When I was young we lived on a small lake on our property. My dad always talked about getting a pool liner that had floatation around the top rim so that you could put it in a lake or pond and fill it with fresh water. That would keep the snakes and fish separated from the swimming area. Since the pool would be in the water there would be no need for expensive structures. Of course, we didn't have the internet back then to search where you could buy one....

Not saying that he didn't do the deed, but this is another example why we need the justice system to work slowly. So many people get outraged at the 'alleged' attack. In America, the arrested is presumed innocent until found guilty by a jury. By the time he comes to trial it is hoped that a jury will make their decision based on the evidence and not based on their own or other people's emotions.

My brother-in-law uses a GPS and he never questions where it is sending him. One time, his wife told us the GPS sent them off into a corn field. He wouldn't listen to his wife, who told him not to go that way. "But dear, the GPS said..."

I use on-line maps to get an overall picture of where I'm going. Often I'll use Google Earth and then Street View to see what the area should look like. Street view on Google Earth is a life saving when I'm on a trip in a foreign country. It almost makes me feel like I've been there before. My GPS (built in) in the car is always on (not guiding me always) and it's nice if I miss a turn so I can see how/where to go around the block to get back on track.
