  1. And I tend to think you are absolutely right. I have been friends with this girl for many years, and we also went to school together. I really fell hard for her after the past couple of months. She's a very beautiful and fun loving woman, but I have no illusions...if you can't disagree with someone, or offer advice, admonish, etc. them without them blowing into full blown drama (as if they are perfect and incapable of doing any wrong) then all I see is a dead end road. It'll take time to get over her, and for my heart to heal up. But, I also know that the longer I'd kept going, the more painfu
  2. Let me throw this out for your discretion, and/or a possible diagnosis- My former GF came from a 20+ year marriage. Her husband is an alcoholic, but NEVER inflicted any harm to her, whatsoever. After dating her for a little over a year, I came to the conclusion that he basically "spoiled" her, by negating and ignoring any and all short-comings she had about her. I tried as hard as I could to "bring her around" to reality. To make a long story short, they both were so nasty that DEFACS had been called out to their place numerous times. The houses they lived in were atrocious (dog poop, perm
  3. Business is finally coming in, so don't delay if you need your mower done QUICK!! Superior quality repairs, affordable prices, and always....service with a smile!! :) Call Glenn @ 678-315-8794. Open Thursday-Saturdays, 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
  4. I'm so sorry for your loss. I had to put my last two dogs down because of diseases they got. One of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with. I'm glad you have a positive outlook though. That certainly helps when dealing with the loss of a beloved dog in the family.
  5. I feel the same way (all but 3 months a year)...my season is down, trapped in the house and TV is my only sanity left during the winter months.
  6. Good luck, I hope it continues to do so. Mine was "okay" for a while. But lately, it's really been lame. I use a LOT of bandwidth for computers that are networked into the house, and streaming TV's, at least 3 most all the time. U-Verse just chokes to death on this. Com cast never did. I don't relish the fact of having to renew with them, but I have to do what my business calls for. And on a side note....U-Verse took my installation fee and was supposed to break it down into THREE payments. I'm on my 5th month with bloated invoices. Sure, I can call and have it fixed, but I've had to call
  7. The ONLY problem I ever had with them is when they started raising my bill for no apparent reason. When I cancelled, I was still charged for two more months, after the boxes were already taken away. Of course, I just let it go to collections at that point. Now, after a little over 6 months with ATT U-Verse, I can see that Comcast has me by the family jewels. My business thrives on GOOD internet, so I have no choice but to figure out how to go back with them. U-Verse sucks! It works fine when it feels like working, but even when it's at 100%, it still falls WAAAYYY short of Comcast speed. I jus
  8. The one I have was rather expensive and the safest thing I've ever seen....but like GD said, I've also seen some fire hazard jobs out there..but even those will trip the breaker if they go too long. Space heaters draw a LOT of amps. If you're not sure, then buy a protected power strip and plug it into that. I've had MANY trip the reset buttons, while working in a cold shop.
  9. I have a nice electric one you can use. It's safe and turns off if toppled over. Let me know tomorrow. I'll be gone most of the day, but will be back home in the evening. 678-315-8794 Call anytime tomorrow. You can use it as long as you need it, so don't go blowing money on one if you can't afford it. Glenn
  10. Negating everyone else's opinions is actually one of the red flags that addicts exhibit. An addict will often fall into the realm of thinking "everyone is against them"....when in fact, they are just so out in left field, seeking their own justification, that they fail to see that everyone is just trying to help them. That's good food for thought for everyone.
  11. I also realized that a LONG time ago. And while what you say is true to an extent, I learned even later than that in life that the people we deal with are some of the best mirrors we have available to show us who WE are to ourselves. In other words, if the majority of people you know have a problem with you, then it's usually indicative that you need to examine who you are and how you relate to others. While you can't please EVERYONE, you can please the vast majority if you take their advice and do some soul searching. Everyone reflects onto everyone. Without taking stock of your own reflectio
  12. Yeah, but you poop gold and fart cash!! I've seen it!! The one in my bedroom was about $600..still about 3 times what your basic Wally World ones run. I bought one for about $200 that looked great, was lightweight, fan cooled, but doesn't even come close to my older one. Wait...I have it all backwards, danggit!! I bought the cheaper one for the living room. When it didn't meet my approval, I moved it into the bedroom (which is MUCH smaller) where it does a good job. The older one was in the mancave but hardly ever got turned on so I put it in the living and now the walls shake.
