  1. Hubby and I were standing in line waiting to pay for an inversion table. We decided that we were willing to pay more just to not have to go on Black Friday or the next day. So we went today. It was still on sale, but $10 more than last weekend. Anyway, this woman taps me on the shoulder and asks if I'm spending $100 or more and handed me a coupon for $10 off. Turned out it was $10 off on any purchase over $50, so we did fine with that. Anyway, got the $10 off AND a $5 gift card at the register! Ended up being $5 less than it would have been last weekend and we didn't have to deal with t
  2. The reason many rape victims IN THIS COUNTRY don't come forward is they feel like they will be blamed for the rape (by the way they dressed, where they were, etc). And often the courts make victims out of them all over again!
  3. I was feeling particularly feisty that day. I keep getting e-mails telling me my direct deposit has been denied. I would think so since the last direct deposit I got was well over a year ago!
  4. I've gotten a lot of them. I did decide to respond to one of them. Here are my answers, taken directly from the e-mail I sent to them. Sure not a problem. Here are my answers: * Username: .....ARE YOU INSANE?????................... * Password: .JUMP IN THE LAKE....................... * Date of Birth: ..NOT YESTERDAY FOR SURE................. * Country Or Territory: .SMARTVILLE........... I might add I got these e-mails to my AT&T (bellsouth.net) e-mail addy, my yahoo e-mail addy and my AOL e-mail addy.
  5. Exactly! That's why none of us ever intend to lie to them about the boys, even if it were easier to never mention them. They did live for a short time and will always live in our hearts.
  6. I think perhaps next year on this date, it would be good for my daughter and son in law to take the girls and visit their brothers graves and their grandmother's grave (not that far apart). Help put flowers on the graves and give them a chance to ask questions if they are curious. They may not be. They may just think it's a pretty place with flowers. And that would be fine. Bless you denisedaisy33. I can't imagine losing three.
  7. They know that the girls will eventually question about their other grandmother who passed away in 2006. There are pictures of her. No pictures of the boys to share. We do have one picture of each but they are certainly nothing to show little kids. Heck, I don't even like looking at them. I'm sure the questions will come up about when they will get to meet their brothers. My daughter and her husband have no plans to ever lie to the girls about their brothers but they also don't want to wait until they are faced with the question "what happened to my brother?". The girls have a tenden
  8. With today being the tenth anniversary of the birth of my grandsons, with the anniversaries of their deaths coming in the next few days, my daughter, her husband, my husband and I have been mulling over when is the time to tell the little sisters about their big brothers. Starr will be 4 at the end of May and seems to understand a good deal, asks a ton of questions (at that age). Drusilla will be 2 at the end of January and seems pretty advanced for a not-quite 2 year old. We're quite sure that neither has a concept of "death" or why someone isn't here. My daughter and I were discu
  9. Yes, it's a law. Here's a link to the Georgia information: http://medicalboard.georgia.gov/portal/site/GCMB/menuitem.e429305ad2099d1d6eff626ed03036a0/?vgnextoid=9d941ec599906210VgnVCM100000bf01020aRCRD&vgnextchannel=efd11ec599906210VgnVCM100000bf01020aRCRD But I agree with you. They SHOULD belong to the patient. They don't. And it certainly is in the patients best interest to have those records, or actually a copy of the records as the patient cannot "own" the original. I've found a number of mistakes on my records. I probably have a better grasp of medical terminology than 90%
  10. Actually, medical records are the property of the preparer not the patient. In fact, many medical offices, labs, hospitals, etc will not release records they have received from another provider. Many will but many won't. I personally don't believe a records database would help in situations like this. I've seen some pretty possessive doctors out there who won't release anything about a patient, even to another doctor. I have been fortunate these last 20 years in that every doctor or lab or hospital I have asked for a copy of my records has complied. I've had to pay for a few of t

  12. Hopefully I won't need anyone again EVER but if I do, I'll keep you in mind.
  13. I have one: Garnier Moisture Rescue moisturizer. I love it! I'm not much into "beauty" products but that is one I use whether or not I use makeup.
  14. Where were you a month ago when I was looking for this type of service? At least I got my work done at a reasonable price. Wish it had been a Pcommer, though.
  15. Congratulations to her!! That's awesome.
  16. WOW!! 10 months? Did she do it from start to finish in ten months or did she have some credits already?
  17. A friend's nephew graduated from GSU with a degree in Sports Management. He is working currently with a corporate event planning company.
  18. I talked to a mod and asked that the poll be closed since, as Boss Hogg said, it was two months old. Ivylove, I've been there where you are about the medical records. My long time doctor retired in 1980 and the doctor who purchased the practice destroyed all the records. Never made an attempt to contact the patients. I started getting copies of my records at that time. Even though I can't get actual xrays or mammograms, I can get the reports on them. You'd also be surprised how often there is a mistake in the record and this could come back to bite you in the butt.
  19. Really? EVERY course was based on Christianity? Even the business classes? I looked at the degree completion plan and saw THREE "Christian" classes. That is one reason, Liberty was on my short list of schools. It's "Christian" without being overbearingly so. For those interested, here is the degree completion plan for the Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. http://www.luonline.com/media/9932/BS_Business%20General%202011.pdf
  20. I have a friend who got a Bachelors through the University of Alabama (yes, THAT University of Alabama). I don't remember exactly how it worked but she did have to make visits to the campus but I think she said once a quarter. I haven't talked to her about it in a while but the last we talked, she was going for her Masters through Alabama, too.
  21. I've considered doing that myself since I have a lot of supplies left from when I was doing gift baskets. Just wish I knew what they liked.
  22. I just may have to get something from there, even if it isn't for every client I'm buying for. The cause is near and dear to my heart.
  23. One of my clients spends a lot of time in their RV. I found a motor home survival soup kit at Sams! That just might be the thing for that client. But I also would like to get her wonderful, sweet office manager something as well. Maybe something that the office manager and her hubby can use together. C'mon people who know who I'm talking about. Give me some ideas!
