Among Prison Populations, Which Religions Predominate?
Georgia Dawg replied to eym_sirius's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I think the majority of inmates find religion after they've gone to prison. -
Ah, therein lies the problem.

So I guess if Herman Cain had just confessed that he was Mormon and was just practicing his religion the media would have left him alone???

In this economy he might have been okay with her making a fair amount of money tax-free for just a few hours here and there. -
When we built our home in 1994, we were going to have FHA do the financing. I had it wired for a garbage disposal but the inspector told me to hold off with installing it as FHA wouldn't approve the loan. He did say it was fine to install it after the financing was approved. Maybe that restriction was just on new construction or maybe the rules have changed since then. The number of bedrooms is supposed to help determine the number in the household but we all remember those old 3 bedroom homes with 1 bathroom. Today, a lot of these homes may have as many as 3 1/2 bathrooms, which increases the

This topic made me think of this story… A mother took her little boy to church. While in church the little boy said, "Mommy, I have to pee." The mother said to the little boy, "It's not appropriate to say the word 'pee' in church. So, from now on whenever you have to 'pee' just tell me that you have to'whisper.'" The following Sunday, the little boy went to church with his father and during the service said to his father, "Daddy, I have to whisper." The father looked at him and said, "Okay, why don't you whisper in my ear."

A garbage disposal on a septic tank is a no-no. FHA/VA won't approve them (or at least they didn't used to). The number of bedrooms/bathrooms is used to determine the size required for the tank. The size of tank and perc test determine the size of the field. Plumbers and Septic tanks folks will always want you to pump them more often than you need to. Just like replacing your tires, bed mattresses, etc. We had 4 people on a 1200 gallon tank with a 400' field and it wasn't pumped for over 25 years. When it was inspected, it was fine.

I saw one septic truck that had a sign on the back that said... "We haul Milk on weekends" We lived in our house for 17 years. We never had the septic tank pumped, it always worked fine, and when we sold and they had it inspected it was still working fine. A lot depends on what you put down your drains and whether you have trees and such planted near your drainage field, as well as how good the installation was.

The patch has a good recap and a couple of videos of the meeting. "Things were not business as usual when the Hiram City Council met for the first time in 2012 on Tuesday. By the end of the night, the mayor had resigned, the city clerk was replaced, and most in attendance—including other council members—were struggling to catch up with what had happened." dallas-hiram.patch.com/articles/hiram-mayor-jack-paris-resigns#video-8829044

I can eat just about anything without it having an effect on me. I guess those mud pies and dirt sandwiches I had as a kid paid off.

I would like to share an experience about drinking and driving. As you well know, some of us have been known to have had brushes with the authorities on our way home from the odd social session over the years. A couple of nights ago, I was out for a few drinks with some friends and had a few too many margaritas and some rather nice claret. Knowing full well I may have been slightly over the limit, I did something I've never done before - I took a bus home. I arrived home safely and without incident, which was a real surprise, as I have never driven a bus before and am not even sure where I

Anyone can send a thank you/birthday/anniversary email. I consider the effort. So don't waste the little effort/time it takes. If you really are thankful for a gift, want to express congrats or whatever, get off your butt and do something. Just don't text or email me about it. That's such a lazy way out.

The only good thing about a chest freezer is they are more energy efficient since they don't lose all of the cold air everytime it's opened. If you package your own vegatables and pack everthing in the same size container the chest freezer works well, because you can have stuff go bad that stays in the back of an upright too. It's pretty much personal preference and what you plan on putting in it.

[hijack] What is amazing to me is the number of churches that are changing their name to remove their demonination. They say they don't want to to turn off certain people who wouldn't step foot into a Methodist/Baptist/Etc church. If the church isn't changing its beliefs, then isn't that like acting like a wolf in sheep's clothing? If you're ashamed to have the name of Methodist/Baptist/Etc in your church's name then I can expect that you rarely ever say the words "saved" either and prefer saying "follower of Christ". However, there are a lot of followers of Christ who aren't 'saved'. [/hijac

Sears to close 100-120 Kmart, Sears stores
Georgia Dawg replied to Blondiega1's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I transferred all of my prescriptions from Walmart to Kmart after evertime I went in there to get a prescription refilled I got the typical "it'll be about an hour". At KMart, it rarely takes more than 15 minutes. I took one prescription into KMart and they called me back to the pharmacy after only 10 minutes to ask me if it was okay to issue me 25 mgs (180 - take two daily) instead of 50 mgs (90 - one daily) and it would save me about $40. Walmart would have NEVER asked me if I wanted to give them less money. KMart secured my business from then on. -
We bought an LG and have really been pleasded with it and amazed at how quiet it is since it is installed in our kitchen island and the back faces the den where we watch TV. I can't really tell when it is actually running.

Ruby falls is fed both by rainwater and natural springs. During the drought, the falls was nothing more than a trickle. The Flint River has an unusual source. It begins as groundwater seepage in west central Georgia at what is today the mouth of a concrete culvert on the south side of Virginia Avenue in Hapeville. The water that collects there quickly disappears under the runways of Hartsfield Airport as it flows southward through the culvert. It is joined by water from such tributaries as Sullivan, Mud, and Camp creeks.

From the web site... The Destin location was one of 11 restaurants in the O’Charley’s chain that closed on Sunday. After the closing of the Destin location, the closest O’Charley’s restaurants are in Pensacola and Panama City.