  13. The problem lies more with not understanding addiction, its innate force. No addict ever PLANNED on becoming an addict. That's absurd. Most addicts start as kids who want to get high, and in their infinite knowledge of human behaiour, they fail to understand what addiction even means, or what it is. Some people can try something once and never look at it again. Others may only be in the room, and get that contact buzz, and they're marred for life. To assume everyone has the same pysche and approach to possible dangers is to not understand humanity and the diversity it entails. Anytime I re
  14. Well, their inherant construction makes them more vulnerable than the CRT's. The glass on mine is so thick a .22 probably would bounce off it. It also weighs as much as 2-3 much larger plat panels...close to 175 lbs. I bought about 17 years ago, I guess. Looks and sounds as good as it did the day I bought it. It's my bedroom theatre, which works just right. I bought a Roku to stream to it without the HD and it never chokes like the blueray player sometimes does because of such a narrower bandwidth. I love the HD pictures, but at night in bed or up some morning TV, it suits me just fine.
  15. True that!! That old, but large CRT I mentioned feels like a different ride with the sound system that brings it to life.
  16. I'd never allude to you being a bad person, sweety. And I understand the anger and frustration that comes with dealing with such people. Like I said, although addition is a very powerful force, it CAN be overcome. My patience runs thin when I don't see the addict feeling remorse, guilt, and overwhelmed by the force of addiction. I have been known to wipe my hands of them entirely. But, I guess my patience has grown longer over my years. If I think I can help someone get off the crazy train, I'll always try. Although, the ones I think we're referring to are not in the same situation as this ma
  17. Yes, they do...probably more than any other engine out out there.
  18. Young people do stupid things. Always have. If I knew someone who was headed down the wrong road, I would try like hell to straighten them out, at least long enough to see if they really wanted out themselves. God forbid someone's kids get caught up in this crap with a parent who'll just strike a match and toss it on them. Of course, most parents learn sympathy from simply having their own kids.
  19. I like my big screen, but there are times I really love my older (biggest CRT you could get before the flat panel came along). That thing will outlast the next THREE TV's I buy down the road. And with no HD, it streams flawlessly!
  20. True, but not everyone is as strong as the next person. Those people who are stronger can often save the lives of the weaker ones, if they'd just care to. Of course, there are some people who simply don't care and won't at least try to save themselves or show any attempt. It's important to know the difference. Personally, I don't see this man as one of those people. He fell off the train after a LONG clean period and it killed him. Tragic as hell. I turned down two very lucrative offers to play with well known rock stars when I was only 21 and 25 yrs old, respectively. I had a good job, ha
  21. Yes they do....daily. I tell young people all the time, "sometimes what you don't know can't hurt you"....especially when it comes to drugs and booze. Anyone whoever managed to kick a crack habit will tell you all it takes is that FIRST time to screw you up for life. Even if you step away, the urge will always be there like a sickness (which it is). What bothers me the most is to see such hate on a thread that was intended to mourn as terrific actor of our time. It's a loss to anyone whoever appreciated this man's talent and what he brought to the big screen. I suppose if someone wanted to
  22. Yep. Although everything I have runs fine as is. E-gas is okay as long as you're going through it fast. It's the shelf life that makes it suck so bad. (60-90 days) then is gets moisture in it and cruds up much quicker. It is nice that you can actually buy it now though if you want to. LOTS of stations are starting to carry it now. That old Benz of surepips is one example of it being a great idea to get as much as possible.
  23. Quality repair work at affordable prices! Get those mowers tuned up for Spring!! 678-315-8794 Glenn
  24. It's not the talent as much as the fame. Once you get famous, your privacy is all but gone. Constantly being hounded, and dealing with butthole critics tearing you apart makes it hard for stars to deal with life. Being famous is anything but a normal life. It sorta causes a need for some kind of escape in many folks like that.....be it booze, pills, sex, whatever. All it takes is one strong vice to spin outa control.
