  1. I was watching the seagull standing on the smokestack, I thought it was Steven Seagull reminding the Pope that no one is 'Above the Law'.
  2. He was elected by man, not by God. He wasn't even their man's choice, or man's second choice, or man's third choice. I believe Christ was God's first and only choice.
  3. Exactly. He's just a man. And to think that a child-molesting priest is allowed to make you believe that he can absolve you of your sins, I find shocking.
  4. No, More like "Pop goes the Pope/Weasel". Of course it will depend on how he deals with the scandals in the church.
  5. They're all waiting for the Pope to appear at the window. The band below in the square is playing "Pop goes the Weasel"
  6. http://www.slate.com...e_invaders.html Typing two spaces after a period is totally, completely, utterly, and inarguably wrong. http://grammar.quick...f-sentence.aspx One Space After a Period? The New Way http://en.wikipedia....entence_spacing Many experts now say that additional space is not required or desirable between sentences http://desktoppub.ab...netwospaces.htm Today, with the prevalence of proportionally spaced fonts, some believe that the practice is no longer necessary and even detrimental to the appearance of text. http://www.mla.org/s...mlastyle_spaces
  7. I guess that rules out blame to PowderSpringsDad...

  9. Which, today's standard, is ONE space.
  10. The old style, using a typewriter, required 2 spaces after the punctuation at the end of a sentence. The new style, since computers use True Type fonts, is to only have 1 space after punctuation. Yes you were taught in school years ago that it was two spaces. But that was before computers. 1 space is the new standard. Don't date yourself in your documents.
  11. In ancient Greece, Socrates was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem. One day an acquaintance met the great philosopher and said, "Socrates, do you know what I just heard about your friend?" "Hold on a minute," Socrates replied. "Before telling me anything have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?" "No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it and ..." "All right," said Socrates. "So you don't really know if it's true or not. Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?" "No, on the contrary ..." Is what you want to tell me a
  12. It should be. Those mosquitoes in Alaska are the biggest ones I've ever seen. We're in Florida, and during the summer they come around every so often and spray for them. Down here, when a house has been abandoned or goes into foreclosure they come around and put fish in the swimming pool to keep the mosquitoes gone. After we bought this foreclosure down here, they came by to tell me they were going to put fish in my pool. I told them, "Only if you're going to stock it with large-mouth bass..."
  13. We did the Alaska cruise on Princess cruise line the last week of May. That was the least expensive week of the season. Instead of flying internationally (cost more FF points) we flew to Seattle and then took the Super Shuttle bus from there to Vancouver. Very inexpensive and well worth the costs. We flew back from Anchorage so our flights were all considered domestic. We stayed in a inside cabin (cheapest) and went on deck when we wanted to see the sights. The ship stops at a port almost everyday so a balcony cabin wasn't that important to us - not like it is in the Caribbean. Wh
  14. I do have a problem that when I click on a 'View it anyway?" link I'm bombarded with something that is utter nonsense....
  15. I was pleased that "The Bible" series was staying fairly accurate compared to other made-for-TV shows about the Bible.
  16. Alright then, we have nothing to worry about. And that comment from ZC, I think he was trying to push your buttons.
  17. I can afford it, but it is a little more expensive than it has been in the past. The problem is finding it, or being there in line when the store opens after they've gotten their delivery. I buy ammo every chance I get. If nothing else it can be used to swap for food or other basic needs when the economy collapses.
  18. As he imagined others to be looking down on him, when it wasn't the case, it was really just him looking down on himself. Some self-help hints for TP: Look carefully for any hidden agendas. Be aware of criticism that involves circumstances that you cannot change. Create an invisible wall around you in order to protect the sanctity of your being. Be open to constructive criticism. Work closely with people who make you feel good about yourself. Love yourself enough, but not to the point of arrogance. Maintain a neutral stance by staying focused and keeping calm.
