  1. I understand where you are coming from. I really do. This is all just one helluva mess that affects so many people of so many walks!
  2. Holy Krap!!! I laphed so hard my kocktail ex-scaped from my lips and onto my keybored!! I seriously thought that all those years of grammar were in vein!! Hey!! And don't you really DIG the $1,000 deductible!!??? Why should I be so worried about this? I mean, I don't have insurance, so I can stash away money, right? And if something really bad happens to me that leaves me unable to work, I can just sign up for my sleek $1,000/mo disability pay check!! Booo yah!! (I'm not slamming people on disability, as I know many who are on it for good reason. But can you see where thi
  3. I have been reading about this health care crap until my brain started sizzling. I got laid off about 7 years ago. I have not had any insurance since that time. I paid out of pocket for 3 dr. visits in these 7 years, totaling about $300. Maybe that's why I just stopped looking into the fiasco that is Obamacare. One thing I know is that well off people hate it. And it's loaded with loopholes to take care of the most financially desolate. So, again, all I see is great reward for non-working people at the expense of the hard working people. This will most definitely destroy what's left of our cou
  4. That's why we are a Republic and not a true Democracy. People have work and family in their lives. Not enough down time to vote on every single thing. Therefore, the change has to be with WHO we elect in the first place. Problem with that is that the ones running for office are RICH to begin with. I don't understand the mindset of rich people no more than I do lazy, trashy people. Both live in a world that the rest of us simply do not understand (nor would I care to).
  5. I'll give you that, and also agree with several other items you listed. A heinous accident is still just that, an accident. As long as people don't see the difference between that and a carefully planned murder of four, I'll continue to never have faith in our justice system. In fact, until a bona-fide litmus test is administered to all jurors, much of our justice system will remain a spectacle of kangaroo courts. On a totally OFF note, when will FireFox hire people that pass such tests to handle their Forrest Gump spell check routine?
  6. It's called money!! America offers the BEST defense that money can buy.....didn't you know that?
  7. With all due respect, Paulding County, south of Hwy 278 has no sewer. I spent about 7 years as a civil engineer with 3 different companies designing several outfalls and pump stations to get it here, but it never came to pass. No problem with development though. All you need is a third of an acre lot with septic tanks and nitro lines to get a CO. Change is inevitable. How we go about handling the changes are what's important, and somewhat lacking in this community. I live in the Ridge Road corridor. There are thousands of people and hundreds of subdivisions here. One need only to look at t
  8. Two problems I have with the death penalty (wait, make that THREE problems). 1. I am against it unless there is 100% certainty that the perpetrator actually committed said crime. 2. While not a deterrent, it also takes too long for the penalty to arrive. 3. Carrying out the death penalty requires ANOTHER killer to kill for the state. Of course, this executioner (killer) feels justified in doing so, as perhaps the one being killed may have felt justified at the time they took someone's life. I guess what would seem right to me would be to separate these folks from the rest of society, an
  9. 20% off all labor until the end of the year!!
  10. That's THE PLACE to go for a good deal on good food! You can even smoke in there. I'm going to my GF's this evening so she can buy me some supper. I know that's where we'll end up going too!!
  11. I was bummed out to find out they are no longer there. I've been spending some time over in Smyrna since my GF moved there a couple of months ago. We were both CHS class of 83 home bodies.
  12. Not so. I used to have a Buick that was Canadian built. When you crank the car the lights are on. The only reason there's even a switch is so you can turn them on while the car is off. Very idiot proof. Ditto. Traffic laws of this sort are simply not enforced anymore. If they were, there would be blue lights all over the place for a while until people caught on. Funny how they'll nail you in a heartbeat for no safety belt (yes, I wear mine at all times outa habit) but you can cruise all day in the rain with no HL's or turn signals.
  13. So today's automation comes with a sacrifice of safety to everyone else trying to drive. Maybe this country should only sell Canadian cars. (lights are ALWAYS on).
  14. Headlights being turned on in the rain USED to be something that was done a lot, and was also enforced by law. I don't see it much anymore. It's beyond me why people don't do it. It's so easy to do, and makes you so much more visible in this crappy rain. But you know the saying, "stupid is as stupid does".... All the more reason I'm dreading having to do mobiles today.

  16. There's nothing better now than having a nice mower that will mulch or bag those leaves up. Or maybe a good blower that'll blow em away. Not working or running right??? No problem!!! 17. Great post all around. I especially like the bold part. Many of the people who would normally help their neighbor, now look down on them in a dim light when they discover they are receiving government support. With so many people on assistance now, this contempt will only keep growing. The only thing that bothers me in a moral sense, is how long it would take for the "haves" to change that negative view and rekindle that once giving spirit. I have plenty of friends who have become downright venomous in their conversation about people who receive any kind of benefits, whether it's saving a fam
  18. True that. Afterwards, I understood your concern about things getting frayed just for asking for clarification. I don't get involved in this crap if possible- I simply make mental notes and move on, sometimes skipping questionable posts altogether. If I DID interpret her comment correctly, then I would have to agree with what she said (if that's what she meant) however, if what she said carried a different meaning, then my agreement would be a moot point. After agreeing with what I thought was said, I thought I would comment in total agreement, however, not being quite sure if that was her
  19. That's what I sorta thought too, but the post was still very vague and inconclusive....I didn't get it much at all. No offense to the poster, who seems to think they crafted the statement rather well.
  20. Okay, fine!!! Get me started will ya?? For one thing...there's a GOOD chance Walmart WILL hire you when no one else will. That's reason enough to work for those a-holes who pioneered and honed the slave market abroad the USA. If you are starving (like me) you will take ANYTHING that offers a job, be it a crappy job. Walmart has been brought up in congress more than a few times, along with many other large corps who no longer have to worry about paying taxes thanks to godforsaken loopholes in the system. The ONLY way out I have found is to start your own business!!! You WILL almost cer
  21. I agree! But a given pcom factor is over-reaction to most things, aint it? There has been a murder on my end of Ridge Road and the other within a bout 3 years of each other. But, it's not like a common thing. Given how many people live here now, I think our status is well above average in this being a great place to live. I have noticed that murder and mayhem in this area tend to receive a lot of press coverage because it's so rare for the area.
  22. I am rebuilding several leaf blowers today and tomorrow. Please call 678-315-8794 if interested in buying a good reconditioned blower for much less than you'd pay in stores!! Blowers come with a conditional 30 day warranty. First one up is a Weedeater brand hand held for $50...ready to go! Glenn 678-315-8794
  23. Affordable repairs on most all outdoor power equipment, mowers, leaf blowers, pressure washers, generators, wood chippers, etc. Just call me at 678-315-8794 to set things up. Thanks! Glenn
  24. Room is still available. Pass this on to anyone you can think of who is looking for a nice place to stay. Thanks.
  25. My criteria on that is that smoking is allowed in the room for rent and some areas of the house. No pets, although I did post that I have two cats, in case someone with feline allergies were aware. I guess the only thing I didn't specify, although it seemed well implied I thought, was that this is ONE room for ONE person. Not multiple tenants. Adults only, with no stay with children. I simply can't accommodate anything more. Tenant may have visitors, but this and many other things will be discussed at the interview. What wasn't covered in the IP, should be covered now. I have also decided
