I was picked for a case here in Paulding county. It was one where the ex-wife (who was a dancer and didn't seem to have any brains since she had to hear every question more than once) was accusing her ex-husband of beating their child. The photographs were clearly doctored. And the ADA was clearly an idiot! I couldn't believe the stupid questions he kept asking. He must have been reading the book on 'how to piss off your jury to return a verdict against you'. Then the ADA had the nerve to ask the jury back into the jury room after we returned with a 'Not Guilty' verdict and proceeded to c

Our HOA fees on our place in Florida are $952 per month and I can tell you that I definitely pass those along in the rental fees.

Seven Hills Amenities (esp. Basketball Courts)

Since the HOA has a fiduciary responsibility to uphold the Covenants and By-Laws of the Association you should, and must, hold them accountable. An HOA can't decide which rules to enforce and which rules to let slide. Homeowners can be an HOA's worst nightmare when they make the HOA walk the line. Just as the HOA may make demands on its homeowners to take action to correct violations, likewise the Homeowners can make demands of its HOA to take action as well - or face the legal consequences. Being on the HOA doesn't make them above the law. -
First, let me say that I have nothing against the Shriners. My dad was a Shriner, my father-in-law is a Shriner and I was a Demolay. But when I see traffic backed up for miles at an intersection that usually doesn't get that slow unless there is a wreck there, and I find out there is a group of Shriners there collecting money it just flies all over me. I don't mind if they are collecting in an area where they don't impede traffic, like standing in the grassy median until the light turns red. But to stand out in the middle of the road, making everyone slow to a crawl for fear of hitting someon

I saw an All You Can Eat Catfish for $9.95 on the seafood place (Sea Breeze) on Hwy 5 in Douglasville. If it's anything like the rest of their seafood it will taste great!

Groups lobby against English-only driver's license test
Georgia Dawg replied to MillCreek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I believe the "true" native language in Georgia was Cherokee, not Spanish. But as our country developed and was formed and constitutionalized, English became the accepted language of this new nation. English should always be the language for our nation as all of our founding documents were written in that language, not Spanish, Portuguese or Russian. -
Yeah, and then they added a 'word' for the first 2 digits - like for us it was 'Fairfax' or 'FA' which was 32. I guess 'they' didn't think we could remember all 7 digits. I don't think kids today have it any better. With all of the technology and spread of so-called "entertainment" I believe our kids have been so desensitize to everything that they don't understand the implications of someone's actions anymore. They "kill" or "beat up" so many people on TV or on their WII games that they can't separate it from reality. It's proven with the amount of violent crime and everything else that'

They failed to mean our 'party' line. No, it was an on-line gathering of people drinking adult beverages. A party line meant that you shared a telephone line with one or more people on your street or general area. Each house would have a special ring so you knew it was for someone in your house and not someone down the street. However, it always happened when you were talking to a girlfriend or whatever and then the folks down the street would pick up the phone and start dialing (that's when you place your finger in this large plastic disk on the face of the phones with several finger-sized ho

The part about "but then it says (fan)black to (wall switch)white and then (wall switch) black to ceiling box black" is referencing a switchleg wiring method from the box. Hopefully, you've got it going with those instructions from Guard Dad.

This one gets me everytime... (like just now reading it once again) He said I’ll call you Hon when I get there, Ten minutes later he was in the air, She dropped the kids at school and headed home, Walked in and turned the front room TV on She could tell that there was something wrong, Every channel had the same thing on, Now seven years have come and gone away, But she’s still hurting like its yesterday, ‘Cuz she wants to put her arms around his neck, and look in his eyes so blue, and say Honey I don’t regret, A single day I spent with you, She wants to tell him that she

Don't forget to mark your calendars. As you may already know, it is a sin for a Muslim male to see any woman other than his wife naked and if he does, he must commit suicide. So next Saturday at 1 PM Eastern Time, all American women are asked to walk out of their house completely naked to help weed out any neighborhood terrorists. Circling your block for one hour is recommended for this anti-terrorist effort. All patriotic men are to position themselves in lawn chairs in front of their houses to demonstrate their support for the women and to prove that they are not Muslim terrorist

I've been a AAA customer for almost 10 years. I've never had any problem with them. When I've had to go to their office for anything I couldn't have been more pleased with the service I received.

