  1. That was the Sexiest Turtleneck I have ever seen in my life. Those tight black pants really set the whole look. Have. Mercy.
  2. That was great, I'm going to pass that around on facebook
  3. You are correct. The nurse who committed suicide was the first person the DJs got on the phone, and she answered the phone because for some reason a receptionist or switchboard person was not available. She then passed the call through to the ward nurse on the floor where Kate was being treated. This second nurse was actually the one who gave out information on Kate's condition. She also was an unwitting victim of the DJs' trickery. In the US, if someone who is not the patient calls a medical office (hospital, etc) they must provide to whomever answers the phone multiple "identifying info
  4. The DJs misrepresented themselves as immediate family in order to get information or contact that they were not legally entitled to. That was fraudulent behavior. I have been a medical biller for over 25 years, and the party who is trying to get confidential information through deliberate and deceptive means is also guilty. These nurses (both who were pranked) did violate patient privacy, but did so unwittingly with no malice or intended neglect of duty. If they were aware or suspicious that they were not talking to legitimate immediate family and still gave out the info, then they are guilty.
  5. Not all Brits are "born followers." There are many who are very much against the Monarchy. These 2 asshat DJs' violated Duchess Kate's medical privacy, which is against the law in England and in Australia, as it is in the US. It makes no difference if it was a Royal whose medical privacy was invaded or not, they have the same medical privacy rights as regular private citizens. Jacintha Saldanha, like any other person working in the healthcare industry, could have easily lost her job over this. This poor woman, who yes, unbeknownst to the DJs was apparently already suffering from depr
  6. The DJs' called the hospital where Duchess Kate was being treated, and pretended to be The Queen & Prince Charles, duping the nursing staff into giving them medical information on Kate. The DJ's said that they thought that they would get just hung up on because they themselves stated their attempts at a British accent was bad.
  7. I do medical billing (actually, recently laid off) and I took a quick look at Australia's medical privacy laws. They are pretty much the same as the US & United Kingdom. These Jackass DJ's may have very well violated the law, via electronic communication means. All citizens are guaranteed the right to medical privacy by Law, not just private citizens. Fortunately for the hospital, The Royal Family was supportive of them, apparently realizing they had been duped. Direct quote from the CNN article: "A St. James's Palace spokesman said: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are deeply
  8. I KNEW IT!! I KNEW IT!! IT IS A DRINKING GAME!!!
  9. I have never tried the Vicks Footsie thing before, but I've heard it works. We have an odd family home-cure for nausea...Lemon Jello. Dissolve a box of it with boiling water per the instructions, add just enough ice cubes to cool it off a bit. Then drink it while it's still warm, like soup or hot tea. I don't know if it's the gelatin, the sugar, or the citrus in it, but it works.
  10. Bless her heart, I saw her around town not long ago. In spite of all of her problems, in her own way she brought together this community of Paulding County. People cared about her, although few of us knew her well. She will be missed by her family, her friends, and all of us. If anyone knows about her services, please post.
  11. A close friend (male, age 29) was diagnosed with Behcet's several months ago. Quite a shock to everybody, none of us had ever heard of it. They moved to Cobb from Paulding recently, to be closer to his wife's job (thank God for her insurance) and to Kennestone Hospital. It's been a struggle, but he has a good attitude, he's a strong guy with a very supportive wife & friends. He had a lot of pain & fatigue problems for a long time before he was diagnosed. It wasn't great news, but at least he has answers for why he felt so bad so often. He works part time when he's able to, and is going
  12. Yes, I can't remember but I think Harley was the oldest.
  13. Harley's mom has been a friend of mine for many years. She is such a good person. This just breaks my heart.
  14. Her first husband was Phillip, wasn't it? The one who was in love with Tara? I started watching that show back when it first came on , and I was around 10 or 11 I think. Haven't seen it in years, but I will always love Erica. And who can forget Phoebe Tyler? I'm sad to see it go, and One Life to Live too.
  15. Too long to post (sorry about the above, didn't realize until after I hit submit how long the post would be) but here is the facebook link to consumer brands of flea & tick products that contain the harmful ingredients. Just wiser, in general, to consult your vet before using any products that are intended to kill fleas or ticks. Hartz & Sergeants are the most well-known products that have caused injuries ranging from skin irritation, permanent neurological damage, seizures, and even death. If anybody wants a copy & paste of the list from this (if the link doesn't work) just pm me.
  16. I follow health issues for cats & dogs. OTC flea & tick products can be downright dangerous....sometimes fatal. This is a copy & paste from a group I've been involved with on facebook. 17. I am so very sorry to hear this. My prayers for this beautiful girl's family and all who knew and loved her.
  18. If you ever put that on T-Shirts or bumper stickers, let me know. I want to be your first customer.
  19. I've had this GE cordless land phone/digital answering machine since early 2006. It's worked fine...until today...I don't know if we had power surges from the storms while I was at work or what but...tonight it shorted out something I guess and suddenly all my old messages are gone. Two of those messages are from early 2006...from Mama, who died Oct 2006. I just...wanted to keep them, to listen sometimes to hear her voice. I emailed General Electric, it may be a few days to hear back from them. Does anyone know if there is a way to retrieve those messages, from an internal electronic
  20. I wish we'd get a good bookstore instead of having to drive up to The Avenue.
