I have never said that a 2 year degree is the same as a 4 year degree, but to think that someone that has an advanced education over and above high school is less than you are, now that is "ridiculous". I am sorry that a few of you do not see the value of a 2 year degree. I do feel that a 2 year degree from a state college is not extremely valuable because you only take core classes, but I have a 2 year degree from a technical college. I think that it is a great idea to try and retrain to do something other than what you have been doing. You do not necessarily need to go to a 4 year school to get retrained in something different; go to a technical school. If this is something that is going to take place, I think that there should be extremely strict regulations that need to be in place and a governmental agency that does nothing but follow these individuals. I honestly do not think that everyone is capable of owning a home as it is a big responsibility. There are people that are better off as renters. When we purchased our first home we actually had to have a downpayment, nothing called an 80/20 back then.
