I asked if an uncontested divorce in which children are involved is possible because I know parenting classes and a parenting plan are required if you're divorcing in Cobb. I assume it is that way everywhere. I also expect that a do-it-yourself, uncontested divorce is not possible if you have children.

That sounds like something my mother would say. "Well, if you weren't out at 1:30 in the morning in THAT area, you wouldn't have gotten into trouble".

nothing regarding prostitution surprises me anymore. Not after a friend who was in that business shared goings-on from 30 years ago. Vinings is NOT the area around the E/W Connector or down Cooper Lake Rd. Vinings is the area down by the river. My dad was from Vinings, not Smyrna and not Mableton. Austell, like most other cities, has problems. The flood really, really did a number on the place. Hard to revitalize deserted, flooded out houses or the subdivisions they sit in. My sister in law lived in Shannon Green. This was back in the mid-1970s and her house cost we

Hey now!! I own a house in Austell proper and my daughter lives there. Other than the murder across the railroad tracks from her, it seems fairly safe. It's really the areas around Six Flags and Cobb General that are the worst in "Austell". You're right about the increase in crime in these parts since the demise of the Courts.

If children are involved, can you do the uncontested divorce?
-
Yeah, I know what you mean. Double shooting, at least one person murdered, in sight of my daughter's house.

We turned our heat on last Thursday. It didn't work. Fortunately, hubby was able to fix it for under $50, including the filter.

thanks for posting the link. Interesting reading.

We're almost neighbors then. I live maybe two miles up Hiram Lithia from them and my daughter lives on Humphries Hill. That explains *that* house with the crime scene tape. I still wonder about the other one in Austell. It *wasn't* part of the stolen items thing.

:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: Now, if we can get Pubby on the mend, too. Glad to have you back JJ. We missed you. A lot.

It's possible but I thought that house was a little closer to Austell. If anyone can come up with a link to the story with their name or address, I can tell you if that's the house.

you deserve a raise! Did I say that out loud?
-
Well, he WAS conducting business this morning so my guess is he's not resting. He BETTER rest and get back to the office. It was far, far too quiet today.
-
Hope the Pubster is doing better this evening. Give him my regards.

There used to be a ... um, house of ill repute, in the subdivision across and slightly up the street from there. That was YEARS ago though. I'd love to know about the house the OP posted about. I pass by there once or twice a week and have wondered.
-
We wondered about that as well. Not sure it is crime scene tape, though. I think it might be "caution" tape. Perhaps there was a fire there. You can't see the house well enough to tell, though. I know the lot next door was supposed to have been foreclosed on earlier in the year. And no, it isn't Halloween decoration. I know that for a fact.

Hubby and I had the flu at the same time back about 1989 or 1990. Our then 9 or 10 year old daughter took care of US and herself. We could barely get out of bed to go to the bathroom. One year, about 1997 or 1998, I had the flu AND bronchitis (I said earlier pneumonia but it wasn't). I was absolutely miserable. And it was Thanksgiving. I couldn't even eat Thanksgiving dinner, much less cook it. If you've ever had the flu, you know it is vastly different than a bad cold or even pneumonia.
-
do you have allergies? Perhaps to chicken or eggs? Often allergies will show up after getting a flu shot. The flu vaccine is not a live virus and cannot make one ill. However, the ingredients can make you sick if you're allergic to them. Been there, done that. Believe me, what you had more than likely did not compare to the flu. I've had the flu, several times, and I got sick after taking a flu shot once. Completely different feeling.
-
Not true. The culture medium MAY contain aborted fetuses but that's it. The vaccine itself does not. Even if it did, would a great use for something that would otherwise be tossed in the garbage.
-
My only "side effect" was a slightly sore upper arm that night. Otherwise, I've been fine and it's been more than a month since I got the shot.
-
I had always gotten one until about 1997 or 1998 when I got the flu. And pneumonia. At Thanksgiving. So I went back to getting the shot. Already had mine this year.

My youngest had complications in pregnancy #1 which resulted in losing both babies. NOT because she got to the hospital late, though. It was just a pregnancy complication. Therefore, with pregnancies #2 and #3 she was advised by her doctor to call 911 instead of trying to have hubby (or me) drive her. With #3, she was already at the hospital by the time I got to her house to get her 20 month old. I then dropped her hubby at the hospital. But because of pregnancy #1, the doctor gave her a plan of action for the other pregnancies.

If I get a break between clients and helping hubby with our floor, I'll help. Can't promise anything though. Have to get the floor taken care of before the cold hits at the end of the week.

THANK YOU Steven!! You rock, man!

Here's some positive news. Well, it makes many of us positive that we aren't just imagining things: According to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, over 15 million Americans remain unemployed; at least three million of which are over the age of 50. Perhaps even more disturbing, the average duration of unemployment for these older workers is one year. This is longer than the length of unemployment for any other demographic. Is age discrimination against baby boomer job seekers (those born between 1946 and 1964) a factor in their lingering unemployment? Quite possibly so,
