Interesting read Hubby found on Craigslist..........

You have to admit, in this instant communication age, the number of representatives are no longer needed - much less the massive number of staff each of them has. When you have fewer people involved, it is easier to come to a consensus. Look at our government now - every time they want to get something done they set up a task team or super-committee for a few individuals to come up with an answer or solution. The people's voice isn't reduced. The best thing that could happen would be the elimination of labels or parties. Instead of having multiple political parties, ban them entirely to e -
I know that Opie was failing arithmetic so it could either be him (and others) who were repeating classes or it could be those would were taking advanced classes. When I was in school in the 1960's I only remember kids having to go to summer school if they failed a class. Parents would usually get really mad at them since they were expected to work and do their chores on the farm during the summer.

Today, on my way to lunch, I passed a homeless guy sitting on the sidewalk, holding a sign that read, "Vote for Obama, I need the money." I laughed. The waiter in the restaurant was wearing an "Obama" campaign button. “Yet another Obama supporter,” I thought. “I guess I’m outnumbered!” After I finished eating and the bill came, I decided not to tip the server. I explained to him that I was exploring Obama's “redistribution of wealth” concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need - the homeless guy outside

When she came out of the closet it seemed, by mentioning her "ex", that she was just letting everyone know she was available and for the guys to stop hitting on her.

I saw this and found it interesting as well... ===================================================================== When a company falls on difficult times, one of the things that seems to happen is they reduce their staff and workers. The remaining workers must find ways to continue to do a good job or risk that their job would be eliminated as well. Wall street and the media normally congratulate the CEO for making this type of "tough decision". Our government should not be immune from similar risks. Therefore: Reduce the House of Representatives from the curren -

Not very happy with the discussion of gun control

ATTENTION! Due to the increased cost of ammunition, you will no longer receive a Warning shot. -
I would expect a 911 dispatcher to know about emergencies that occurred during their shift. I would not expect a 911 dispatcher to know about non-emergency phone calls made to the police to report a burglary after the fact.

Do you still use a Black and White Television?
Georgia Dawg replied to The Sound Guy's topic in RECENT TOPICS
So, are they keeping their B&W TV because the color TV license is 3 times the cost, or they would just hate to have to throw out (and pay for the disposal) a perfectly good piece of electronics. I wonder how many of these 13,000 households have cells phones, or much less, a smart phone? Talking about Car Tax, the Car Taxes in Europe run around 150% when you purchase a vehicle and then about $5K every 6 months for an environmental impact fee. -
Especailly those teenages who don't know that their pants should be around their waist and not below their butt.

They don't need any donations. ObamaCare is going to take care of everything.

They should deport them with Piers Morgan.

And nothing said about how and what level of detail is used in the collection of this data. People will always be able to get data to support any point they attempt to make.

I wonder what part of "renewing an assault weapons ban" would have stopped the guy in California from shooting those people with a shotgun today? -
I just checked the price of gas in the UK and most stations are around $7.92/gallon (1.30 GBP/Liter). I guess it could be worse.

"Beautiful" people that you'd like to smack with a brick

Tom Cruise. But someone has already hit him up against the head before. Ever notice that his teeth don't line up with the middle of his face? Piers Morgan. Since his move to CNN he has shown just how stupid he can really be. Joy Behar. Someone needs to hit her with a BIG brick, and often. -
These folks also just voted to legalize marijuana. A bunch of nut jobs. Or maybe his neighbors had a barking dog...

Not only will our country suffer from a generation that has no imagination to create things, they will also have fewer social skills (due to excessive texting and less conversation), won't know how to write in cursive (usually needed for a signature), desensitized to violence (due to violent video games and violence on TV), improper guidance during upbringing (due to parents using games and TV to babysit their kid), little or no morals/standards (due to parenting/teachers insisting on acceptance rather than tolerance), a feeling of entitlement instead of self-worth as a result of effort/learni

Exactly. Statistics don't lie. Crime is higher in gun-free zones and crime is lower in areas where people are allowed to carry. The Police aren't here to protect you from crime. They are here to investigate after the crime has been committed and clean up the mess.

What Would Have Happened To This Teacher If He Had Intervened?
Georgia Dawg replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Think of the side benefits... Besides not having to worry as much about some crazy mass murderer, think about how the teacher's own students might be less inclined to cut up in class. -

If the principal had put one 9mm slug in his eyeball instead of trying to reach and take the gun away from him, there would have been fewer killed.

Interesting question I heard on the news this morning

NEWTOWN, Conn. – The gunman who slaughtered 20 children and six adults at a Connecticut elementary school may have snapped because his mother was planning to commit him to a psychiatric facility, according to a lifelong resident of the area who was familiar with the killer's family and several of the victims' families. Adam Lanza, 20, targeted Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown after killing his mother early Friday because he believed she loved the school "more than she loved him," said Joshua Flashman, 25, who grew up not far from where the shooting took place. Flashman, a U.S. -

If the ban on assault weapons was reinstated, would it have prevented this tragedy? No, because the rifle would not have been banned under that regulation. Should all guns be banned? Check out countries that have or are trying it. It's not working. -
What Can We As a Society Do About These Horrible Tragedies?
Georgia Dawg replied to Beach Bum's topic in RECENT TOPICS
You could take a car and kill more people in the same length of time than you could with a gun. Are we going to outlaw cars? Society, not guns, is the problem. We've raised an entire generation of young people who have less morals, who are less sensitized to right and wrong, than ever before in history. Just look at the violence that our young people are exposed to on a daily basis - violent video games, violence on TV... Just look at how true social interaction of our youth has been decreased lately with them using phones for texting instead of verbally communicating. This just makes th
