A few years ago my daughter redid her room and I just got like 3-4 sets off JCPenney (on sale and free shipping). Then we tried them all on her bed and I returned the ones we didn't want to the store. We had a hard time finding "teen" bedding in the stores so this worked best for us. When it came time for my son to switch to a more grown up looking room he found something he liked at the JC Penney home store in Kennesaw and then I waited for it to go on sale or I had a coupon. Before I even had it out of the package I was able to get a killer deal on Black Friday. It's not really teen but

One reason not to buy this brand of computer
brown*eyed*girl replied to afriendlygeek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My PC isn't exposed to smoke but about once a year I will open up the back and am just amazed at all the dust and stuff that accumulates in there. Is there a way to cut down on this? Is it safe for the computer to throw some kind of cloth over it? I have hesitated doing this because I just figured the computer needs to breath so to speak. My sister has a dog and she is always having problems with her computers getting clogged up with dog hair. Her Elle is a beautiful Golden Retriever that was original trained as a seeing eye dog (my sis is legally blind but Elle has become more of a pe -
I agree. I did Atkins several years back and at the time felt more energized and better than I had in a long time. I didn't do it to lose weight but was having stomach problems at the time. The weight loss was a bonus. I tried to do it again last summer and after three weeks I had gained weight and wasn't feeling the energy I had before. I wonder if I was missing something. I remember the first time around you couldn't even have things like cough drops because they contained sugar and I thought it was NO carbs for the first 2 weeks not 20 carbs a day. Hmmm. I do need to do something bu

I voted but the answer that came to mind wasn't an option. No- but it would have been nice if he had. I voted No-my Dad wasn't around. He was about a 1,000 a way. It didn't bother me at the time and still doesn't but I just think it would have been a nice gesture and would have meant a lot to me.

I'm sure most of the people that saw it at midnight are either asleep or planning on getting there as soon as they get home from school or work. I LOVED it but if you didn't like Twilight you might not like this. Was it made better ? Yes but the characters are the same. Of course I haven't read the books for about a year and well to be honest I would have enjoyed it without the sound LOL I need to go back and listen to the whole thing again. We went to Twilight at 9pm (got there around 8:20) and didn't leave until after 3am since the midnight showing didn't actually start until 1

Well, I was supposed to have a nice girls night out tonight with my daughter and a few of her friends but she went and got herself grounded. I'm still going but now I'm going with 4 middle school boys~~lol. Don't know how that happened. JK Last year my son had no interest but I guess the boys all finally realized how much the girls like this series. Anyway, just to let you know that Movies 278 still had tickets as of late last night. I know last year rather than sell out they just kept opening up more theaters. I noticed that NCG in Acworth is showing New Moon again at 3am if any

Why Wally World is so GRAND! Don't you just love
brown*eyed*girl replied to subby1's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I got stuck looking through that people of Wal-mart website one day and could not believe some of the pictures people had gotten. You were generous with the ones you showed. Of course if you had posted some of the others this might have gotten moved to the place where those inappropriate type threads disappear to . -
We haven't had a real tree for several years now but we were planning on moving this summer so I donated our artificial tree and a ton of lights to Felix Family Lights last year (I heard they started putting things up already Yeah!!). I would love to buy a real looking artificial tree at a decent price but I find it hard finding one I find real looking enough. If we are going to be around for Christmas I think we will get a real one this year. I love the smell and look but hate the pine needles that seem to keep turning up even months after the tree is gone:).

do you have any clothing from an ex
brown*eyed*girl replied to footballbeerchic's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I have a shirt that belonged to someone special. Don't know if I could ever call him my boyfriend. We met in Daytona Beach on Spring Break one year. I went to school and Michigan and he went to Penn State. The next year he came up to Michigan and we went to Macinaw Island. The following year we met in Pittsburg for a little trip. He also visited my family once and I visited his. We kept in touch and when I got married he drove about 10 hours to come to the wedding. I never slept with him (for some reason I feel the need to say this, none of his friends believed it but it's true) but st -
Wow, I'm usually exhausted and I am done by noon at the latest. Of course I sometimes head back out later on that evening for a thing or two that I somehow missed but atleast I get a nap in between. I'm impressed.

Yes I will be going. I've never had a problem at Wal-mart here. In fact a couple of times I get there Thursday night and they were always open. Last year we hit the Mall, then got in line at Target, snuck over to the JC Penney store, back to Target then hit Walm=-mart on the way home. The year before that I think Best Buy was my first stop. The year before that I got in line at Walmart around midnight for a trampoline. They had to wake me when they moved the line around 4am~lol. I love, love LOVE shopping on Black Friday. I have a feeling most of my shopping will be done by then but I

How many of you with teenage daughters
brown*eyed*girl replied to footballbeerchic's topic in RECENT TOPICS
haha. . . I know exactly who your talking about. No my daughter hasn't noticed him but last year my son wanted to know where he gets his hair cut and he just said "a friend does it for me". Very elusive like. I think I saw him at church once too (we go to a big church) but usually it's in Target. -
SO Confused about the UNPAID GOT the GOODS
brown*eyed*girl replied to brown*eyed*girl's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Thanks, I'm still a little confused but atleast I know where to go:). -
Okay so I had a couple things I was thinking about putting for sale and I saw where there was an area that said GOT THE GOODS UNPAID. Since I am not a paid member I thought maybe this is where I would post that. When I click on it this is what it says: You are in the Paulding.com Unpaid Got the Goods forum. Tis means you are a paid supporter of the site. The person who placed the ad cannot read it or see it here. As an unpaid member, they cannot come into this forum. If they were a paid supporter, their ad would appear in the GOT THE GOODS forum so everyone could see it, not just pa

I like this idea. Wish I had thought of it.

