  1. Thank you. I found Brookstone on a map. I may go check out the YMCA for a membership unless someone knows of an indoor pool closer to East Paulding. At least the YMCA has more than just a pool.
  2. We have a large yard but sit on almost solid rock and our entire yard is a sloped hill, so an inground or above ground pool is out for us. There is a YMCA with an indoor pool off of Mars Hill in west Cobb that offers non-resident membership but it seemed a little high. Still if I would actually drive that far I would love it for possible water aerobic classes, just for toning and a little exercise that is fibromyalgia friendly. There is also an indoor pool with Cobb County Parks and Recreation on Macland Rd. that offers non resident membership. Where is Brookstone?
  3. Wow I didn't know that about the grubs. We have always had them and have never had much of a problem except during the drought. I know the grubs become the June bugs (green beetles) that I hate because they eat my roses.
  4. A dog urinating on it, a patch of fungus or even fertilizer that has weed killer in it will also kill patches of clover or thyme and make the yard look patchy. We have grubs and earth worms really bad but they don't kill our grass and the birds really like them.
  5. When I went to high school here in Paulding there was only one high school, Paulding County High School on Hwy 61. The Ku Klux Klan (minus the sheets) once visited the high school, during class hours, looking for new recruits. Of course many of the students went to the meeting to listen just to get out of class for an hour, but they received alot of new recruits that way. I refused to go.
  6. In the past I have seen them at the Publix checkout counters. Specifically it was the New Hope Publix. I haven't noticed any this year though. You could call them and ask.
  7. Dr. Luciann Moyher. She is a great chiropractor and she has become a good friend over the years. She is also a P.com business member and can be found at Dallas Chiropractic. Her office includes 2 massage therapists and has other forms of therapy available.
  8. Yes this is exactly what our AC was doing about a month ago. The ice blocks the flow of air so definitely TURN IT OFF & LET IT THAW OUT or you will burn up your motor. We let ours thaw out and turned it back on but it tried to freeze up again. We called out Rainwater Heating and Air and they DO take emergency calls, so if your friend can't make it out then I would try them. Our tech came out after hours and turned out to be part owner. He used a device to check for leaks and we do have one in our indoor coil. For the time being he recharged it with freon and said it may or may not last thr
  9. Is she at the "Thrift Store" or "The Endless Yard Sale" store? I can't remember which one she is at. I donated a ton of clothing, furniture and household items last year to the Thrift Store. They were so nice with guys who helped hubby unload the long bed pickup truck AND a 10' trailer full of stuff.
  10. JJR, since there is now a charge for bringing coolers inside the pool, is there a concession stand available for drinks and snacks?
  11. It's at Vito's Cafe from 9-5pm today. Here is the link to Vito's Cafe with a map. Vito's Cafe location
  12. Is there enough room for a YMCA with an INDOOR pool and a public shooting range? I think those are both great ideas. We have no indoor public pool in this county. They are great for water aerobics and classes for the elderly. A public shooting range would make a ton of money in this county.
  13. In the interview on WSBTV she said that when she found a sore spot on her breast that area looked like it had a bite and she didn't even know what had bitten her. She never saw a spider. So I am assuming that she was told at the doctor that it was a spider bite. Then the interview said it was only a few days later that she woke up and her whole breast was black looking. She lost the breast AND the muscle underneath so she is about to under go reconstructive surgery. They never said why she is having to relearn how to walk.
  14. Good job! I love it. Put a gutter on it and you could collect the rainwater for the plants.
  15. Thank you for the tip but I hate red wines. I do like a white merlot by Vendange that is dark pink and sweet. Then there is the Sutter Home's moscato that is also good. I keep them in the house but only have 1 or 2 glasses on occasion.
  16. Hubby likes Coors or Guinness but apparently I am allergic to something in beer. I assume it's the hops. I don't drink much anymore due to my meds but I like sweet wine or tequila.
  17. They also said the brown recluse can be brown OR gray. It likes places that are dry like wood piles and storage buildings.
  18. Revenoor thank you for posting in such detail. We have an old 5.1 Sony and need to check on this.
  19. DirecTV has been our TV provider for about 9 years. We love our TV service and the amount of channels per dollar, but we have our DSL and home phone with AT&T. We are thinking now that we will switch to AT&T Uverse for the TV & DSL and drop the home phone that we never use. As far back as I can remember DirecTV has always offered 4 rooms/receivers and the satellite dish for either nothing or a low price to NEW customers, but only new customers. I would take advantage of it if you do not have AT&T Uverse in your area.
  20. LPPT I heard about this 2 weeks ago from friends up North and it is a virus when a friend of a friend suggests to everyone on your friend list. Don't click on it and you might want to advise your friends not to either. I don't do the friend of a friend bit at all. It has to come directly from a friend for me to pay attention.
  21. Yep. This is the problem that an old friend and I had in school. We were both almost straight A student's. We would finish early in class then we would be bored to tears for the rest of the class time. We weren't really "bad" but we would end up whispering and braiding each others hair because we were so bored. We started helping other students who needed "tutoring" or read library books during this time, but it was always AFTER the teacher was done teaching and everyone was to work on assignments. This should also help occupy his mind. Oh, we weren't ADD but we were math nuts.
  22. Surepip that's funny. I wish my mom had of done this with my brother when he was young. She worked as a dispatcher for 3 departments at different times, so I am not sure why she didn't.
  23. I went to this pool as a teenager and I cannot remember them allowing a cooler back then, but of course I haven't been in more than 10 years. When I use to go there was a concession stand for drinks and candy bars. Do they not have it now?
  24. Check this link for days/hours of operation, pricing and classes. Sara Babb Pool
