What was that about "global warming", again?
Georgia Dawg replied to glassdogs's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Would you bet your paycheck on a weather forecast for tomorrow? If not, then why should this country bet billions on global warming predictions that have even less foundation? -
Subby, I would recommend Dr. David Gose (pronounced like Rose) at the Paulding center on Bill Carruth on the other side of 278. He's with Wellstar and he's the one who found my aortic aneurysm before it burst, which saved my life.

Anyone have the CD version of TurboTax 2011...
Georgia Dawg replied to AdamnAarens Mom's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Even if the Tax Program itself is corrupted, can't you send them your file directly? You should be able to find it in C:\Users\YourName\Documents\TurboTax\2011 YourName Form 1040 Individual Tax Return.tax2011 Or you can search your hard drive for any file like: *.tax2011 -
Left-lane lurkers could be ticketed under new bill
Georgia Dawg replied to cptlo306's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I think the two lane divided highway is a different situation than a multi-lane interstate highway. However, restricting travel from the far left lane except when passing will do nothing but add to traffic congestion - similar to merging traffic to one less lane of travel. I think the law should state that it is okay to travel in the left lane but if you are being overtaken by a faster moving vehicle then you must move over one lane to let them pass. -
Left-lane lurkers could be ticketed under new bill
Georgia Dawg replied to cptlo306's topic in RECENT TOPICS
If this law passes and is not worded correctly it could cause the remaining lanes of traffic to become overcrowded. Everyone would like to have more lanes on the interstate. It doesn't do any good if the left lane can only be used for passing. If you're in the left lane and you're doing 10 to 15 over the limit, should you move over and left someone behind you who wants to go even faster possibly kill someone down the road? Or have you done your civic duty in preventing that reckless driver behind you from breaking the super speeder law? [\s] -
Left-lane lurkers could be ticketed under new bill

So, if the speed limit on 285 is 65 MPH and you have someone doing 70 and there's someone behind him trying to get around him, the Police can give them both a ticket. A colleague of mine was coming to work down the interstate heading to Bayonne. He was blazing down the interstate until he came up on someone who was only doing 15 miles over the limit in the left lane. So he flashed his lights, tapped his horn, and the guy pulled over out of the left lane. As soon as he got by the slow poke, the 'slow poke' pulled back into the left lane, and turned on his blue lights. He proceeded to writ -
I've got Windows Vista Ultimate on my desktop and haven't ad any problems with network connections. I have on laptop running Windows 7 Enterprise and another running Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise and I haven't had an connection issues with any of these. They will have to drag me kicking and screaming to force me to use Windows 8.

Used to be that way. Now the conversion is almost equal with the US dollar continuing to be devalued against other currencies. Right now the rate is $1.00 US = $1.02 CAN. With the service charge, you'll lose money.

Dead Mice Are Going To Be Dropped On Guam From Helicopters
Georgia Dawg replied to barrycdog's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Careful about dropping too many mice on Guam. As US Representative Hank Johnson, of Decatur, has warned, it might make Guam too heavy and turn over and capsize. -
Illinois state senator pushes anti-anonymity bill
Georgia Dawg replied to barrycdog's topic in RECENT TOPICS
He can take the representative from Georgia (Hank Johnson) who thinks the island of Guam is going to tip over and capsize. Oops! I forgot. People actually elect these guys. Must be some stupid people then. Oh, these same stupid people also elected Cynthia McKinney. -

My panhandle job is paying me more than I was making in Atlanta. And it is definitely less expensive, much lower car tag tax, no food sales tax, no state income tax, and in the winter it 'might' get down into the high 30's.

No, I didn't retire. I'm still working and with no State income tax, I got a 6% raise. We moved to the panhandle so we only 15 minutes from the Gulf beaches and only 5 minutes from the bay. I have a boat in my future. I definitely wouldn't move to South Florida. There are lots of bike lanes and bike paths here, but I haven't started taking advantage of them yet. The biggest change is when we lived in Paulding we would have to fill up our vehicles once or twice a week. Down here we fill up maybe once a month. My wife did retire when she moved down here. However, since being here she'

We did about 1.5 years ago. We went to Florida. We went for warmer weather, less traffic, less crime, no state income taxes, and having everything we needed within 5 miles of our single level house.

I think the first televised execution by lethal injection would be such a disappointment for the viewers. It wouldn't be anything like viewers would expect or have seen played out on TV. If they're going to televise an execution it needs more drama. 1) Turn them loose in a paint ball arena but have the players armed with AR-15s. 2) Turn them loose in an arena and turn Lions loose to devour them. 3) Turn them loose in a bull fighting arena. With some of these they could generate additional revenue with the spectators.

The professionals in the eye center or pharmacy are just a certified as any other professional working elsewhere. The doctor working in the Walmart eye center is not a Walmart employee. Actually, the last time I went to the eye doctor at the Hiram Walmart and she was able to diagnose the problem I had been having that eye doctors all over Marietta were not able to determine. To each their own.

I used to go to the place they had at 377 Glover St down from the Civic Center in Marietta. I don't know if they are still there though.

Yeah, we didn't like the huge plushy pillow-tops either. I'm glad we didn't pay a lot for ours. My wife needs a soft mattress and this one has fit the bill. It's much better having her sleeping in the bed instead of on the couch.