I used to work night shift for many years and I can't tell you the number of times I would get awakened from people making too much noise during the day. If it wasn't someone playing loud music from their house, or blaring music from their car, or the "thump, thump, thump' or someone playing basket ball in the driveway. People are just not considerate of others any more. It's just all about them.

Groups lobby against English-only driver's license test
Georgia Dawg replied to MillCreek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The next thing you know they'll want the driver's test done in EBONICS! Our legislature should be cutting expenses by limited all state documents to English only. It's very expensive to provide those documents in a variety of languages. You should see how much it costs us to provide software in a new language. It's not cheap, it's not automatic. Everyone has trying to become so accommodating to people who don't speak English. Go to any department store and notice how all of the signs also have Spanish words for each English word. I think there's only one sign that needs both la -
They had plenty of notice that this was going to happen. However, people who live off the government don't understand that payment for services has to come from somewhere. Instead of trying to find funding for their public transportation they just wanted to argue that someone was violating their civil rights. Let's see, health care is a civil right, public transportation is a civil right... There goes that 'give me, give me' mentality. You just can't reason with a parasite.

If I see something like that going on or happens in front of my grandkids I let them have a piece of my mind and then I let the beach patrol know. The police will not tolerate that conduct if it is reported. There were some girls that got topless in the hottub and they ended up getting evicted.

I think any of the contestants were better than that 'no talent' Rihanna. You'd think the producers would put someone in there that the contestants could look up to.

It's that time of year.... Looking for PCB Condo
Georgia Dawg replied to tbird's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yep, I know exactly where you speak. :-) There's a great place we like to eat at called Bayou Bill's Crab House down there. We decided against buying in that area since the price of everything has continued to rise with the spread of the Seaside 'alike' communities continuing to spread eastward toward that intersection. Even with the 'correction' of the real estate market many of the resellers and developers have refused to participate in the recession. But I don't know that I could ever give up this view from our balcony. Plus there's a lot of stuff for the kids to do down here. -
It's that time of year.... Looking for PCB Condo
Georgia Dawg replied to tbird's topic in RECENT TOPICS
We looked at a lot of townhomes on PCB, but it's iffy every year and those take the pounding form the salty air and storm damage. We don't like the high rises so we try to stay on a lower floor (3rd) so we're close enough to the beach and pools but high enough to be away from the noise. We checked out the west end of the beach and it has really gotten crowded with all of the development down there and the crowds coming in for Pier Park. We decided to stay toward the east end of Front Beach where it first reaches the beach. The traffic isn't that bad there and there are a lot of different pla -
We were in Destin earlier this week and the traffic and crowds were just as bad there as they are in PCB. It's relativly quiet in our complex. It may be due to the fact that they (and us too) don't rent to anyone under the age of 25. We researched Destin, Ft. Walton, PCB and Mexico Beach before deciding on PCB. Not all of PCB is overrun with teens and spring breakers. I wouldn't judge anyone, anything or any area based on a couple of bad incidents no more than I would judge all Georgia votes for those in the 4th district for voting for the likes of Cynthia McKinney and Hank Johnson.

We've come to expect that type of behavior at the hotels and places along the strip. That's one reason we bought in our complex after some research. Our complex is more family oriented and you can tell by looking down the beach in either direction. To the left you see alll of the folks gathered around Pineapple Willeys and then down toward the other end the beaches are shoulder to shoulder in front of Edgewater. We've been out everyday this week and while traffic is heavier than normal it's nowhere close to 285 or Hwy 278 in Hiram at rush hour. It's all relative. We packed our petience just in

Fencing is a cheap investment. We fenced our 63 acreas for the same reason. You don't have to put up a fancy fence. Field fence or 3 strands of barbed wire would work well.
