  1. A friend of my dad apparently has some really awesome contacts in the North Pole. My dad took Nev to his friend's house for dinner last Monday, and Santa and Mrs. Claus were there! Can you imagine the shock and awe a 5 year old would have to experience to walk into a house and see Santa? If I'm not mistaken, they had dinner and Mrs. Claus read to the children. Dad said Nev asked Santa if he had blue eyes - she's obsessed with finding out if people have blue eyes. Anyway - here's my little one and Santa. And here are two more:
  2. I have no idea. I had bunches, and now I don't even see a place to see them.
  3. mayberries?!? :aggressive: No really, though. I'm looking everywhere, and I can't see them. Anybody else having that problem?
  4. I want this one. http://www.wellappointedhouse.com/Products/148211-childs-victorian-playhouse.aspx
  5. I think that what you did was awesome and I'm really sorry that somebody stuck you with birds.
  6. Completely true. I think that would be the difference. I can look at a naked person and see a subject to draw as opposed to a person to want. The human body is a gorgeous creation - I see it the same way I would/do a sunset, the ocean, a valley hidden in mountains, etc.
  7. I think he tricked you. It would be an early present if you're going now. You're going next year - that's technically late. I bet he's telling you early to make up for it being late. Have fun and send me a post card!
  8. I'm so going to use that. That part is definitely true. I had never intended to draw nudes. I've always done watercolor landscapes. The artist has to branch out, though...atleast to get a degree and especially to get more than one degree. When and where?
  9. I admire the fact that you stand by your beliefs as strongly as you do, even if they differ from mine. It's respectable and I'm definitely not going to judge you for it.
  10. I absolutely don't want somebody with a buff model body. I need real people. I'm lucky enough to have landed a few, even a couple of pregnant ones. Those are the ones I'm looking forward to the most. That seems to be the normal answer. For women, anyway...men are seeming to be much more open to the idea, even if it's a group of guys and girls drawing. This is the way I see it. I can google and find a multitude of 'perfect' to draw. No, jlh, no. You are just about the only person I have a big 'Cannot use as a model' sign on. For the record, if you were to volunte
  11. I had to take a drawing class last semester and, towards the end of the semester, we drew nude models and completed portraits. After class was over and I realized I still have a ton of practicing and work to do for my portfolio to become accepted to the art department, so I posted a facebook status requesting nude models. I have more than a couple lined up, but the conversations that have started both on facebook and off due to that status have me curious about how people view such a thing. So here are my questions: If someone asked you to nude model or talked about it, would you view
  12. Just one. Little one wanted a tree in her room this year, but I didn't give in. Maybe next year.
  13. He says it's too sterile. I'm like 'Honey...you're a paramedic. You're supposed to like sterile'.
  14. You want to computer regenerate my apartment into an Ikea ad? I can't convince the other half that minimalist/modern deco is awesome. He's all for 'cozy'.
  15. I'm partial to dots and stripes. What you have now reminds me of zebra print and I hate animal print. It's your couch, though.
  16. LOVE the couch - it'd look good in your place. Not a big fan of the pillows.

I know, right? I sent you a message a couple of days ago because it wouldn't let me reply - did you get it? I also left you a voicemail a few minutes ago. P.com hates me, apparently.

Hey! For some reason all of your messages to my inbox say 'You cannot respond'. I left for a Slumber Party at 5 yesterday and didn't get home until after midnight. I'll call you when you get out of church today.
  19. that's actually a good idea. I wonder if she really likes it because it's just quiet in there. The dryer is in the laundry room...away from me, away from the dog, away from all outside apartment noise. It's the quietest room in the house.