I used to work as a server on Hilton Head Island. It was one of the funnest times of my life. However, and we all loved these ladies but on Sunday mornings (while everyone was at church) we used to have the "tennis ladies" come in. They were all senior citizens and they were regulars for the Sunday brunch. Anyway, they would come in and order one breakfast and ask for it to be split 4 WAYS~~ I'm not kidding. And then of course they would tip 10-15% of the one meal they bought. They would usually sit there for 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours. We all loved them (okay no we didn't, they were very gr

I currently have a couple things for sale on Craigslist and one item in particular seems to be drawing interest from people with strange messages. I don't think of myself as someone who judges people but I just get a bad feeling like maybe these are scam artists of sorts. Possible from other countries. One message said "Yu got stil now let me no?" Another said "Hi do u need cash for the holidays coming? give this a try (link) ". Needless to say I didn't click on the link. The most recent said "I have a query regarding your listed item. Could you please contact me at your earliest convenien

What is the deal with Tight-A%#@$ Tippers?
brown*eyed*girl replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I too used to waitress and was part owner of a restaurant. I normally leave 20-25%. I have to say that when I walk in with 3 kids the waitresses don't always seem too happy. You can see the surprise when I leave a decent tip. If I felt the server did something insulting or just did an overall bad job I still leave between 15-20%. I can't help myself. I think Paulding county has some excellent waitstaff. When I was quite a bit younger I worked in Hilton Head Island. I don't remember every having a $40 night unless I was cut early. Then again, it cost quite a bit more to live there than -
Any electronic genius people on right now?

Thanks for that link. It does give me something to think about. I have to admit trying to figure out what all that means is like trying to read Chinese to me . -
Any electronic genius people on right now?
brown*eyed*girl replied to brown*eyed*girl's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yes I did ( we got up about 5am and were there by 6am) and a few other things I wasn't originally planning on picking up. I ended up ordering the TV off Best Buy which is a good thing because the Wal-Mart on Dallas highway ran out early. We headed to the Hiram Walmart after wards and they still had some XBoxes, Blue Ray and DVD Players and the $788 TV's and maybe even the laptops since the guy a couple people in front of me was buying one. They had just sold two of the display model TV's since they ran out of the $498. I think those people got an extra $100 off, not sure. The Wal-mart -
Any electronic genius people on right now?
brown*eyed*girl replied to brown*eyed*girl's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Thanks! I was actually already at TWO Wal-marts this evening and was told they don't go on sale until 8am. I remembered last year reading on here how it wasn't bad like Black Friday and that people were able to show up about 30 minutes early and still get what they wanted. Not sure if that will be the case tomorrow or not. I do plan to go early but since I have to take one of the kids with me (the others area at a church thing this weekend) I will try to let him sleep as long as possible. I was looking at the box of the Dell Mini and they blacked out something on the "specifications" l -
So I have a couple of questions about laptops and TV's. First the laptops. I'm thinking of trying to get one of the Wal-mart specials in the morning (It's a "HP 15.6" Pavilion G60-519WM Entertainment Laptop PC with Intel Celeron Processor 900 & Windows 7 Home Premium") . Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for? We have a 5 year old Dell desktop so I'm thinking I'd be happy with whatever is out these days but all the numbers and letters and strange words confuse me. My brother said the Wal-mart one is going to be slow but I'm wondering if it will be any slower that what we u

I have two kids going. I'm so excited for them. I was hoping they would get their T-shirts last night so they could wear them to school today but oh well. I bet they will want to where them Monday. I don't know how to explain what it is but I'll try. I think it's kind of like a retreat for the middle and high school students. They stay in groups of 5-10 kids in various homes and get together at other times with everyone to do stuff at the church and other places. At least that is my perception of it. I would say it's like camp except they are split up in different locations at night

what are you getting your kids for Christmas
brown*eyed*girl replied to myrlin's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I remember the American Girl Doll years. The first Christmas my daughter got one was one of the best. I am actually headed to the American Girl store tomorrow but not for my daughter. She's in middle school now. Well, first I'll say what I want to get my kids. I'd love to get my 7th grade daughter a laptop. She's been asking for one for 3 years. I'd love to get my 6th grade son either this video camera he has been eyeing for about 6 months or a Playstation 3. What they are probably going to get are $100 Visa giftcards ( or a $100 bill) and then 3 other gifts (like the wise man)
