  1. That game was waaaaayyyyy too close! I love my Tide, but they did not play very well at all. I couldn't even keep watching, but I listened. You could tell that McCarron took it all on himself that things were not going as planned. Hopefully no more that close!
  2. Wow we still have the leather Members Only jacket that I bought my husband when we were dating.
  3. Ok guys, so who do you all think Jimmy Smits really is? He has got to be somebody big (CIA, DEA, or a leader in the cartel). I understand that this is to be the final season.
  4. What about Chicken World? Their sign is gone and I am wondering if they are now officially closed also.
  5. This is a very heart wrenching time for those of us that knew Rhonda and her whole family. We ask that you please refrain from making snap judgments on this situation until all of the evidence comes to light. She was part of a wonderful family and she will be missed. No I had not seen her in many years, but from others that were still close to her, she had a wonderful, giving heart. So TP, please shut down this conversation.
  6. This started a while back because my husband started receiving them on his work cell phone over a month ago. Most cell phones have caller I.D. on them, so I just won't answer it if I don't recognize the number.
  7. I don't know if they are still there or not, but I did notice their signs back up at the Shell station down the road. The station that used to be Top of the Ridge restaurant.
  8. Yep and they don't pay their employees either. Hope they stay closed if that is how they conduct business!
  9. I do not have time to watch this entire video. Is there somewhere that you can just see the maps of what they "are going to do with the money"?
  10. The only other pizza place that I recall being there was a Little Caesars in the Kmart.
  11. I have never said that a 2 year degree is the same as a 4 year degree, but to think that someone that has an advanced education over and above high school is less than you are, now that is "ridiculous". There are a tremendous amount of very smart individuals that did not even have the opportunity to go to college (like my husband) because he was helping his single mother put food on the table starting at the age of 14 and helping to keep a roof over his sister's head. Good luck keeping happy and motivated employees with that type of attitude. Degrees are fine and dandy, but they definitely do
  12. BS Darling, I am EXTREMELY qualified, you have NO IDEA!! Again, I have worked with individuals with 4 years degrees. Most of the ones that I have worked with are not the brightest bulbs in the pack; they can't even get jobs in the fields that they studied for. You can't possibly tell me that someone that has a degree in English Literature knows anything about how to run multi-million dollar warehousing operation. They walk around like the cock in the henhouse, then come to me to ask how to do things that they have no idea how to do. BTW, I have the opportunity to attend a 4 year college, but A
  13. I am sorry that a few of you do not see the value of a 2 year degree. I do feel that a 2 year degree from a state college is not extremely valuable because you only take core classes, but I have a 2 year degree from a technical college. Believe me, I was put through the paces with my studies; not only learning core classes such as Accounting, (2) semesters of English, College Algebra, Economics, etc., but also taking on a multitude of business classes. I have no doubt that I could go through a 4 year college with no problems, but I have chosen not to because of my age. With my 25+ years of on-
  14. Whew! Hope you have lots of money! There were four of us that went about 7 years ago and our bill was around $260.00. It was good, but not that good!
  15. I saw a really good urologist over in the doctors building in Hiram. I don't know the name of the group, but I believe his name was Greg Schmidt. Very kind and listens to what you have to say. Recommended him to my MIL and she loved him also.
  16. I think, in terms of Cobb and Paulding, Cobb has a completely different socio-economic population than Paulding. I would believe that there are more executives in Cobb and that their per person salary is much higher than here. In other words, there are more people there that still have their jobs than in Paulding.
  17. Sorry, these are definitely not good on gas. We had a '72 Corvette and it was horrible.
  18. I completely understand what you are saying about life continuing during the retraining. I was unemployed during some of my time during school (approx. 8 months). My husband was still employed and we made changes in our lifestyle and spending habits during this time. There were many nights when I was up at 2 or 3:00 in the morning trying to stay on top of my classes while I was working. My son was also enrolled in a technical school, so our school expenses were doubled. According to your income, you may be able to receive the Pell Grant and you can do classes at night and online. Once I starte
  19. I think that it is a great idea to try and retrain to do something other than what you have been doing. You do not necessarily need to go to a 4 year school to get retrained in something different; go to a technical school. You can attend technical school using the Hope Grant and not have to pay too much out of pocket; I did it myself and I am almost 50 years old. It took me three years, but I graduated in December with my Associates Degree in Business Management. Also, by being in school, I networked with professors and staff and one of those professors recommended me for the job that I now h
  20. If this is something that is going to take place, I think that there should be extremely strict regulations that need to be in place and a governmental agency that does nothing but follow these individuals. The regulations need to be something like they have to have valid drivers licenses, carry auto insurance, no in-state tuition (since they are not citizens), they should be made to file tax returns and to be W-2'd employees instead of 1099'd independent or sub contractors, they should not be allowed to draw off of the SS or Medicaid system until they have paid into it for so many years (i.e.
  21. I think what other posters are trying to say is that yes, these are hard economic times and yes, young people these days will find it harder than 10 years ago to purchase a home. On the other hand, prices on many homes right now are extremely low. When my husband and I graduated from high school in 1980 the economy was not so wonderful either. We did not jump into marriage or babies like so many young people these days. I got a job (my husband had been and still is employed at the same company since he was 16 years old), then I got a different job, progressing along the way. After 5 years of d
  22. Please post here if you decide to do another one at this location, but at a later time during the day. I don't get off work in Marietta until 4:45, so this is not doable.
  23. Hey, you don't happen to have any real surfboards up there do you?
  24. I honestly do not think that everyone is capable of owning a home as it is a big responsibility. There are people that are better off as renters. When we purchased our first home we actually had to have a downpayment, nothing called an 80/20 back then. It is something that we worked for and not just woke up one morning and thought, wow let's go buy a house! I strongly believe that it is something that should be worked for and not just easily obtained.
