Ooh - weather nerd twins!

I read up on Lady Gaga, since I know nothing about her except her zany image. She has a heavy performing arts background, and it surely shows in the Sound of Music clip from the Oscars. Definitely knew what she was doing. My guess is her zany image (for lack of a better expression) is part her expressing her individuality and part to get attention since it's kinda hard to stand out if you're not 14 in music anymore.

I gave up on TWC a long time ago. Geez - even before NBC bought them, they were bad, but now they are outright pathetic. They rarely do anything weather, and when they do, it's goofy, like this. I now watch Weather Nation on DirecTV channel 361 (one down from TWC). They do real weather, without sensationalism and without commentary.

My mother and I were discussing this the other night. Every church with a fellowship hall or rec room/building should open its doors during weather like this to those who need it (not just homeless...maybe poor living in poorly heated living quarters, etc.). Cots, etc., could be gotten from Red Cross or volunteers with sleeping bags. Wouldn't have to do much - have a couple of security guards on duty, serve toast and juice for breakfast and they could probably get area restaurants to donate lunch/dinner. THAT is what they should do.
