I was even excited about a Food Lion - they have good produce, and nice pork and beef prices. Yep ... I had the same feeling as when I go to a surplus store... without the name brands? Stuff displayed on a pallet, or really old shelves. You get what is there at the time. I have only been once...the milk price was very good... but I never needed to go to ALDI again.

We tell our kids.... "It's what you learn after you know it all that counts!"

My mother told me if I did not sit down while taking my temperature, my temperature would go up. I’m sure it was to get me to sit down so I did not break the mercury filled thermometers we used WAY BACK THEN!!! I was telling that to a child as I took their temperature (I was around 20 years old)...another adult looked at me amused... I thought about what I had JUST said...a HUGE light bulb went off and I realized that was a LIE. Running around, or moving did not make your temperature go up!!!! How silly I had been to never think through or question what my mom had

My son and I saw this last night ... didn't hear all the details. He said "If there are adults that want to give them a couple of bucks for some lemonade they probably don't even want ... but are pleased to encourage entrepreneurship... as well as "WORKING FOR WHAT YOU GET" … why would the police be that petty?” It has been fun over the 13 years I have lived in our subdivision to watch each "generation" hold their lemonade stand ... each year it is a different group of kids ...rarely have the same clique of kids held a stand the next year. This is so dumb. AND as you s

Guide those who are dressing to distract and disrupt. Other than that the kids are there to learn.

Yep. It seems each school will enforce as they see fit. Different teachers have different tolerance to clothes too. My son had friends who "tested" EPHS faculty many years ago. The group of friends had noticed the faculty picked on the non ethnic females and males for dress code, but did not want to stir up anything with students who might claim discrimination. Hmmmmm.... Two girls from the group of friends wore the same outfit. The skirts were too short. One girl was black, one was white. Only one was sent to get new clothes that day. And yes the white student was

I spoke with my doctor in 1991 about donating, however my doctor said that even thought I had read about it, it was not being done in our city. I am surprised how specialized the list is still. I would have thought by now they would have so many more uses for it, as well as demand. http://www.marrow.org/HELP/Donate_Cord_Blood_Share_Life/How_to_Donate_Cord_Blood/CB_Participating_Hospitals/nmdp_cord_blood_hospitals.pl

Using the Ped Egg IS disgusting if you look at what it shaves off… but it worked. Grossed my kids out seeing the skin in the trash can too! Yuck! A friend, who my husband was helping move, was throwing out a new one. My husband said I can use that. Our back door was installed so poorly that you can see sunlight come through the side at the bottom. In the winter there is a terrible draft. I had been shutting a towel in the door to stop the draft. Instead, now we use this thing. It is not used on the floor, but on the side- under the door knob to the floor.

OUCH!!! Mine was $242.00 ... $12.00 less that last month ...however I was re-determined to bump the temp up when we were not in the house!!! Are you sure you don't need a little Freon? It may be running too much due to not working efficiently? -
I guess she should have had an arranged marriage for her son so he could have stayed in the society she likes to associate with. However, since she is on her third marriage...perhaps she realized that was a skill she had not yet mastered! She should have expressed her concern to her son, not her future DIL. I bet MIL won't be invited over very often...forget being at the Christmas or Thanksgiving table ... unless her son is a spineless Momma's Boy who will not stand up for his wife. This very well could be the case since she seems to have no boundaries. I see some of her

Thunderstorm went through quickly here (120 & 92.) Not too much wind... hard rain ...now sun with stray clouds. Grass is loving it, but needs to be mowed and edged. It is hard to edge when the soil is wet, the clay gets all stuck in the housing and the blade won't go around anymore! Ugh! I had hoped today would be rain free (let the grass dry out some)then I could get the grass mowed tomorrow before possible thunderstorms. It looks like we have 3 or 4 days of full sun and HOT after tomorrow!

So weird I read on Yahoo TWO DAYS AGO that Glen Campbell is in the early stage of Alzheimer’s …there was a link to a 2008 announcement that PETER FALK had Alzheimer’s and his daughter tried to take control of her father’s estate through conservatorship . In the end the courts gave it to his wife since the daughter had been estranged for 20 years. There was no update on how Peter Falk had been doing since 2008, and I thought it odd that they linked the two stories. My high schooler said, OHHHHH ... he was the grandpa in Princess Bride! Then we discussed his Colombo role. We

I guess that is where the news media - all of them- have to put the pressure on to investigate, until so many people understand the corruption and call for an ouster or impeachment. If all media is asking the hard questions they cannot retaliate. Deal will be in a box, not the media. I was hoping he would be thrown out for corruption, and then we would have a chance for someone ethical to step forward and run. I now wonder if any ethical politician originates from GA.

Outside Bugs....spiders, ants (all kinds) and other bugs
Gone replied to GeorgiaTornado's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My son's girlfriend's parents, who live on 7 acres or so, did the chicken route. It decreased many of the spiders and bugs, but not the ants like they had hoped. But three years later what started out as a way to get rid of bugs has now grown into a hobby. Each year they have add more variety of chickens. I love the eggs they are just beautiful. All sorts of colors, speckled and non-speckled. Nothing better than fresh eggs! -

I use "Spectracide - Triazicide Insect Killer Once & Done." Most stores that sell garden chemicals have this. (Wal-mart, Home Depot, Lowes, Target, etcetera...) It used to be called "Once and Done" ... then, "Triazicide Once and Done" … now they highlight the Manufacturer Spectracide. I use the liquid in the bottle you attach to your hose and spray. However I also use the granules at the start of the season when I want to get the grubs, ants, and fleas in the ground. I think the granuals lasts longer, but it is not for flying insects. Together they make for a healthy yard for
