  1. It is pricey. And if I were going to drop a couple hundred bucks on a chain restaurant dinner, I'd go with Flemmings, McKendricks, or heck, Houstons. I took my son to the melting pot last year, needless to say, I called it a success when no one was burned or food poisoned. Definitely not for kids. Have a good dinner!
  2. I heard that the father was a milk truck driver and had left at 10pm to go to work? The parents were minnonite, so I heard that the mother had to go next door to call for help.
  3. I've given them several chances. I guess if I wanted to cook my own food, I could do it at home. I second the biscuits at Red Lobster. To keep it relevant to everyone, I'd say the bacon egg and cheese at Martins, the mustard vinigarette at Outback, and the chips and salsa from Chilis.
  4. Special K and vodka for me. They boy is having pulled pork and salad.
  5. Pictures? You know, we all should be rejoicing...Mexico is dangerous these days!
  6. ACK! I was in the car with him the other day and I reached back at a light just to squeeze his hand. I looked at it a second and then we started talking about his hands! They're STILL baby hands...and I thought about how soon they won't be.
  7. No. I can honestly say, no. I can't blame anyone but me for what I did and I am not a victim. Actually, I've had to become more resourceful and it's made me a better person - even when something goes the wrong way as a result (which happens from time to time), I'm THANKFUL for the reminder and I take it as an opportunity to pat myself on the back for learning from my mistakes. She should be thankful that she had the career for this long and look at it as an opportunity to explore other career avenues that will bring her joy.
  8. Melissa Carter is leaving Q100! Anyone hear the details? I missed it!
  9. NOOOOOO!!! It's not intended that way! I'm actually considering throwing out my back just to get one more chance to pick that boy up!
  10. I don't think you can have a felony and be in law enforcement, but you know better than me. And I'm all for people turning their life around. BUT, if you truly want to turn around you have to recognize and own your bad behavior and choices and realize that those might disqualify you certain jobs. Do I have compassion? Sure, and I truly hope she finds another career that fulfills her. That still doesn't mean that I want her teaching my children. I have a criminal record, when I was younger (22). I realize that this CAN limit my career opportunities and wait with bated breath every time
  11. Religion out of it, she's not teaching my kid. How can I endorse my son value and respecting someone that didn't value and respect themselves? And before you come down on me for this...I have to ask, how many of you KNOW porn stars? My roommate and BFF in college was an escort/stripper/porn star...I can tell you, first hand, that these women are bottom feeders and usually doing it for a quick buck to spend on superficial lifestyles. While some do fall on hard times, find wrong crowds, etc. it's a series of poor choices, not much different than drug use. At the end of the day, if you h
  12. My 8 year old and I were having a fairly uneventful conversation yesterday when I realized that I can no longer physically pick him up and put him on my hip. I thought, I wonder when the last time was that I picked him up, and if I had known that was going to be the last time that I'd ever throw my boy on my hip, if I would have taken the time to cherish it a little more. I'm not intending to be a downer...but there are a few preggos on the board and I wanted to be sure that when they're complaining about their babies getting "so heavy" as all moms do...you'll miss being able to pick up
  13. I'm hoping to come up with some creative ways to illustrate my inability to focus...potato chips? What about breakfast cereal?! Oh, crap, there I go again...
  14. This pic is from Razzo's 10 years ago. This is also why I am not eating.
  15. Which do you think is scarier to a a teen: "If I ever catch you smoking pot, you will lose your car, cell phone and you will not be allowed to play football." OR "If you screw up and get pregnant, it's going to ruin your life. No college, no career, nothing. You're going to be serving fries at McDonalds." You see...that first one (and correct me if this is not indicative of how you would position drug use) has an immediate consequence for poor behavioral choices. That second one (again, correct me if your conversation sounds differently) implicates "possible" consequence, in th
  16. cleaned under the bed yesterday. It was a good night. As for sacrifice, I'm telling you...we need to take a June trip to the big easy and gain it all back in Hurricanes and beignets.
  17. Print this. And take another look when Blue Jr. is 3 months old. And post it.
  18. And you see...we're passively always telling our children this. Drugs can ruin your life. Well guess what, so can an unplanned pregnancy. Why shouldn't you feel as vehemently convicted about them not getting pregnant as you do about them not using drugs?
  19. I leave April 25th! 50 days from now. Why, do you have Aderoll??????
  20. Nope, but I have given up starches. And really food in general. I'm living off a can of soup, a bowl of special K and laxatives until I can find a good source for Aderoll or methamphetamine or until I leave for my vacation.
  21. Jenilyn, I want to stab you in the finger and watch fat babies scream over your exploding, chip enjoying body.... For mentioning potato chips. Or food in general. I'z also cannot have potato chips. Until April 26th, when I may rampage into a Ruffle's factory and eat every last cheddar and sour cream ruffle in the place. **of to watch more charlie sheen vids**
  22. I'm curious... Do you take the same stance with pregnancy that you do with drugs? We all but beat it into our children to keep them away from drugs, but we tend to coddle them for things like pregnancy, for example: "If I ever find drugs in your room you will lose your car, phone and be grounded until you're 18." Does this sound right? Now, I ask you, is that what the conversation sounds like when you talk to your girls/boys about pregnancy? Or does it take a more passive approach and usually end in something like, "you know you can always come to me and we'll work it out."
  23. Ha! Road rage abounds! We were at the other house a couple of weeks ago, and the snow banks get really tall and wide - with on street parking, 2 lane roads quickly become one. Well...we're driving in a sports car, which is LOW to the ground, and we have the "right of way" - meaning the oncoming traffic is going in the same directions as the one street parking. This woman comes in a small SUV and we literally have a stand off. Now, mind you we have an appointment in 30 minutes. At one point, we roll down our window and talk to this woman - she says, pull over closer to the snow ba
