and you know...the commissioners won't realize their mistake until THEIR house catches fire or THEY get broken into and need a Police Officer. Then I hope, for their sake, that when THEY call 911, THEY don't get put on hold because there aren't enough dispatchers to handle the call volumes. And hopefully, there house won't burn to the ground because there wasn't a firefighter to get to them. And maybe the thief that broke in won't hurt a member of their family while they are waiting on the cops to get there because they were short due to furloughs...

I didn't say that...I just know that it is hard enough WITH the money that my husband makes. There were other ways around it, several other scenarios were proposed. Only ONE of them was to raise taxes. Oh, and do you know what the tax increase would have been, by the way? $87.00 a YEAR for a homeowner with a $200,000 home. So, there were other ways to do it without stealing food from my children.

We have. For the past 3 years...no raises, but they sure have socked it to us in the increases in our insurance...oh, and the cuts to retirement that have been made. Oh, and did we forget that these are our EMERGENY personnel? Good God, they've sacrificed.
