This is about 3 miles from my parents home and is where I grew up and went to school. It is a beautiful little Mayberryish town with wonderful people! I have spoken to my parents several times today and they are fine as they are far enough away to be out of danger. Please say a prayer for these people and everyone else whose lives have been affected by the flooding.

Yep - these guys and gals are true heroes! I'm sure they are probably exhausted, hungry, wet, etc. Thank you to all of them for their hard work and dedication to their jobs!!!

Just wanted to say thank you to all of you taking the time to keep us updated on the weather, road closures, etc. This has certainly been a very serious weather event and I very much appreciate all of you taking the time to keep us updated. Also a huge thank you for ALL of our emergency personnel for helping to keep us safe. I know you all must be exhausted but you are ALL very much appreciated. Hopefully everyone will be safe, sound and secure and that the storms will soon pass.

We had a shrimp and crab boil with: shirmp, crab legs, red potatoes, sausage, corn on the cobb, onions and lemons all cooked together with seasonings, red snapper, cream cheese stuffed new potatoes, hush puppies and homemade onion rings. For dessert we had "straight from the box" funfetti cake.

Yep - that fumble hurt but hopefully they can recover. Panthers have a good drive going as a result of the Falcons fumble.

Our Atlanta Falcons are looking good and leading the Panthers 21-13 at halftime. I have to tread very carefully with this game as all our neighbors at Lake Norman, NC are huge Panthers fans. The Falcons come first though, then the Panthers and then Tampa Bay. Don't you just love Tony Gonzalez? Go Falcons!!!!!

I grew up as one of six children - three boys and three girls. I love my siblings dearly and they truly are my best friends and we still, even as adults, have so much fun when we all get together. My husband and I have three children, a daughter and twin sons, and they are all now young adults. It is inspiring to see that they are as close as I am to my siblings and are continuing to have good times together, even in adulthood.
