  1. Sorry Dis. The Mrs has had furloughs for over a year now. They suck, but like you she is glad to still be working.
  2. No problems with Skyline about 4 years back. I think they charged $189 for a 1000 gal tank.
  3. Sure the show made Lorre money, but his fortune doesn't rest on the shoulders of Charlie Sheen as his misogynistic rants would lead one to believe. He can afford to tell Sheen to take a hike, close the show, and move on. Lorre owns the show as surely as if it were the Porsche in the driveway and CBS and Sheen can argue all they want to no avail. Two and a Half Men is only one of three of Lorre's shows on CBS that make the network tons of money. Honestly only a knuckle head like Moonves would fight over this one. Lorre will make CBS a lot more money in the long run than any coked out mis
  4. Well, maybe Les is a big a whack job as Charlie. I would love to hear what Lorre had to say about it, but of course this is a family message board and I doubt any of it could be repeated here.
  5. Maybe he can go on tour with Charlie Sheen.
  6. If there is time, I would strongly advise you to get a passport. It is the definitive proof that you are who you say you are, and that you are a US citizen. Should anything go wrong with the TSA database, or if there is some sort of security problem while you are away, or should you somehow get separated from the cruise or questioned for any reason while in a foreign port, that passport might save you a LOT of trouble.
  7. I'm not sure that I can add anything to that statement. Sammy Hagar Says He Was Abducted by Aliens---Seriously
  8. Yes sir way back in the olden days the bus driver could have you kicked off the bus for a week, a 6 week period, or for the entire school year just on her word. If you were a trouble maker, that became the parents problem not the driver's, and Mama didn't want to be her little angel's chauffeur for 9 months. It usually took one or two expulsions at the beginning of the year before the other kids got the message and behaved themselves on the bus. No screaming, no running back and forth, no fighting, no eating, no drinking, and no cussing. Now the poor drivers just have to sit there and take
  9. I can't stand to drive a car full of teenagers, let alone an entire bus load. I don't know how they do it day in and day out.
  10. Maybe it was endangered cat food, dog food, or suet feeders. That's what my raccoons eat. Seriously? Are raccoons going to disappear?
  11. You know, I don't mind the 7th Day Adventists and others coming to the door to tell me about their savior. I can be polite and say "no thank you" and go about my business as I see fit, while they have done what they see as their duty to their God. It's a win-win. What I absolutely can not abide is some holier than thou, indignantly self righteous politician using the legislative power of his office to forcefully restrict my individual rights in an effort to buy votes. I can tell you, if my soul ever needed "saved" I don't believe that Mr. Heath would be my first stop.
  12. This is a stupid, naked, crony capitalistic law. They exempt Delta and raise taxes on groceries. This tax made sense when first implemented at the height of the fuel crisis and Delta's bankruptcy. It helped to keep Delta here and afloat. It makes absolutely no sense now when Delta is completely solvent.
  13. Ask Yukon Cornelius. I believe he may have actually been there.
  14. The situation is quite grim. There is no putting a pretty face on it. From what I understand from what I can glean from a lot of sources, this particular type of containment structure, which is doubled, will contain a fuel melt as long as the containment vessel is not breached. Apparently a worst case scenario for this type of reactor, if undamaged by explosion, is a partial meltdown similar to TMI. If the containment vessel is breached, I guess that depends upon the severity of the damage. A complete meltdown is certainly possible, and that would be catastrophic. The cooling pools, howev
  15. Quite strangely enough, it looks like the spent fuel pools are the most in danger of releasing radiation, not the reactors themselves. The situation is really touch and go, but so far there appears to be no significant breach of a containment vessel within a reactor, which is where the most danger would lie. Keep in mind that these reactors were successfully shut down and there is no nuclear fission occurring, nor will there be. This is significant and damaging residual heat build up threatening to melt the fuel itself. This is a very critical situation, but nothing like Chernobyl where
  16. While not strictly "Irish" in the sense that they are an American Band, Uncle Earl shows a huge Irish influence in their Traditional Folk Music. Their version of "My Epitaph" is the most moving I've ever heard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzI8Lpg09pA
  17. heath was up there literally crying like an idiot when he was speaking about all of the homeless children and beaten women that would come of this. it's absolutely embarrassing.
  18. Isn't today cross-over day? That was close. Is this why Bill Heath is crying? He has said that that $3 million in additional sales tax revenue is of no real consequence to him. I am constantly amazed by some so called fiscal conservative who put forcing their religious beliefs (or those of whom they suppose to be the majority of their core voting block) above the overall good of the public. It will not likely increase the number of children in broken homes or the number of beaten wives, because the true drunks in the state already know to buy beer on Saturday night and to buy their wife
  19. Microsoft released today the Service Pack 1 update for Windows 7. It will not be automatically installed even if you have auto update turned on. 20. Metal buildings, even metal framed buildings, naturally interfere with cell signals. Depending upon the location of your carrier's nearest tower you may not be able to get a usable signal at all while inside. Try standing next to a window on each side of the building.
  21. You can plant fescue now, but you will need to keep it watered as the temperatures go up. It needs about 2 months to grow good roots. Fertilize and lime first.
  22. So, today is "Pi Day", 3-14. 3.14159.... is the ratio of a circle's circumference to it's diameter and when calculated is a number with endless decimal places even when calculated beyond 5 trillion digits. A Chinese guy actually memorized the first 64 thousand digits. It must be boring in parts of China. Another Pi aficionado, Michael John Blake, wrote this composition using the math behind Pi and musical notes as his muse. Happy Pi Day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYM6UEk_ywk
  23. The test should always be that your rights end where they infringe upon mine. If it goes beyond a simple inconvenience and actually affects the other children's education, then the allergic child needs to be given a voucher worth the amount spent on other children in the district, and he should seek an education in an appropriate setting where his problem doesn't become someone else's.
