Wow. Who knew that business listings proliferate on the Internet like rabbits? I have now spent more than an hour trying to get listings removed for a business that closed a year ago! Almost all of them have told me they can't remove the listing because they have the right to post it. I'm not disputing that fact. They do have the right to post it. I AM disputing the fact that they have any right to post incorrect information, information on a closed business AND MY PERSONAL ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER! Guess I'll check again in a week or so and see if any of the listings are gone.

We use them and love them! The people at the Dallas office are really, really nice, too. It was our first experience with a credit union. Their procedure for deposits is a little different but that really has no effect on the experience. We switched because we (mostly ME) absolutely hated Wachovia. Once I found out how much more we could be earning at the credit union, we switched immediately. I do online bill pay with them, too. Love it!

or else you might still be trying to get to the store!

I can't take medicine without having all the side effects.

The Prevacid would only prevent, or lessen, stomach symptoms. The probiotic will prevent or lessen, well, other problems that can occur when females take antibiotics. -

agree about the probiotic. Or eat a cup of yogurt every day. Also be aware that the Biaxin will leave a horrible taste in your mouth. You might want to stock up on mints. My former boss and I agree that the taste the Biaxin leaves is akin to licking a tin roof. YUCK! But the mints will help a lot with that. As soon as you go off the meds, the taste should clear up. -

I provided her with the Paulding DFCS number. They should be able to help her, if she can get anyone on the phone.

An OB-GYN would not need verification of your son's citizenship for Medicaid. Medicaid might need it, but not a doctor. Was this the doctor who delivered your son? And how old is your son? Is he on Peachcare or Medicaid?

Make sure you are calling the state agency and not an OB-GYN clinic. Here's the number for Paulding DFCS. 770) 443-7810

I think this just brings to light how tolerant we are about crimes against children. Crimes against children are not typically prosecuted as aggressively as crimes against adults and in a lot of cases not as aggressively as substance use offenses like drug use or DUI or even animal abuse. Not only that, sentences imposed by judges and juries are not typically as harsh when the crime was committed against a child. All we have to do is look around at any number of child molestation or child murder cases to see that is the case. Personally, I believe child molesters should be sentenced t

A couple of years ago I was heading up 278 from Bankhead Highway, just as it changes from Douglas County to Cobb/Austell. Austell PD was out there near the traffic light and then pulling over everyone who crossed the gore. I think they had all the police cars out there pulling people over!

My "baby" is 31, so no diapers to change. Hubby takes care of mopping the floors equally with me. BTW, it was a slow weekend.

Noooooooooo,I am NOT the one who said the police and DA did everything they could. I said one scenario was that the police conducted an excellent investigation and the DA chose for whatever reason not to prosecute. I also said that another scenario was that the police did a sorry job of investigating then didn't present a good enough case for a prosecution. I also said that perhaps the reason the DA chose not to prosecute if there was a lack of evidence to get a conviction, it was possible (not likely) that Sandusky was innocent. I felt from day one of hearing about this that the poli

so "they" did nothing about *most* of the reports. Still, to read this thread you would think nothing was done about any of them, Paterno is a worse person than Sandusky and that the police and the DA did everything they could.

Again, and I'll type this slowly for your benefit, to read this thread you would think nothing was EVER done about any of the reports. Have I read the Grand Jury presentment? Only parts of it. I have better things to do to occupy my time than to concern myself with something that happened in another state. Something over which I had no control and something that does not have an impact upon my life. I save my meaningful time for things that are meaningful to ME, namely my family.

I couldn't agree more. And I ask this seriously: is there a statute of limitations on filing charges against either a molester or someone who had knowledge but didn't report it?
-
When it was reported, as it apparently was, the police should have done a thorough investigation, leaving no stone unturned and then report those findings to the DA for prosecution. One of several things happened AFTER it was reported to the police. #1--the police did a sorry job of investigating it and did not gather enough evidence that the DA thought he could get a conviction. #2--the police did an outstanding job of investigating it, failed to provide proof that the DA might get a conviction. #3--the police provided enough evidence that a conviction was likely but the DA looke

Yes, and it appears the "witness" reported it.

since when are witnesses prosecuted? Jeez, no wonder "I didn't see anything" is so popular.

Yep. The DA declined to prosecute. Per the article in your link: The Penn State police did investigate a complaint in 1998 about Jerry Sandusky, the former assistant coach who was charged last week with sexually abusing eight boys, and turned it over to the district attorney, who declined to prosecute. And I replied: It wouldn't matter one iota if the version told by Paterno to police was he thought the man said something inappropriate to a boy. It should have been investigated thoroughly and if the allegations were true as to what he did, he should have been prosecuted BY THE DA!
-
I'm sorry. The POLICE did everything they could and the man was still allowed to be free and preying on young boys. For, what, ten years???? NOTHING was done other than an investigation that went nowhere. Why can't YOU see that it was not in Paterno's power to see that it was investigated properly and Sandusky was prosecuted properly. THAT was in the power granted to the police and the DA. For whatever reason, THEY turned their heads or did a half ass job of taking care of what was obviously a legitimate complaint. It wouldn't matter one iota if the version told by

He shouldn't have HAD to do a damn thing more than report it to the police. I'm sure if he had gone public with the information, it could have well jeopardized any investigation he *thought* was going to be made. But bottom line is he should not have had to do more than he did, which was report it to what should have been the proper authorities. The police department dropped the ball. I think the whole lot of THEM should be fired.

Yep, the police did nothing to prosecute. Not difficult to understand. would privacy laws restrict that?
