I'm not sure why someone would want to put their child or ANY OTHER child in harms way by sending them to school when the roads aren't safe. So many have faced so much devistation. I understand the need to work... my husband WASN'T able to get to work and looks like he won't be able to tomorrow either. I know how difficult being out of work is, but safety much more important... right now it ISN"T safe

My hubby works on Thornton Road too... Lithia Springs. It took him FOREVER to get home. Very concerned about the morning.

They wern't talking about getting emergency crews to them... I'm assuming because they are safe. The school is in no danger of flooding, it's that parent's can't get to it.... I'm telling you... I'd swim if I had to, and hand my little man his swimmies and say come on, we're going swimming!!! or at least I'd swim in and spend the night with him.

Oh my goodness, all of this is almost too much to bear, but the thought of my child being away from me would be just TOO much!!!!! There are kids still there, have been there since before 8am.... parents can't get to them!!!!! Saying a prayer for everyone effeccted by this devistation.

I think they said Williams Lake road... IN THE LAKE!! 3 or 4 teens stranded on the roof. Just turned the scanner off... gotta try to get a little sleep while I can. Grayce is right... Waters road. I'm tired.

Heard the same thing... that's the time we got the worst last night too!!! My 5 year old was awake from 2-3 am.... gonna be lots of tired kids if there is school tomorrow. DOT is out of road closed signs!!!!!! Now using water in roadway signs and crime scene tape. Richfield Subdivision... lightning strike... where is that???

Had never thought that they may close schools.... but the weather is BAD!!!!

My pediatrician just told me that the recomendation was 1 chore per year of age. So my son is 5, he has 5 chores... takes the dishes to the table, feeds the dogs, let's the dogs out, picks up his toys, makes his bed. Not even going to pretend that my house is organized, but I did have that tip on what to give the kids to do.

I cook mine on the grill, in the oven or slice and fry like chops, but they melt in your mouth
