  1. The thread is useless. Unless someone spills the beans so I can resume my normal activities.
  2. I thought this was supposed to be a thread about a kind act. Guess in true PCom fashion, the topic takes a multitude of predictable twists and turns. Even if you have the best medical insurance in the world, you will still have expenses that are not covered. I have excellent medical insurance but it won't cover meals for my loved ones while I'm hospitalized, travel, hotels, experimental drugs, etc etc. Medical insurance is not to cover every cost incurred with being ill. It's to cover some of the expense. My nephew endured two years battling cancer after already have gone through a
  3. She stated that her birthfather is adopted as well so he'd have to have found his biological parents to get any info. It just makes it even more difficult. I know I am blessed to have met my biological family and finally learned my heritage. It's funny, I grew up in the North but am more Southern by blood than many "Southerners".
  4. He was released, his DNA didn't match. It was all made up. Old news.
  5. Is that similar to the "Human Fund"? I think there is a person or two in this thread who might not meet the qualifications.
  6. OK, whatever the hell that means. Anyone that can make fun of a 89 year old, disabled man's teeth who just shaved his head in honor of a little boy fighting for his life is disgusting. It takes one helluva dark hearted and numb person to turn such a sweet picture into something so callous. Seriously, this website has gone to sh*t.
  7. I've tried a variation of this and it didn't work for me. Where I live, I'll stick to using repellants with DEET...can't afford the risks.
  8. If anything ever happens to my husband, I'm marrying Harry.
  9. I had an bug (anecdotally an Earwig) in my ear while sitting on the beach outside Manistee, MI. That crazy sheeze can happen anywhere. Don't get me wrong...it was horrendous. But it's quite rare that an earwig actually crawls into someone's ear. It's more of a myth than anything. Google "botfly" and dare to visit Central America Just messin'
  10. Who says I wear any? Expand your horizons, Señor Cain. These stories are a dime a dozen created for shock factor. Sure, they happen, but sadly it keeps some people from traveling outside their comfort zone.
  11. You must never leave Paulding County so nothing bad can EVER happen to you.
  12. My uncle has had it for years. His vertigo doesn't seem to be as bad as it was when he was first diagnosed. But since then he has lost almost all his hearing. He had a degree in Communications and went back to college a few years back for a major in Geology. "Rocks don't talk" is his reason LOL But it certainly doesn't stop him at all. He and his new wife came down to Costa Rica for 10 days on the their honeymoon and we all had a great time making memories and going out on adventures together.
  13. That's a sad statement about the US.
  14. I'm a self appointed gyro connoisseur after having many many GREAT ones growing up in Chicago. THe Gyros at Crossroads are great! No chewy meat, that had been rotated around for days. Full of flavor, moist (hate that word) and very tasty. Yummmm, I want one now. Grrrrr....
  15. $51 for that amount of food is incredible! And it's not frozen, re-heated franchise food. I'm sure you can eat that crap for less, but why?!?
  16. I had the Zorba's platter and DH and I shared it, and then took it home and had it for lunch and dinner the next day. I can't say enough good about that place! It might be the only thing I miss about Paulding County
  17. From the land of Pura Vida, in the beautiful Central Valley of Costa Rica.... Yes, everything is slower here and I love it. I have to say that I really don't notice much of a difference though. I loved ATT UVerse until we got an offer on our house. The day after we accepted the offer, the new potential owners called up and scheduled to have their UVerse transferred to our address on the day of closing. UVerse said "eff you" and cut our service three weeks before we closed. I went back and forth with them until I was blue in the face. They said they cannot have two servic
  18. I felt like a Fifth grader all over again. I couldn't stop giggling. It might be tacky, but I doubt there were many people that didn't at least chuckle a bit.
  19. The Mable House is struggling to get acts at their amphitheatre. http://www.mdjonline.com/view/full_story/18719951/article-Locals-hope-to-lure-acts-to-amphitheater Read the comments at the bottom of the article too. I think if a private company wants to open one, it could be a good thing. But the government has no business running it. The proposed area is goofy too. I'm sure there are other places in the county that would be more appropriate.
  20. I need to get one of those. Dengue Fever is an epidemic down here this year and I don't want it! How long do they last and do you need refills, etc?
  21. I am blessed. Absolutely blessed. Every morning I wake up and find it hard to believe my life has turned out the way it has.
  22. I can't resist. Here was my perfect ending to a beautiful day yesterday. There's a storm brewing out in the Pacific so the surf was crazy.
  23. She doesn't look bad at all, but when they showed her walking I can see two potential problems. Her boobs were about to flop out her top. Perhaps it was the potential wardrobe malfunction they were worried about. Lord knows that everyone would die if they saw areola.
