  1. what I used to say, when I read the awful things that used to go on here!!! It's a much friendlier place now; no one attacks others for their opinions or thoughts...NICE
  2. my family had weird things happen with one, when we were preteens; told things that were going on in other rooms that were true, and really bad predictions for future; scared of them ever since..I don't care what color, I'll never be near one again.
  3. Get one of the pill holders..a section for each day...we put vitamins, meds in those...even have one with a.m. and p.m. sections in one container.
  4. May God bless you and your family's cholesterol levels and weight, during this adventure.
  5. and the confusion goes on...do your OWN homework before giving your hard earned money to ANY organization I fully trust Samaritan's Purse (Franklin Graham's organization), especially after seeing them in action during our own flood relief effort...you can see what they are doing now: http://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/articles/responding_to_haiti_earthquake/

  7. I taught in a school in AL where a father drove through the bad weather to take his son to school...which had been cancelled. On his way back home, his car slid into a creek and he died...son survived. ALL JUST TO TAKE HIS SON TO SCHOOL??? AYP??? And risk lives for that or anything else????
  8. it will depend on if there are large areas with ice in Cobb...friend in P.Springs says not there, but Cobb has NEVER called off school as soon as others...I remember years when the superintendent would have someone drive him around the county early in the mornings to check it out himself, before calling it!!
  9. RUDE is the answer. When our neighbor is having friends over, she parks her van in front of OUR house, blocking OUR mailbox. When HER yardman comes, he parks in front of OUR house, blocking our for sale sign.
  10. Cobb has a Twitter account, but nothing has been tweeted!!!
  11. they are beautiful, noble animals, for sure
  12. the program is free, but at many, you pay for lunches at about $20/week; that is often a shock for families.
  13. Love, love, love SUVs, would never go back to a car, due to ease of loading anything, height in traffic, at drive thru windows etc. I bought last 2 at Carmax...one was a lemon and they took it back (within a month with detailed records of problems I made) with no problems. I may have paid a bit more, but was a single woman buying, and I felt safe there. They do exhaustive vehicle inspections also before putting vehicles on lots. Sales people make flat fee/car so there's no pressure to buy higher priced vehicles than what you are wanting. That's where I'll go for my next one, even with a
  14. Well, floormats I bought for DH's truck....had only 3...missing the passenger side one!!!!...didn't even notice as I bought or wrapped...so now I have to pay the price of returning...
  15. Who read directions on those little things??????? BUT, thanks!! I will pass on the unread directions for new batteries!!!! YES, the wheel and tubing is a mess...hamster goes up tube, but can't get inside wheel to go around, without being repositioned...junk (but so cute!!)
  16. Hey, it's southern tradition!!! We love New Year's Day food; collards (cooked in chicken broth with a bit of bacon), blackeyed peas, hoppin' john, slaw, hellfire cornbread, and whatever anyone else brings!
  17. I am so very sorry for your loss of this precious part of your life...she was adorable.
  18. tomorrow, since I got it up early this year and I'm ready to get back to normal
  19. Well, I was able to get my hands on one of the "hottest and hardest to find toys for Christmas" hamsters for little kids for $8.00. Out of 3, only 1 worked well for longer than an hour. One child said, "maybe mine is just really sleepy and doesn't want to run around anymore." I'm so glad I'm not one of the folks who paid up to $50 for one of these little critters. The media got us again.
