I don't care about Snopes. I got that from my brother. He's currently in prison. I would consider that a better source. Perhaps it didn't get started there, but it is the 'indicator' now.

Since I know that breakfast servers spent as much time and effort as they would for an evening meal my tip is often 50-75% of the bill for breakfast.

Is America Ready for a "Black Bachlorette"?
Georgia Dawg replied to Magic Mommy's topic in RECENT TOPICS
With those witnesses to her telling you that, you should have had them call the cops because what she did would have got her arrested for Assault. Assault is an act that creates an apprehension in another of an imminent, harmful, or offensive contact. The act consists of a threat of harm accompanied by an apparent, present ability to carry out the threat. -
This "style" was actually begun in the prison. It was used as to indication to the other prisoners that you were "available".

Don't slam me for this until you read it through and consider it thoughtfully. Why should you tip on a percentage of the bill? Do you tip on the total or the pre-tax total? Does it really matter? Since the OP made a point in saying that the servers are paid $2.13 per hour, then why don't you tip based on the TIME you spent in the restaurant? For example, two couples come in for dinner. One couple orders soft drinks and steaks and salads. The other couple orders water to drink and a couple of sandwiches. Both couples consume the same amount of time of the waitress. She still has to

I guess that's okay as long as you don't go to Farmer Vincent Smith's. -
Do You Chicken Out On Making Critical Choices?
Georgia Dawg replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Not sure what's been said in over half of this thread since I have some people on Ignore, but many people, especially Democrats, are perfectly happy in letting someone else make decisions for them because their realize they're just too stupid to make decisions on their own or form their own opinions. -

If they do that, does she have to pick only one or can she pick several to be her 'baby's daddy'? -
Or answer this question: Are you going to stop beating your wife, and stop these gay affairs? A simply Yes or No will do.

White House list of Georgia Sequester cuts
Georgia Dawg replied to barrycdog's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Fear mongering. The Sequestration are not cuts, but reductions to the proposed increased spending for 2013. The spending for 2013 will still be greater than 2012. This is an effort by the Obama administration to punish the American people for not doing what he says to do. -
No Security checks and the Drinks were Free

The only good thing that has happened is to eliminate smoking on those flights. If the airlines would bring back the larger seats, wider aisles, food, and better service, then I would vote for a room in the back where smokers could do their thing. -
The sequestration that is due to take effect tonight at midnight are not 'cuts'. They are reductions to the proposed increases that were planned for 2013. Spending in 2013, even with these sequestration reductions, will still be greater than 2012.

Many people who had good jobs got laid off. They ended up finding jobs paying much less - but then they don't show up on the unemployment numbers. Some took jobs, often offering around 32 hours a week - less than 40 hours so they wouldn't get full benefits. Since ObamaCare has basically defined 32 hours a 'full time' many of these employers are cutting these people back to 24 to 28 hours. But at least they don't show up in the unemployment numbers. So these people have to decide what is more important - food and roof over our family's head, or nice-to-haves like telephone service. So

They run them through a preliminary check. Just because you got your refund doesn't mean everything was okay on your return. They can still audit you. And as this administration is looking harder and harder for additional revenues I can imagine the number of audits are going to be higher this year.
-
It depends on whether or not you filed electronically and whether your refund is going in by direct deposit. That's the fastest way to get it.

I think some people have already touched on it. Our society has begun to disconnect itself from communicating with others in a 'in-person' sense. Just look at the number of people who communicate via text messages rather than calling or going over and having a physical conversation with someone. As far as libraries, many people can do the same research at home on the internet and they don't desire to have that inter-personal contact with anyone at a library.
