Oh, I don't want her grown...I just want earmuffs or a magic 'volume' button for the house. Too much to do to take a nap, but I wouldn't mind if *she* took one. Hmmm, if it only worked the other way around

I'm more than a little upset - she was one of my favorite actresses. I think I'm gonna have a marathon of her movies tonight.

Check the Marietta Square - normally it's posted on their website. The santa there is crazy realistic (and his wife is a p.com member )

Have you ever had one of those days where, while everything is technically 'right' in your world, the noise and crazy events just make you want to hit a 'reset' button or lock yourself in your room all day? My day started out with my step-mom calling me at some ungodly hour about coming and picking up a kitchen table despite the fact that I just told her yesterday the other half has to work today and I'm lacking manpower to move the whole antique thing by myself. I slept through the ringing phone, but the answering machine woke me up. Gah! So...I was up for the day. I wake up, groggily sta

My dad was a police officer and I remember many more Christmas days without him than with. When his shift fell on Christmas, we would wake up really early for Santa, and then exchange family gifts when he got home from work. We also started the tradition of opening a gift the night before when we were all together.

I've never heard of such. And I know I don't have staph infection. **looking at nails**

Tracy's Nails behind Starbucks @ Crossroads is open on Sunday. The nail place next to BodyPlex is *awesome*, but I don't know their Sunday hours.

Seems like we all had the same thing run through our minds.

I read the title and automatically thought 'Fa-ra-ra-ra-ra'....what flippin' movie was that?

Your favorite thing about the Christmas season

My two week 'mandatory vacation' is my least and most favorite thing. Least because half of it is unpaid. Most because I get to spend two weeks cleaning and doing artsy stuff while little bit is in school, pick her up early, and spend lots of time with her each and every day. -

I've never done it in a restaurant, but I do it in line at the drive-thru or standing in line somewhere on campus. I got the idea when somebody did it for me once. They guy didn't even know me, didn't know my situation, just saw me and the little one and said 'I want ____ and whatever they're getting'.

Drunk 4year old steals Christmas presents!

Not at all! When we first moved in and she went to open the door, it went off. She stopped, looked around for a second, and said 'You can't be serious.' She hasn't actually tried to escape since we moved. I think it helps that we no longer live immediately next to a playgroud (it was at the end of our breezeway). It also helps that we somewhat had her sleeping issues under control, so she's not wide awake and 'bored' in the middle of the night. -
It's my favorite. Thanks! I hope not. I don't remember my first Santa experiences. Oh, she is. My boss sent me home with a giant woodsy santa doll yesterday and she slept with it. Nope! That's what he has elves for? Oh.My.Goodness - your little one just gets more and more beautiful every time I see your avatar update. Oh, she'd love you! Blue eyed people are, apparently, very special.

Okay, yes I do think the kid is going to wind up messed up (and is already a little 'off') because of his parents. I think it's sad, and I do think his mother was making excuses. BUT 1) It's perfectly normal for a child to want to do what their parents are doing or be where their parents are. It's not the mom's fault that the father is in jail and it is natural for the child to want to be with the father, so blaming her for the child wanting to be in jail with his dad is a little much. She had alot of fault in this, but she definitely can't be to blame for the child wanting to see and be -

What do you not like about this time of year?
lilgallowsmama replied to frustrated's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Oh yeah! I forgot to add that I dread family. My parents were divorced and remarried - I have a zillion different families. Now the ex and I are divorced, so the little one has even more families than I did. For some reason, they don't comprehend that we just can't handle 5-8+ gatherings, with a 5 year old, spread over 4 counties, plus Santa, in less than 36 hours. I always wind up in tears by into the whole ordeal. -

I dread The Christmas Story - which stinks, because it's the other half's favorite Christmas movie and he'd probably watch it every day if I didn't boycott it. I also dread sad Christmas songs, and the Jingle Bell Rock. -
I don't do resolutions, I do yearly 'goals'. Last year my 'goal' was to get back into college and finally work on becoming the strong/happy/confident person I've always known I could be. It's a slow process, but I think I've made great strides this year. Next year, well...my goal list is pretty darn huge. It includes things like certain grades I want to get in classes, a certain amount of parties I want to book with Slumber Parties, etc.

Pft. I'll give you a hundred bewbie hugs if you can just make my old mayberries reappear. Took me 4 years to gather up all of those and I was >thisclose< to twenty. I don't want to have to start being good all over again.
