  1. Well, head up to North Forsyth and you'll see that it's no better, but probably no worse. I worked in process manufacturing software, and I've seen live slaughter plants, meat processing plants, and that decadent "O" juice plant (and several other "organic" produce and meat factories...I can tell you a few things free of charge. 1. They ALL have miserable working conditions in the factory - if you're a factory worker, you're underpaid, overworked, and you have little if any chance of advancement. 2. They ALL are looking to do the least to get the most. If "organic" certification is their
  2. Or one better...have you ever looked into the working conditions of Florida's orange grove employees? Google immigrant field workers...or do you think the common white person picks your peppers?
  3. And all God's people said....Amen. And right after they said, "samonilia is more prevalent in produce". And then we sang a hymn in your honor. Eat more spinach.
  4. I hesitate to post this, as the pharma industry puts food on my table... But do a bit more research on HPV, the pharma companies (cough ** starts with an M), the independent testing laboratories that did the vaccine investigation (hint they're in Atlanta and not the CDC) and the go to market R&D time frame of the HPV drug. Happy reading!
  5. I can get behind this... Means you won't be taking up space next to me at Capital Grill, Hal's, Bones, Steak, Houstons shoot...Longhorns. Please, don't eat meat. Quick question...has ANYONE, anyone, in this thread (besides surepip) spent time in a processing plant? I hafta go get NC-17...she can bring her grass feed organic beef farm owning ass in here.
  6. I RARELY have days like these, but I'm just DONE with the day. I've had to manage, micro-manage, coddle, pussyfoot, rep reprimand, beg, tell, sell...everyone from co-workers to vendors to my family to my friends. Does someone have a joke? A funny picture? A good story? A Bible passage? I feel like every hair on my body is frayed.
  7. Lawd, we just missed it at my place near Mableton. SIrens are going off, my son is FREAKING out. I thought moving next to a fire station was a good thing.
  8. I think we should have a secret squirrel lunch and you and I can make out! And AGG, I just want you to know that you're my favorite, next to Charlie Sheen. Speaking of, apparently he got craaaazy this morning on one of the morning shows. Must youtube before I take off!
  9. Lighten up, killer. It's Monday! You had a great weekend (so did I, and thanks for asking) And you put your ever changing love of a lifetimes on pcom, no one has to "look" for anything...jus' sayin'. I hope you have a FABULOUS day! PS...What are your thoughts on Keriten treatments? I'm on the fence and don't want my hair to fall out.
  10. Awesome! You know it's going to be asked....are you engaged again, yet?
  11. You could be correct, however the toxicology reports showed methamphetamine. Of course, LSD cannot be detected after 8 hours or so. But they also arrested the people that provided the meth at the party that they confirmed the couple was at. They also confirmed that the couple smoked meth. Paranoia and hallucinations are very possible on meth.
  12. Meth gives you the feeling of bugs on your skin, or skin crawling...which leads to picking at the skin. Meth Mites: http://www.mappsd.org/Meth%20Mites.htm
  13. The bus will never be desirable because you're at the mercy of someone's schedule other than your own. Another interesting thing that I've seen that has taken off overseas (and some here), are the bikes that you rent. They have stands every so many blocks, you rent and return at any of the locations in the city. The other thing that had a short life span here in Atlanta is the Zipcar. These are cars parked around the city that can be "rented" and returned at any zipcar spot. They're pretty big in Boston, but that's really the only place I've seen a lot of them.
  14. Atlanta was actually going to be a test hub for plug-ins throughout the downtown area, but the "plug" was pulled sometime last year. There are SO many reasons that we don't have more environmentally friendly vehicles, and they're almost all political. If you go ANYWHERE else in the world, you'll see that all cars are MUCH smaller, much more gas friendly. In Italy, most people ride scooters. In my travels, I can count on one hand the number of SUVs I've seen. But, over there gas is $5 a LITER. There's also a lot less land, so areas are planned to be sustainable. There's very little sprawl,
  15. Thanks for posting the pics. I'm making my first trip to England in a month - and this makes me excited!! I'll be there a week, so I do hope to see some beautiful countryside!
  16. Are these from the Faces of Meth? NatGeo has a meth documentary available that I watched and found profoundly relevant and I think that every child over 10 should see it, and then see it again at 13, and 15 and 17.... Some of these specials are just exploits and resemble the crap that the schools put out in the DARE program - following around people that are so unrelatable to children. This one actually told the story of a young couple that had done meth for the first time ever and their truck broke down. It airs a series of 911 calls made through the night. While the truck had half a
  17. He grew up on a hippie compound...this really shouldn't be a surprise.
  18. It's very sad...but, it was preventable. We're not on the Oregon Trail anymore - no one needs to die of dysentery or brave the raging rivers to make a phone call. I appreciate their beliefs, and find it a terribly sad story.
  19. He's entered into cocaine psychosis. I actually know a person that is *just* like him. Crazy GOLD. Yes, I feel badly for the people that are out of work, but I really can't imagine that having him would make for a good work environment. I've added him to my celebrity death pool.
  20. I can't get enough to Charlie Sheen...He's on Alex Jones today, and it's crazy GOLD. http://www.infowars.com/audiobox.html
  21. These things come up here, there and everywhere. It's hard, if not impossible, for a parent to take a child off of life support. But, at some point, someone has to do something. There's ton of information out there, but it's something like 80% of our entire life time spend on health care will happen during the last 2 years of a person's life. Often for futile reasons. Of course, I have a very strong faith in the Lord...some death is just a homecoming for me!
  22. Since I use the same password for everything - or a variation, giving them my FB password would also be giving them access to my personal banking. I do think that it's fair for FB to be utilized as a tool in the hiring/firing of an employee. My FB is locked down. And I'm not one of those that allows anyone to be my friend. I actually think I have less than 100 friends on FB.
