That's the thing, parents do not always know or do whats best. There are some seriously screwed up people in this world who are out there raising children. They make choices that are not in the best interest of the child which forces the state to step in since they have a duty to protect the child. Does that lady fit this category? Who knows? What I do know is a doctor was concerned enough to involve the child protection services who agreed with the findings. They presented the case to a judge who also agreed and found cause to issue a warrant directing workers to place the child into

No...I just realize our society is not chaotic because we are a nation of laws and I believe our court system is the fairest in the world. The lady had relief for her situation, she could challenge the states findings in court with a judge. Instead she chose to escalate to violence with a firearm which solved nothing. Now she has to deal with the legal issues she created along with the original issue which did not go away.

Well first....what is lawful and unlawful on situations like this is pretty much a decision reserved for the courts. Given there was a warrant it is hard to catagorize it as unlawful. Second, I guarantee shooting a gun inside a house is not the proper response. While it is easy to spark controversy by titling it 'arrested because she would not medicate her child'. Reality is she was arrested for assaulting people with a firearm instead of handling her disagreement with the findings the proper way, in court.

I really can't find humor in such misery. What a horrible life.

I do not know if I would call Lindsey Lake a 'lake', more like a pond.

Simple, because there are lots of speeders in those areas. Heck....there are lots of speeders everywhere. Everytime I am on the road I am constantly passed by people going 15 to 20 over. Its not like LE has to look hard to find poor drivers.

The DDS assigns points based on infractions forwarded from the courts. The judge has nothing to do with it.

They are paid spokesmen....nothing more. It is a commercial using your local radio personality because the consumer is familiar with the voice.

Picking students up at school with a machine gun in your car?

That is wrong....weapons are legal for permit holders as long as they are contained within the vehicle at all times. There is a specific exemption in state law for it. -

Yes it is, just not in a school zone. You have to be over 21 and have a permit to legally possess a weapon while inside a vehicle on school property. -

Goes to the store and buys it. 18 is legal for a rifle. -
It is a bad situation.....tax dollars keep dropping but peoples expectations of services do not. Everyone sits back and says just slash the budget, until you propose cutting back on the services they personally care about, then those cuts should be in other areas.

We have traveled several times with BC and drivers license. We always bring our marriage certificate but no one has looked at it yet. Just make sure you have state issued BC's with the seal, the hospital copy is worthless. And don't worry about being stranded in a foreign country if the unexpected happens. The State Department is well aware of the cruise ship exemption which they enacted with the latest travel regulations. There is some paperwork that needs to be filed but you will be given clearance to renter the country.

Which means he refused to go through the scanner so they would have to pat him down. -

These politicians kill me. Every one of his supporters should be embarrassed.

Great...but.many people want more. That does not make either one right or better than the other. It comes down to personal preference.

I just don't understand why you feel that way just because the company released an updated product. I would say it is the exact opposite, they are trying to expand their customer base by offering a product with specs that will place it at the top of the class when new customers are comparing tablets. While there is a percentage of current customers who will upgrade just to have the latest thing on the market, the vast majority will keep what they have and be happy with it. All technology is that way, the computer you buy today has obsolete hardware in it 6 months down the road. The

That is fine, the majority of Apple consumers do not upgrade from one model to the next. I also know plenty of people with older iPods and iPads that are perfectly happy with them. However, that does not change the fact that in the technology world if you stand still you will be left behind. If you do not update your products with the latest features you allow yourself to be surpassed by others who do. A big part of Apples business model is they attract new customers because their product is innovative and full of the latest and greatest features. That is what separates them from the

The first Ipad is 11.5 months old. A yearly upgrade is really not that fast.

Better hurry. If the roots are not well established before the summer heat arrives it will die. I found out the hard way last year. I watered it every day and had it 4 inches high, it died off withing the first week of 90 degree temps.
