  1. The kid goes to East Paulding HS... My son said the story Stan is giving at school is that: He has a Bulgarian driver's license. He ran because his dad had the alcohol in the trunk and he was afraid he would get in trouble for that. The car is his father's. That being said ... I questioned my son how long Stan has been in the U.S., as in when did he have time to get a Bulgarian license ... ? Then I looked up... http://bulgaria.angloinfo.com/countries/bulgaria/drivlicence.asp The legal minimum age for driving in Bulgaria is 18 years. This was yet another oppor
  2. Several months ago I walked into the family room and the TV was on The 700 Club. Not sure why because no one watches The 700 Club here. Anyway ... I can't remember what he was babbling about, but it did not seem biblical AT ALL. I kinda wondered if he wasn't loosing it at that time.
  3. From your link.... The blockade appeared to defy a federal restraining order issued last week against the union after it was accused of assaults and death threats. EGT chief executive Larry Clarke said it was unfortunate that law enforcement needed to make arrests. And why is it is so shocking that the company no longer wants to employ them?
  4. Wow…the benefits themselves are rare to find. What skill set, or job skills does she have where there are two jobs with benefits? She sure is short term content. The longer out of work the fewer companies will consider hiring her. I can’t imagine being on welfare or unemployment gives a sense of financial security. As Mrs. G stated there are so many out there in true need, it’s just a matter of time there is no more that people can give, and that means she will have nothing. Some people just make bad decisions. I don’t think I would be able to keep this person
  5. Ear drops in the eye might not be good... but crazy glue is BAD. I worked with a woman who had dry eyes and contacts and she constantly would grab the eye drops out of her purse and put drops in her eyes. She did it so quickly you hardly noticed she had done it. She also had acrylic nails. She had stuck the little bottle that is shaped like eye drops that has crazy glue in it in her purse to fix a nail. Per usual she was talking and grabbed the bottle without looking at it put the drop in her first eye... then she realized something was wrong. She never thought about the fact th
  6. Pink eye must be going around; I worked with a woman yesterday who had to pick up her middle school daughter from school due to pink eye! I hate that disease! So much washing of sheets, towels, clothes, door knobs, and switch plates in the house!!!!! AND the drops!!!! Get better soon.
  7. I will probably crack the windows for the fresh air ... I think I forgot what fresh air was this summer! I wish we would have this weather for another 5 months!!! It is perfect... add a clear sunny day with this temp ... and what a celebration!!!!!
  8. They have the new guns and they are moving to a new field off Cobb Parkway.
  9. Outdoor Laser Tag ...they go home hot and sweaty, but they don't have paint or welts on them like air soft or paintball. http://www.lazertagusa.com/contact-pf.htm
  10. Our HOA will sent a snotty gram to people who do that ... but I don't know of any municipal code.
  11. My kids mow neighbor's yards and do odd jobs for them... but keep in mind, there are many adults out there hustling for the jobs teens used to do. Once the kids are working for a neighbor, they usually have interest from others. Some don't want the full year contract on yard services...or they just need to get past a busy time they don't have the time to do it themselves. My son just finished painting a neighbor's deck. We had another neighbor who had a new knee put in so my son raked up the leaves for him last fall since the new knee was not ready for use. A year ago m
  12. In 2007 we drove along the Gulf through Mississippi. I had never seen the gulf coast and was curious about the beaches and wanted to see what recovery was going on after Katrina. Very little had been rebuilt, but the crazy thing was... every few miles there was yet another shiny BRAND NEW Waffle House. They were built up 5 or 6 feet taller than the land they sat on (I guess so if a tropical storm came they might not flood) ...but I’m sure they would again be swept off the foundation if another hurricane hit. There was nothing else along the beaches so that was the place where ever
  13. You must have forgotten ...even though school just started Paulding County will have September 19th to 23rd off.
  14. Me too! -Thanks! Of course hubbie says I have so many favorites he can't find anything.... but I know what I am looking for!!!!!
  15. SO true! Yep..... My husband was gloating to the son. "Well, your mom has one less thing to watch on TV now... and it helps us out." (They could care less about watching people dance.) "She won't watch Nancy Grace." I don't know any of the other "stars" anyway. Burn Notice, White Collar, Covert Affairs, Royal Pains, DWTSWeather Channel, and the news.
  16. It's the 70's all over again! I don't think that is the worst ... just silly.
  17. Excited is the wrong word ... but psychologically it is going down ... and that price is better than $3.98!
  18. He will be charged as an adult in the great grandmother's death. Maybe he will get some help once locked up ... they might have time to rehabilitate him ... he would not have help if he stayed with his family I bet. So sad.
  19. Seems like there are several local choices still.
  20. Several have said good thing about Paulding Waste Disposal. I also challenged her to take it to the CEO and CFO that creating ill will by trying to charge a cancellation fee was not winning them any alliance in such a close knit community as Paulding. Especially charging customers who did not sign up to be with the company, but were bought out, and then received poor service … I told her that her immediate bosses should also be told. I explained that many in our community prefer to support local business; however some like me had given WI another chance because they s
  21. Shock of Shocks!!!! ...Nancy JUST called back and told me "I spoke with accounting and they "took off" the $20.00 cancellation fee." I asked "Is my account at a zero balance and "current?" She said "Yes it is." (Remember I was calling about the $12.88.) I am VERY pleasantly surprised! I thought this was going to take several more weeks.
  22. So true VERITAS …. Today I spoke with “Supervisor” Nancy …at least when I asked to speak with a supervisor she said she was one? So who knows? Nancy tried to tell me the 60 days "past due" of $12.88 was part of my cancellation fee. In reality the $12.88 is for August service that American billed me for… (I cancelled the last week of July) I told her that was simply untrue because they were saying it was 60 days past due. (Don't lie to me. ) I told her on the invoice I received dated 5-15-11 they showed me with a credit of $25.97 (remember I had paid Davis for 6 months
  23. I goggled and started reading... Thanks for the thread ... will study more... It apparently sort of scrubs the colon clean, due to its unique hardness and sharpness. It gets into the bloodstream in small amounts and helps clear the arteries, too, bringing down blood pressure and cholesterol. It also kills parasites and attracts and absorbs heavy metals and pesticide and drug residues. It's also a good source of minerals, and of course silica. People report improvement in joint and ligament pain, skin, the list goes on... Hubby has cholesterol issues and they say it can bring down
  24. How do you take it? Do you drink it, rub it on you, or what? Very interesting. I have used it in the garden...the bugs that crawl over it get "cut" and dry out and die. It is organic. will not hurt us... but I would never think to use it on myself. TIA
