  23. We got just the sink base cabinet and a one drawer cabinet for MAYBE $150. Very impressed with the quality, too. I'd love to do my entire kitchen in cabinets from Lowe's. And $2000 isn't bad. My kitchen is roughly 10 x 10. I'd want it pretty much like it is now, too. Well, I do want one of those appliance corrals and the slide out drawers in the lower cabinets. Otherwise, I want the same layout I have. Just new cabinets since these are 36 years old.
