  1. A sloppy looking teenaged kid was in the store recently wearing a big 666 on the front of his shirt. Why in the world do folks wear stuff like that? It gave me the creeps.
  2. Best thing to do is go in and sit down with the folks at the credit union. CD's aren't paying much right now, but the money is guaranteed.
  3. Another 50 "new" folks started this week.
  4. Gunsmoke was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I especially liked Marshal Dillon, Miss Kitty and Festus. Did you know James Arness was a World War 2 veteran who was wounded in the Anzio Invasion in Italy?

  6. My Brother-in-law was stationed in DC for the Marines. He lived between WoodBridge & Occoquan. It's pretty nice up there.
  7. i like Mrs. Winners...When will they be reopening?????
  8. Hang in there Thad...Eventually you will win the suit and the Paulding County Commission will pay dearly for their arrogance. I hate to say it, but when folks started voting for Republicans, the working class people started getting screwed. Every local school board and county commission in the region that is being lead by republicans somehow have to furlough employees and screw senior citizens to make up for their own financial incompetence. The fat cat developers have long supported the republican politicians who keep sticking it to the little guy. This is a classic case of rich man vs.
  9. unfortunately at White Water, the fat chicks with jailhouse tattoos outnumber the hotties by a wide margin...
  10. In my high school (Wills) most of my friends loved LOUD heavy metal hard rock music. Now years later, I have trouble hearing. Duh also, I was kind of mouthy. Now when one of my teens nut up on me, I can just hear my mama say you'll be paying for your raising. She was right.
  11. Do all republicans cheat on their wives?
  12. I don't know why folks have to drink to have a good time. Life is much more productive if you're sober. So for those who want to drink, whether it's a sip or to get smashed, try doing without any booze for 6 months and just see if you're really addicted to it or not. You might be surprised how strong a hold the alcohol has on you. And as far as the Sunday Sales argument, I vote NO, not just because it's Sunday, but because I have never seen one good thing come out of a bottle of booze. I am proud to say that I attend church on Sunday and my grandfather was a minister who strongly believ
  13. The governor signed the bill allowing local communities to vote on allowing Sunday alcohol sales. Some are thrilled beyond measure, yet I am deeply saddened. I firmly believe the number of DUI's and fatal accidents will increase substantially. The business community wants Sunday Booze, the public wants it, and if the truth was known, many funeral directors want it too. I had a family member killed some years ago by a drunk driver. You can't undo it once it happens. Why do folks have to get boozed up anyways? If you've ever known firsthand the pain of losing someone because of someone
  14. I look for Obama to get reelected in a landslide.
  15. When pay for police officers gets cut, the number of citations written goes down. It's been shown in many jurisdictions that is true. Also, complaints tend to go up as a result of "attitudes". Best way to resolve that is for the elected officials not to dump on the police or other public servants.
  16. Went to Kirklands this weekend and we bought a candle. That's a pretty nice store.
  17. http://www.smokeonthelakebbq.com/ I surfed across this link and think I may throw my hat into the ring. I'm especially good at BBQ chicken, slow cooked in a sweet honey based sauce. I like some of the sauces that are tangy or smoky, but the sweet stuff is my favorite by far. I don't particularly care for the flaming hot and spicy stuff. I also love BBQ ribs, but haven't quite got them down to the fall off the bone, they tend to be a little tougher to cook than chicken and frankly my ribs need help big time. The kids always like my burgers, dogs and smoked sausage, but I've got a weak
  18. The op is filing a lawsuit against Paulding County. Perhaps the jury can decide how much of your tax money and mine can be thrown out the window because of our incompetent public officials. Charges were dropped, so in fact not everyone arrested should have been arrested. It goes to show you that the tight ship you refer to has a few holes in it. I hope the op hits the jackpot with the jury.
  19. I'd like to see what tune you sing when it's you or your loved one thrown in the can. Not everyone who gets arrested by our bass-ackwards sheriff's office is a lowlife scum sucking maggot.
  20. I'm glad all charges were dismissed. If I'm ever on a jury here in Paulding, I will find the defendant not guilty just to poke a stick in the eye of the DA's office. They are so arrogant and condescending it is pathetic. I'm wondering, which DA handled your case? I was glad to see Drew Lane get defeated in the last election and I think many cases are weak at best and should be dead docketed or dismissed outright due to our court system being overwhelmed. Perhaps you can give us here more details on your case. My son's case dragged on for a year and a half but was ultimately dismissed. It makes
  21. Under Jerry Shearin's regime, the developers pretty much ran this county and ran roughshod over anyone who opposed them. I'm really surprised Mr. Austin hasn't tried for a settlement.
  22. My son is currently taking Calculus at Southern Polytechnic State University. He's studying to become an engineer. He's doing o.k. so far, but is buried in homework morning, noon, and night. Why not type the math problem here on paulding.com and see if there are any math folks here who can answer the problem?
  23. They just posted the victim's name on ajc.com http://www.ajc.com/news/cobb/dallas-woman-dies-in-908129.html
