  1. Disclaimer: Not for one second do I agree with what happened in this home and I agree that it was terrible. I also cannot understand or fathom why anyone would allow this to happen to themselves or to someone else. That said, I have to acknowledge that there are many unknowns in the story. Did the son live, or anyone else, live in the house? How often was he around her? Did either of them have any mental issues not mentioned? I have been around a few folks who are determined to do something. We don't know if she refused to allow him to help her. Guilt trips can be painful, esp
  2. Personally, I would either A) keep calling till I get answers from somebody, go up there, etc. Why would an OBGYN need info on your son. Sounds kind of fishy, but I wouldn't just give it up....
  3. Pilots would not qualify for any mechanic type job anywhere in the FAA jurisdiction, unless they have an A&P license along with their pilot certificate. The only way a pilot can work (mechanic) on an airplane is if they are the owner of the airplane. Even then, they are only allowed minor stuff like changing the oil, etc.
  4. Was the top grade 100? Also, may have graded on a sliding scale. There are also some teachers who refuse to give a grade of 100 citing no one is perfect.
  5. Lots of hotels have free hotel shuttles to the port. I don't know of any hotel that would let you park for days at a time while not staying there.
  6. Here is walmart's ad, directly from their website ---- $198 laptop, $3 appliances, $29 kids bikes, etc Link: http://localad.walmart.com/Walmart/Entry/Flash?forceview=y&promotioncode=LA_Walmart-111121A?adid=1500000000000037743520

  8. I am so sorry to hear this. Ms. Foster was a wonderful lady. I really had great respect for her and how she cared for Jim. She will be missed.
  9. You are a class act. You are the type of person who would help an older person with their groceries or hold the door open for a person on crutches. You show respect for others. You have earned my respect. You are a good person.
  10. southside medical Centers in Atlanta. $40 to $80 per visit for any dental service, cleanings, x-rays, fillings, bridges, etc depending on income. They do not do root canals. Long line each day, first come first serve, some days take 4+ hours to get in if you don't have an appointment. Speaking of which, 9 month wait for appointments. Hey, you wanted cheap, you have to pay with your time. Link: http://www.southsidemedical.net/
  11. So for you any "Reserved" parking space is considered open parking. Does that include reserved LE parking? Mayor only? Employee of the month? Just curious.
  12. My attempt at sarcasm, but I watch people, regular to law enforcement vehicles, roll through stops signs regularly, hence they must be optional.
  13. But the sign says for "For Pregnant Women or Children with small Children". Are you suggesting that the sign should be ignored or (as many stops signs are) considered optional?
  14. If you go back, you will see I wrote, "not by me." I would never do such a thing, but consideration does go both ways.
  15. I think you actually made both your points. Yes, you have the right to own what ever you can afford, you can be proud of it and drive, take, show it off as you please, but you must realize things happen. Sometimes you have control and sometimes you don't. As far as parking, much to my husband's disdain, I prefer to park in places where I don't have to back up. This normally happens to be at the end of a parking lot. Every once in a while some wonderful person will park so close to me, I have no choice but to ding their door. My car came with dings, so it doesn't bother me. If I owned a

  19. maybe this site can help answer some of your questions, though nothing mentioned about a gov't agency involved except for the IRS. Link: http://www.benefitresource.com/faqs/fsa-hra-faqs/general-fsa-faqs/#terminate
  20. There are alot of them out there, in all sorts of jobs, mayors, police sheriffs, gym teachers, child care, etc. Maybe even standing next to you at the grocery store or delivering your pizza. All they can do is lock them up when they catch them.

    Halloween

I have seen some excellent and very creative costumes on high-school-age guys and gals. I don't have a problem with them actually making the effort and will reward them.
  22. like when they bust those child molesters --- when the pervs show up at the mall or the motel room looking for the victim. The intent is there even though the crime was not committed.
  23. Having lived in other states and have relatives around the country, i have seen it celebrated on different than 10/31, because of weather or convenience, etc. It seems to be more flexible up north (yankee land). So when the question pops up somewhere, i tend to think -- ya'll ain't from 'round here are ye?
  24. although not in georgia typically, there are a lot of those escalades at other states the police auctions. Most georgia agencies either keep them when they seize them or use them for undercover sting operations in a different county.
