  1. I just tried and I must have a stupid broom too. It just wants to fall over. Oh, well. Actually, the bristles on mine are not stiff anymore and the metal handle is slightly bent, so there's no way to properly balance it. I might go out and buy a new broom tomorrow just so I can do this and freak out my kids.
  2. How sad. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
  3. My most favorite is my truck that I drive now. It's nothing special, just a 1998 GMC Sierra, but I love my truck. We bought it brand new and it only had 10 miles on it, now she has 210,000 miles A close second would be the 1986 Cutlass Supreme. Again nothing special, but it was a very pretty car. All black and looked similar to a 442. Hubby's fave would have been his 1974 Camaro, it was red w/black racing stripes and the car would FLY!! He had the engine built, sorry I don't remember the specs but I do know it would out run most police cars in Chatham County
  4. My Mother passed when I was 2 1/2 years old and growing up my Dad would talk about her some but not alot. I never knew the date in which she died only that it was sometime in 1975. I got married on June 2 of 1990 and sometime after our first anniversary I visited the cemetery only to discover that my mother died on June 2, 1975. So, what I do is take a few minutes on that day to think of her, I have no memories of her, and then move on to celebrating mine and DH's anniversary. There was one year that I chose to buy a birthday cake to honor my Mother's birthday, but I only did that once. I
  5. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of both people involved. We live off Ridge Road and there are some very bad spots on that road and IMO Nebo is worse. It would be nice to see a major redo of some of these dangerous roads to help prevent such bad accidents.
  6. I took my DS and his friend to Guitar Center in Marietta. DS bought himself a half stack amplifier/speaker thingy. All I can say is that thing is LOUD!!! BTW for all of you riders, do any of you know someone named Kim Neal? I know she rides and has her own Harley, I think that's what her's is. Anyway, just wondering.
  7. I can't stand a thief and I hope who ever took them are found. This happened to someone in my S/D several years ago. The kids that took them lived in here and were hiding them in a S/D near by that was still in the building stage. It was actually the owner who found them, the kids that took them were riding them in the S/D where they were trying to hide them.
  8. Oh my goodness!! I just don't know how she does it, but she has been dealt so much heartache over the last year and a half. Yet she continues on, never failing in her faith and trust in God, but just how much more can she take. I don't know Denise (Butterflynanny), I think that's her username, but my heart is just breaking for her. I will pray for her and the recovery of her husband.
  9. OMG I had no idea that Scalini's and Provino's were owned by the same family. We have GOT to got try out Provino's and see if it compares. My family absolutely loves Scalini's, but it is a bit of a drive from Hiram to Smyrna, especially in afternoon traffic. BTW Scalini's is our favorite Italian restaurant.
  10. We had oyster stew and hot dogs.
  11. Yes!!! I need to get her reservation set up and paid. My DD is over the moon about this. She and her friend love fairies so they are going to go together. My DD is 10 and her friend is 12.
  12. That's very touching and what a beautiful little Chow Chow.
  13. I went to Taco Bell and picked up some really bad for you but so good once in awhile food for dinner.
  14. A guy came to our house this afternoon around 5ish. He said someone in our S/D had placed an order and then stiffed him. So he was willing to sell to us for next to nothing. DH said no thank you and the guy left, he was driving a black truck. We are not comfortable purchasing any food product from anyone selling out of their pick up truck, car, van or whatever. Ain't gonna happen.
  15. It was safe, the Mom used a clothes hanger to attach it to the van after all.
  16. My Dad used to say it the same way as your DH. He was 80 yo, however. He also used to answer the phone "yello" instead of "hello" , it used to get on my nerves when I was a kid. Now I think it's just one of those funny memories.
  17. I think I'm going to make chicken and dumplings. Been wanting them for a few days now just didn't want the big mess.
  18. I received this from a friend and wanted to share it y'all. I hope it's okay that I included the link, it should since it is not for a business. It's called Jump Rope Dance and was performed by King's Firecrackers at an Army-Navy game halftime show in Ohio. It is so cool. http://blip.tv/play/Ae+9MJOSSA
  19. With all that heat, does she have an esophagus and stomach left? J/K, but dang that's unreal that she can do that with those insanely hot peppers. I have a friend whose DS can drink hot sauce too, I just don't see how. No hot stuff for me at all. Heck sometimes mild is too spicy.
  20. I had not heard of this, thank you for making us aware of her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
  21. We had chicken and yellow rice (one dish) and green beans. I did NOT want to cook anything major. I really wanted homemade chicken and dumplings, but then I really wasn't in the mood to roll out dumplings. Lazy Sunday can ya tell?
