KNOW where your kids are going - even if that means checking up on them. READ their damn facebook, cell phones, whatever. Give them rules, mama always said, nothing good ever happens after midnight. I have a friend in Florida that is/was addicted to pain meds. They just had a huge crack down and closed a bunch of pill mills. Most of their pills (her and BF) come from the VA. She's been on a program, through the VA, to get clean. She's now addicted to Saboxon. Once she can't get that anymore, I'm sure she'll seek out heroin, or alcohol. And addiction is an addiction. I'm always amazed at her ability to get these drugs. I never can.

I'm not entirely sure I understand. I was questioned in middle school about physical abuse by my school counselor and a 2 police officers. Pulled out of the class. My mother was not there. I can't really recall if she was notified by me or the school, but it wasn't until afterwards because my mother would have been there had she been notified prior to.
