I was thinking about listing my wife's race as Asian / Mexican / African American so that whenever the Democrats decide to give some more of the taxpayer money away or redistribute wealth in order to buy her vote, she can be in that line. I'll list my race as White so if the Democrats decide to give some more taxpayer money away to offset reverse discrimination, in order to buy my vote, I'll be in that line.

I don't feel trapped right now. We recently bought a 3 bedroom 3 bath condo on the beach and IF the house prices were back, close to what they were, I might try to sell. But I'll just give it another 5 years or so and by then I hope to retire or at least retire from house/yard maintenance and telework from the beach. Sounds like a plan to me!

Talk to the people at Brown's pool in Douglasville. They sell both systems and I've heard the truth from them about both systems. If you can smell chlorine in a pool then the chlorine level is too high. They put more than enough chlorine in a public pool because of the liability. My wife wanted a salt system and I wanted to know if it was like she was told, that you done have to use all of those other chemicals. The folks at Brown's pools said that you still have to use all of the other chemicals, you just don't use chlorine to maintain the proper level. They told us to talk with peopl

I was wondering what you meant by "the other box". It doesn't show up until you uncheck the 'DST Correction' tab.
-
Hmmm. Mine says "If selected, your DST setting is automatically adjusted when you next load the board index" so I've had it checked all along. I wonder if my PCom time was wrong for the last 5 months? Guess I'll have to wait until November to know for sure.

Wrong-way driver causes major accident on I-20
Georgia Dawg replied to MillCreek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
There has been an issue with wrong way drivers getting on the interstate for several years. I've come up with a way to prevent that, it wouldn't cost much, but the GDOT doesn't seem interested. I guess enough people haven't died yet. -
Sounds like this is a typical RIF (Reduction In Force) program, which is never mutual. It's not a firing for cause, which if it was could jeopardize the start of your UI benefits. You definitely need to find out what it is they want signed. You should be given the opportunity to review it with your attorney, and if they don't want to allow that then that's definitely a red flag. If the agreement is worded in a manner that makes it appear that he quit and they allowed him to quit then he would be forfeiting ALL of his UI benefits.

(no jobs out there?) Another email I received..... Hi, One of our clients in Midtown is seeking a long-term temporary part-time Administrative Assistant. The position is for 20 hours per week & must be worked sometime during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm). Pay is $14 per hour. Because this is long term part-time position, the client will only consider candidates who are seeking part-timer work long-term, not short-term until they find a full-time job. Qualified candidates must have: - 3+ years of recent Administrative Assistant experience - Intermediate

This particular story may have been a hoax but I can't believe that everyone else who experienced a problem with a Toyota doing this was lying about it. I can't believe these people would purposely kill themselves just to make a point.

There's an excellent chance that your house has french drains that surround the high side of your house and run out on each side. At least I do on my house that was built 16 years ago. Every time it rains I had water coming in our basement. When I had our driveway re-done I had them connect the output of the french drains to a pipe to take the water to the creek instead of running across my driveway. When they uncovered the outlet of the drain around the house there was dirt up against it. Apparently it was causing enough back pressure to back up water in the pipe all the way around the house

Hello, 911? There's someone trying to break into my house! I'm sorry sir, but we don't have an officer in your area right now. Just be quiet and maybe he'll leave once he finds something he's after. Call back in a couple of minutes. Hello 911? I just shot someone who broke into my house! Police arrive and find the crook downstairs in the house going through a closet. I thought you said you had shot someone. I thought you said you didn't have anyone in the area right now.

For some reason the voice and song just doesn't fit the image of the guy on the roll. He ought to be singing something like: "Love is on a roll" by Don Williams

You should be getting the "Web page expired" message if you try to click the back button on a topic on which there was a poll that you voted on. I don't know why you would be getting that on EVERY topic though.

Make sure you fill both of them out so it can account for at least one of the illegals here using our county services for free.

That story sounds like he wasn't working professionally, and probably was doing a favor (maybe for money) but wasn't in the business of doing what he was doing. It's pretty much the same circumstances and events that would take place when someone gets hurt on your property. If you hire someone to work on your property and they are insured then it's a different story.
-
Depends on if they found the one who threw the hatchet. Go to the emergency room and if you can't pay - then don't pay. If you know who did it you could call his/her insurance company and give them the story. Otherwise you might have to call the "One call, that's all" guy.

Are you sure he wasn't overexaggerating? [From another thread]
