I bought an ax and some tools from a vendor at the Premier Flea Market storage buildings in Douglasville. I also like Bill's Flea Market in Lithia Springs....parking can be a pain at times, but they have a wide variety of flea market stuff. I generally look for tools, saws, drills, etc. Sometimes you can catch a good bargain, but sometimes it's junk. Pot-luck I suppose. My wife bought a crock pot for around $4 and it works just fine. Also, my son is into old coins and there's usually a vendor with old coins, baseball cards, etc. I'm a flea market fanatic and I usually go at least once a ye

Secret meetings, code names, forgetting about minutes
Coppertop's Pop replied to tundra's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Todd was deliberately kept in the dark by David Austin. David implied on video that Todd couldn't be trusted. Well I'd trust Todd any day of the week over David Austin. David simply lied to us all by promising one thing, yet doing another. Bottom line: Boot all of them out (except Todd). -

There are parts of Atlanta with multi million dolllar mansions and country clubs and great homes and great schools (North Fulton, Roswell, East Cobb, Etc.) Do you really even need to ask why the areas near the airport look like a ghetto? The question is do you want that element coming to Hiram and Dallas ? I'd like to vote for the candidate who doesn't want Paulding County turning into the Ghetto. Many brand new apartment complex communities start out nice, yet within a decade, they're full of riff raff, crime, drugs, etc. Look right here in Dallas behind the old Huddle House. Do you really w

If you've been around Forest Park, Riverdale, Jonesboro, etc, you see what the term Ghetto means.... burglar bars on most homes and businesses...wonder why? The airport brought along with it MARTA transportation right into once nice neighborhoods, and those neighborhoods soon had a lot of vacant homes....wonder why? CRIME...DRUGS...PROSTITUTION...CORRUPTION.... Folks, particularly educated white folks got the heck out of there...wonder why? Clayton County is 90% black... folks don't want to say it, but areas with higher number of black folks, have a higher crime rate...wonder why? Do you ser

I'm totally against commercialization of Silver Comet Field. My wife grew up in Clayton County and I can say the airport literally has ruined Clayton County, Forest Park, Riverdale, Jonesboro, etc. In Clayton County, crime is up, property values are down, the towns are full of used car lots, pawn shops, check cashers, prostitutes, jiggly rooms, and other riff raff that has a negative impact on the community. I don't want that coming to my neighborhood here in Paulding County. Do you know which candadates currently running for office are against the commercialization of the airport? I'd

I plan to vote against the folks who support the airport. Can someone post which candidates support having 737's land in Paulding so David Austin can get a kickback? and which candidates don't want to ruin the quality of life for thousands of people?

Which of the candidates opposes commercialization of the airport? I'd like to support them. Those who favor allowing 737's to land in Paulding County will not get my vote.

I always use Italian dressing and a touch of the McCormick's seasoning. I try to cook the chicken on the top shelf, low flame. My wife likes chicken breasts, but I prefer the leq quarters. Either way, the key is low heat. If the grill is too hot, your chicken will taste like wood. Also, every time I cook chicken, I always put a brat or sausage on there too. When the sausage splits open and the juice hits the flame, it will char the food just a bit to give a perfect grilled flavor. Warm pretty days like today make me want to fire up the grill.

I call BS on this.... The sheriff is the most powerful elected official in any county and can open an investigation and review the evidence. -
TX Sportscaster's take on Micheal Sam.
Coppertop's Pop replied to cookies are sweet's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I suspect many teams who need a star defensive player will pass on Michael Sam because of the potential media distraction as well as potential team backlash. Football is a team sport, but when one player gets all the focus, it takes away from the total team effort. -

David Austin wouldn't have won the election if he'd ran on the platform of bringing commercial airline service to Paulding. He ran on openness and honesty and transparency. His dealings have been anything but open, honest and transparent. David has attacked Todd Pownall implying Todd couldn't be trusted, yet it is David who cannot be trusted to tell the truth. Bottom line is I am strongly opposed to commercialization of Paulding County and am hoping Delta's and Atlanta's attorneys are much better than the cable guy from Dallas. I'd rather the lawyers bill us for a few million bucks -

The drive down Nebo from Bill Carruth till you get past the swamp was especially slick. Several cars had been abandoned on the side of the road, a couple in the ditch. It's still nasty out there. -

What are your thoughts regarding the 2015 Ford F-150
Coppertop's Pop replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I currently have a 2006 Ford with the V8 Triton engine. It has plenty of horsepower to pull/haul just about anything, however my main gripe is it drinks a whole lot of gas...a whole lot. I sold my chevy which had a 35 gallon fuel tank, but my Ford which drinks more gas only has a 27 gallon tank, which means many more stops at the gas pump. The Ford seems like a much better truck, but the only downside is the fuel economy. I've never owned a Dodge Truck, but I like the option of getting a Diesel in a half-ton model. I've never owned a Diesel, but many folks say they're much better. I hav -
What are your thoughts regarding the 2015 Ford F-150
Coppertop's Pop posted a topic in RECENT TOPICS
The last thing Ford wants is to deter loyal F-Series buyers because of its recent gamble to remove as much as 700 pounds by substituting aluminum for steel in the truck body. How can a truck that's 700 pounds lighter do the work of a traditional truck? Also, if two trucks collide, the lighter one would generally come up on the losing end of things. Wouldn't a heavier truck have a better crash test rating? The plus side to the new aluminum F-150 would be better fuel efficiency. But is better fuel economy the only reason to buy this truck? Initial estimates show there will be extra cost -
Folks may or may not want to admit it, but areas with higher percentages of non-white residents tend to have a higher violent crime rate, poorer performing schools, higher taxes, etc. My wife grew up in Clayton County. During the 70's and 80's, they experienced exponential growth in non-white residents. The white folks moved farther down the road to get away from the blacks, and drugs, gangs and crime. Where I grew up in Smyrna, the area has been inundated by minorities (Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, etc.) Again the schools in these areas had the lowest test scores and the crime statistics w
