A whole house fan is not the same as an attic fan. An attic fan is designed to move hot air from the attic to the outside. Typically an attic fan will be attached to the underside of the roof or on the end of a gable. It pulls make-up air through the soffit vents. Since you appear to have an upstairs and downstairs, do you have one A/c or two A/c units? If you have one unit, some people close down the vents on the 1st floor so that most of the cool air goes upstairs - since cool air will eventually come downstairs anyway. Reverse that process in the winter. First, make sure you have adequate ventilation in the attic. Sometimes people blow in insulation and block the soffit vents so no make-up air can come in to replace the hot air that goes out a ridge vent.

We've had Security Center of Georgia for many, many years. Their monitoring is only $12.50 per month. They use an independent, UL monitoring company. We've never had a problem with them and they've always been prompt and courteous in our dealings with them. And you own the system. We had them installed at our house in Powder Springs and at our home in Hiram.
