So do you think they will shrink the fleet by eliminating the 717's or will they be able to replace them with more 737's? I can't imagine them wanting to shrink the fleet nor can I imagine them being able to come up with that many 737's. Hopefully Mr. O is safe whatever they do. I have quite a few former coworkers at AT. After 17 years in the industry, I'm just glad to be sitting on the sideline watching all of this.

I once heard a Southwest executive say in response to a question that they would never fly to Atlanta because of the congestion. SW does point to point flying while AT is more of a hub and spoke airline. The other unique thing about SW is that they only operate 737's. I think AT currently has around 100 717's and a lesser number of 737's. It will be interesting to see how the differences are resolved since these are some of the perceived "key to success" at SW.

Comcast about to lose another customer
afriendlygeek replied to The Sound Guy's topic in RECENT TOPICS
That's similar to some of my past experiences with them and one of the reasons I am no longer a customer. Consider your situation: you have a pocket full of money to give them if they will just come and install the service. Obviously they want your money because that's why they are in business. What will it be like after they have your money and you need help? -
Another thing to keep in mind if you do not already own a device that will stream movies on your TV is that Roku make makes set top boxes that can be purchased for as low as $60. http://www.roku.com

It was a pleasure helping you. Nighty night WB.

If you select "view by site", does it show sites that have not been recently accessed (like from a week back)?
-
There is a drop-down box in the history display area. Make sure that it is set to "view by date" as opposed to "view by site" or any other option.

No. Jack Lord played the original and he passed away in 1998. I think it would have been cool if they could have worked a picture of him in somewhere. Yep. At the very end!

It reminded me of Lost as well. You really have to stay focused to keep up. With Lost, I watched the first 2 episodes when the aired in 2004 and then did not watch again until June of 2009. At that time I watched the 1st five seasons over a 6 week period and then began watching the weekly episodes in 2010.

You are correct and they already have it posted: http://www.cbs.com/p...xugbXF0e8sw7NPf I'm always skeptical about remakes of shows, especially the ones of shows that were so successful. But I think we have a winner here as long as there continues to be quality scripts. The chemistry between the characters was excellent IMO.

According to the report I just read, the pilot was the only one aboard. This guy is in big trouble now. Everyone knows you must have at least one passenger to legally use an HOV lane. -

Wow - I can't imagine landing during rush hour. Ever since seeing the video below I keep a lookout for aircraft while driving. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_ITIlPvcm0 -
Straight from the FCC: http://www.fcc.gov/c...s/dtvcable.html

The FCC change had nothing to do with cable television. It only effected over the airwaves broadcasting. The only people that were impacted were those that received programming via an antenna. Comcast was the one that decided everyone had to have a box to receive their signal. I had stuck with Comcast for many years simply because I did not want a box, otherwise I would have switched to Dish or Direct. I was fine just plugging the cable into the tv's. Once the box was required, they lost their competitive advantage with me and I jumped ship. I know that the box enables some nice features and p

Welcome aboard. Maybe I'll stop by and check out the 3 for $5 bling.

I think the iPad makes a wonderful reader as long as you are inside or under an umbrella if you are outside. The Kindle ad below illustrates this perfectly. The other advantage that I see with the Kindle is an extremely long battery life which could be important when traveling.
-
Incorrect. The point of the WI-FI is to download books. Web browsing is still in the experimental stage. You also need to remember that the Kindle display is not color.
-
The Kindle comes in both a Wifi model and 3G (Cell phone type connection). You download the book at the time of purchase and it is also available for download on other devices as well such as a computer or smartphone. There is no monthly fee and I think the average book price is around $12. The Pros: Inexpensive and lightweight. The Cons: Small screen and most of the keyboards are about 90% the size of a normal keyboard. They do not have a cd or dvd drive built-in. They work the same when it comes to the net.

what have you had to explain to an older generation

I average two to three unique comments/questions every month pertaining to computers. Some of my favorites: 1. I just spent a week at my daughter's house in Alabama and I noticed that their internet did not have as much stuff on it as ours does in Georgia. They really are behind the times over there. 2. I have spent alot of time downloading the internet to my computer. I can't believe I will have to start all over again since my computer died. 3. I like to watch some of the old stuff that is on Youtube. I tried to show these to my friend on her computer but they cannot get Youtube -
But you are a friendly idiot and nowadays that means alot.

That would make to much sense. Remember this is the government we're talking about. -
You should find all the info you need here: http://www.dtv.gov

I would also recommend doing the following: 1. Do a full scan with your anti-virus. 2. Download and do a full scan with the free version of SuperAntiSpyware. 3. Microsoft released it's monthly security patches yesterday. Do a manual update to see if they have been installed. If not, install them. Instructions are below for each version of Windows: Windows XP Windows Vista Windows 7

Bob has been ice fishing all day fishing with no luck, not even a nibble. Cold and tired he is about to leave, when a guy walks up cuts a hole in the ice beside him, and starts pulling out fish as fast a he can drop his hook in the water. Bob can’t believe it, he yells over ” whats your secret?” “woogatkakeptewrwm” he answers back. “what did you say?” replies Bob. The man spits a large ball of worms on the ice and says to Bob, ” you have to keep your worms warm”.
