  1. Good Morning Everyone It was hard for me to get up and get back into the swing of things, but at the same time, I'm looking forward to getting back into our routine. Regardless of what your kids tell you....they DO have school today. According to the county's calendar, we have an early release day this Wed.. I say this because a friend of mine texted me yesterday telling me that their kids had told her that today is a teacher workday. It is a workday...for teachers and students . Hope everyone has a MARRVEEELLOUS Monday.
  2. I have to say that this year's Thanksgiving was the best for me since before my Mom passed. There was no stress, we let Cracker Barrell do most of the cooking. We ate over at my dad's house, helped him with some things that he needed to get done over there, watched some football, and just hung out. In years past, we have rushed over to DH's family's gathering After DH gets home from work and then we have the drive back home just in time to get me and the kids back to school on Monday. Christmas will also be very low key for us. I'm hoping to have DH's parents over here. From
  3. Thank you. Maybe I can talk my hubby into us trying out the Olive Tree for supper before the big event
  4. Thanks for the update. I guess it was some of the other schools I was thinking about.
  5. I think it is being televised on one of the cable stations...don't know which one.
  6. Personally, I enjoy the holidays. Year before last, when I had my first Christmas without my Momma, I just went through the motions. Since then, I decided to enjoy the Season for her and make the most of what life has given me. I used to stress over all of the presents but this year I have decided the people will get what I can afford After I pay my bills and go from there. At the same time, this time of the year puts my husband in a horribly depressed mood.....something to do with him thinking what he gives to people is never good enough. Thus, he makes this time of the year hard on m

    Fire

Did anyone ever find out if Hudson's was on fire or not? Just wondering.
  8. I wish you had said something before you made the trip. I could have told you that. I noticed it big time when we were on our way back home from our oldest getting married at the first of the month.
  9. Being that today is DS's 17th Birthday, we are going to Stevie B's Pizza tonight for supper...his choice. I will do my cooking tomorrow and Christmas decorations can go up after today...just one of my ways of keeping DS's birthday separate from Christmas.
  10. I Completely think this way. I've already told my hubby that I would LOVE to have our laundry room and kitchen floors replaced rather thany any material gifts. He doesn't like this idea because he doesn't feel that he has given me anything by doing this. He doesn't realize what a relief it would be for me not to see the cracks or have my kitchen floor leaning in or how nice it wold be to not stand on a squishy floor when I'm putting clothes in and out of the washing maching. I am just more of a practical person and am more into doing useful acts rather than giving trival gifts
  11. :DGood Morning Everyone My Baby Boy turns 17 today so we wil be celebrating today.
  12. We still haven't decided what I'm going to do. I'd honestly like to cook, but that is just not the same since Mom passed. If we do eat out, I'm thinking we will go to Cracker Barrell.
  13. Our oldest daughter and her new husband are getting cash/Visa gcs. Lucky for us, that is what they want and need . Not sure about the grandkids yet. They are GS: 4yo, and GDs 3yo,2yo,1 yo. Our 17 year old son wants tools and money. If we are able to get the 200 piece tool set that Sears has on sale Friday morning, he will get that and a gas card,. Our 4.5 year old DD wants EVERYTHING she sees on tv. She is getting a LeapFrog Explorer and accessories, maybe a set of ICarley sheets, and a Barbie.
  14. I have been diagnosed with Hashimotos disease since the Spring of 2004. I have been on Synthroid ever since. I have my levels checked every 3-6 months. I have not had any problems. I will say that loosing weight is a bit harder than before...then again that may have something to do with getting older to. As for my family and thyroid problems...my mom, my aunt, and my grandmother all have/had some type of thyroid disease. For that reason, I have my kids checked regularly.
  15. Do they sell these at Abor Place Mall? If so, I'll be taking DH there this weekend to try them out. I am sooo over what the real cigarettes are doing to his body/lungs. Who knows, this maybe his Christmas present. Thank you all VERY much for the information.
  16. Hubby and I like to go here http://forresthillsresort.com/ for our anniversary...or did until our youngest was born. You can almost pick how much you want to spend. The rustic cabins are Really nice as is the Laurel Inn. It is only about 2 hours from the Atlanta area.
  17. We are both on our 2nd marriage. My first marriage lasted 4.5 years and the divorce took another 21 months to finalize. Dh was married 8 years the first time. We didn't meet or start dating until almost a year after my divorce was final. DH and I will be married 11 years in Jan. We are a match.com couple...dated 3 months before we got married. We have a 24 year old daughter, 33 year old son in law, 4 grandkids (thanks to the new son in law) ranging from 4 yo to 1 yo, a 17 year old son, and a 4 yr old daughter. 19. Oh you can BET we will . I was honestly AMAZED at how loud the Hiram fans were at the Lambert game. I made it over to the home side to see my Band of Gold perform and it made me proud to hear all the cheering. This next game should truly be interesting .
