I was on my way to work one morning and the DJ's were talking about this very topic - getting a song stuck in your head - they called them "ear worms" - as gross as that sounds .

WOW - I did not know that! Good for her - I can't afford it right now - maybe sometime in the near future though. Until then, I am one of the cheap freebies that mostly enjoys this site. My son played football with Miss Jesse's grandson and I remember when the accident happened. It was really, really sad.

PS - I might get a bullet with you but oh well - haven't seen one single post from the JA that added anything to this site - NOT that all/any of posts do either I am glad to see that Pubby is watching.....

I was in the Walmart store in Acworth (near the Quiktrip) last night and they had an entire shelf of milk that had expired on 8/13. I couldn't find anyone in the back of the store but told the cashier and he immediately told someone else who used his radio to ask someone to remove the milk. You have to be responsible shoppers and watch for the expiration dates - sell by dates are different especially if you are going to use the product right away or freeze it.

Hey, Shay Shay I can't begin to imagine what you went through and are still going through. I think about you both often! Msflyfisher

My UE benefits just started in May but I also received a letter saying that I qualified for grant money for training. I am seriously considering it. Also, I had asked about receiving my UE benefits if I enrolled in tech school, etc and was told by the lady at the Cartersville DOL office that you do continue to receive benefits but are exempt from searching for a job - you just have to complete a form or something like that. Also, in addition to the OP's notes, as far as food, there are several "food banks" around that offer free/very low cost food - CharliesAngels sent me some info earl -
How sweet!!

Just shows you how much I know. Is there a way to distinguish between sister & son?

Does any one know of any places hiring?
msflyfisher replied to HaydensMama247's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My brother just got hired at Lockheed after applying repeatedly for 6 months. He did know someone on the inside and it still took him that long. I think the key is that you watch the website daily as it literally changes overnight with positions being added all the time. Good luck! -
Thank you, GeorgiaMommy - that is really sweet of you.

Same here - I receive this email periodically from my friends and I agree - it fits us to a tee!

CONGRATULATIONS, GeorgieMommy!!!

My SIL lost his job on Tuesday. He has applied for unemployment but as most everyone knows it takes several weeks before those checks start coming in. He has been a trailer mechanice by trade for many years (well, not that many as he is only 30yrs old... ). He was a partner in a pressure waching business several years ago, he has installed flooring, some construction work, basically he has knowledge in a number of areas but the trailer mechanic is where the majority of his experience lies. If anyone hears of an opportunity that he might be qualified for, please let me know - eve

ME TOO, LR!!!!! BTW - those are awesome - I think I'll tell DH - maybe he'll order me one (or both)
-
Yep, I believe so. Daughter and grandson got it first, SIL was next and then myself - all with stuffy heads, sore throats, fever, congestion, yada, yada, yada. My DH will be the last to catch it and probably have the worst case due to asthma and hopefully we will be done with it for a while.

I got in with no problems....

You are absolutely right, Teatime! Parents sometimes are just as bad or even worse about wanting their children to be part of the "popular" crowd and don't stop to think about the consequences. BTW, I wasn't implying that all tweens/teens or even all parents are that way - just that it goes both ways..
-
I have said for many years that tween/teen girls dress way to inappropriately for their ages which IMHO contributes to some of the "statutory rape" charges that we see.... BUT, I don't want to go there, I just wanted to say that my SIL and I were sitting on our front porch one day and watched as our neighbor's 15/16ish daughter got out of a pick-up truck with her boyfriend, we assume, and proceeds to put on a pair of shorts underneath a longer babydoll type top. Her parents are very nice, caring people but sometimes you just don't know what your kids do when you are not around. This is not

WOW - I remember this. It was a very scary time in Atlanta.

I just LOVE getting all these recipes. When my daughter was getting married, I gathered up favorite recipes from various family members and put together a "cookbook" for her. Now, I just keep giving her recipes that I think she will enjoy.
-
NOPE - I found out the hard way that family members usually are the last people you want to "loan" money..... I agree, chalk it up to a lesson learned and don't punish the kids - it really isn't their fault.

Us too! We ALWAYS have this at family dinners. It was one of my Mom's favorite dishes.
