  1. You know, it's almost cheaper in the long run just to use a Temporary agency to weed them out. At least then you get someone who is supposed to be qualified and then if you decide their good enough to hire them then you can pay the Temporary agency their fee and move on. It's probably less expensive than dealing with the folks who just send their resume to every job they see. When I was between jobs back in the mid 80's I did send my resume to some companies - not to specific jobs, even though that's how I knew they were hiring - in order to get my name in front of them in case my qualific
  2. I don't think I'd let a merchant use one on my card. Since they're free it's been known to be used as a card skimmer. So given a choice between a convention card scanner and a free card swipe device attached to someone's phone, I'm going to feel more secure with the traditional route. But that's just me... http://iphone-card-reader-review.toptenreviews.com/square-iphone-credit-card-reader.html
  3. Of course, 'candidate' Barack Obama spoke against the Patriot Act. Just like he spoke against raising the debt ceiling, and against runaway spending, and told everyone he was going to bring all of our boys home for these illegal wars. I wonder where 'candidate' Obama went...
  4. Maybe Obama should take some advice from this Pope.
  5. Some people on here have either got stock in Carnival or have been taking condescending attitude lessons from ZC...
  6. This is what got me... Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders too the company to task in 2011 for paying a Federal Income Tax Rate of 1.1%. Not a typo. Dodgy tax practices aren't what is turning Carnival's massive ships into glorified rafts, but they are indicative of the company's commitment to lower overhead and high returns. The cruise line made a gross profit of roughly $5.377 Billion in 2012. Given that Carnival is known to pay its employees rock bottom salaries -- a Guardian investigation found employees making roughly $1.20 an hour -- it would hardly be surprising if the company was limitin
  7. Of course, I heard the unbiased report as to why retail sales were up. It was mostly due to the $.50 rise in gasoline prices.
  8. Apparently the AJC decided to go with the story while Zoo was out of town. Just wait until she gets back. Someone's gonna be in Trooouuu-ble!
  9. Well, as of this morning a THIRD Carnival ship (this month), Carnival LEGEND, has reported problems and is returning back to port. So perhaps they should rename themselves as CIRCUS CARNIVAL CRUISE LINE - It's not a Cruise, It's an Adventure!
  10. Well, as of this morning a THIRD Carnival ship (this month), Carnival LEGEND, has reported problems and is returning back to port. I guess this was a BAD month to book a cruise with Carnival. Who in their right mind would book a cruise with Carnival after these episodes with Triump, Dream and now Legend? Could it be that Carnival ISN'T putting money into the care and maintenance of their ships as previously reported?
  11. Carnival Dream's Nightmare Cruise: Passengers Report 'Human Waste All Over the Floor' Another catastrophe may be brewing for 23-ship Carnival cruise line. Reports are emerging that passengers on the Carnival Dream, currently docked at St. Maarten, are suffering disgusting conditions. "There's human waste all over the floor in some of the bathrooms and they're overflowing—and in the state rooms," passenger Gregg Stark, who is traveling with his wife and children, told CNN. [/url]Passenger Jonathan Evans emailed CNN Thursday, saying, "We are not allowed off of the boat despite the fa
  12. Of course, everything is roses now. Even the sequester has little effect on the government. Forget about the cancelled White House tours (Obama just didn't want common people in his house anymore). When you search the USA Jobs federal employment website and filter it for positions in the U.S. that have been posted over the past 10 days (since the sequester took effect), the search yielded 2,596 results! These are proposed NEW HIRES! Sequester means nothing to the executive branch of government. The cash-strapped Agriculture Department has 115 job postings in the last 10 days. Over a h
  13. According to some reports they didn't get an extra day in St. Maarten, unless you consider being stuck on the ship while still in port - under orders of the Ship's Captain to keep everyone on board for 'accountability'. And when you're on-board while being docked means NONE of the Casinos would be open! Oh, the horror! Carnival needs to make sure these are controlled, chartered flights back to the US since some passengers (e.g. spring breakers) may not have Passports that would be required for a flight arriving from a foreign destination.
  14. Yep, that's awful! At least wait until the plane is over a small island in the middle of the ocean.
  15. A cruise to the Caribbean where you stop at a different island everyday is a good way to figure out where you might want to come back to and spend a week. The good things about a cruise is you're not stuck (normally) on an island you don't like for very long, you know where to go to get consistent food in case you're afraid of the food on the island, and you know where to go to get in an air conditioned space (again, normally).
  16. You're not judging anyone. The Bible says "Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."
  17. So Carnival is only reimbursing them for a portion of their cruise. I guess the previous incident didn't teach them anything.
  18. If you go to Alaska via a cruise in July then you shouldn't have too much of a problem with mosquitoes. They don't like wind and you won't find many of them unless you go to the interior. We've been to Hawaii several times: Oahu (similar to Florida), Maui (little less crowded and lots of natural things to see - Mt Haleakala, Road to Hana and black sand beaches, The Seven pools, etc), Kauai (they have a little grand canyon there, north shore trip is neat to the caves), and the Big Island (volcano tours, the winery, touring the volcano flows, etc) If I went back I'd fly into Maui, stay a fe

  20. Chaser Non-News Network. Their website hasn't been updated since 2003. That just shows you the lengths that Eddie will go to in order to pull out charts or videos to support his perverted thinking.
  21. I've been listening to the TV this afternoon and they had one fellow on who like Pope John Paul and he said in the interview that he was hoping the the new pope would have taken the name of Pope John Paul George Ringo. He said it, I didn't...
  22. What is the tone of a Crucifix in a jar of Urine? My link I'd have to say, no ones' comments have gone that far.
  23. Just as Muslims become very offended when someone draws a cartoon of or says something derogatory of Muhammad (PBUH), there are people who are also offended by those who want to make a man some name as Pope on the same level as Jesus Christ. Freedom of speech in America is for everyone, not just an elite few.
