My wife and I spent a couple of days at DeSoto State Park in Northeast Alabama this week. The weather was perfect and the leaves were at their peak. We drove through Little River Canyon and up to DeSoto Falls. We did see a small brown fox and two deer along with a few hawks. We had a great time hiking through the woods and enjoying nature. Valley Head and Mentone are really nice this time of year. Tomorrow it's back to work though.

Notice of Open Records Request

Judge Beavers is the Chief Judge in Paulding County, meaning he's been a Superior Court Judge for many, many years. While I may not agree with some of the decisions he's made, time and again, he'll often throw a man in jail who refuses to pay child support rather than slapping them on the wrist. When it comes to child support, men will either pay up or sit in jail...their choice. Judge Beavers generally will rule in favor of the woman. As far as this particular case goes, if Judge Beavers rules against the woman, generally there's a valid reason why. Perhaps the mother is unfit or unabl -
My son has an F150 with the Triton V8 engine. That's been an awesome truck, my only problem is it drinks lots and lots of gas. (13-14 mpg) We always use Mobile-1 Full Synthetic oil and have had absolutely no problems whatsoever. It's got close to 150,000 miles on it and it's a very dependable truck. My Chevy has less than 70,000 miles on it and I'm just about ready to junk it. It leaks water, a friend said the red dexcool antifreeze is what eats away the gaskets and to switch to the green prestone. I just bought a new starter, no big deal I suppose. The oil pressure switch went bad, the ai

I sent you a message rather than posting phone numbers here. I do remember when this happened. I was a young kid back then, but those kinds of memories last a lifetime. -
Dr. Bickford is an awesome dentist. His number is 770/445/6606. It is in Dallas, but well worth it.

The Falcons ain't looking too good in pre-season
Coppertop's Pop replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Well I was predicting a 9 win season for the Falcons, but I may have to revise my prediction. They'll be lucky to win 5 games. Injuries on both offense and defense have really hurt them so far. -
Kennesaw State University and SPSU To Merge
Coppertop's Pop replied to NewsJunky's topic in RECENT TOPICS
SPSU is primarily a science & technology school. My son will be graduating from SPSU in 2014 with a degree in Mechatronics Engineering. Generally, graduates from SPSU can design and build nearly anything... Mechatronics Engineering is synergistic integration of mechanical engineering with electronics and intelligent computer control in the design and manufacturing of industrial products and processes: Modeling and Design, Motion Control, System Integration, Vibration and Noise Control, Actuators and Sensors, Micro Devices & Optoelectronic Systems, Intelligent Control, Automotive System -

My son also goes to Southern Poly... I'm not too thrilled about the merge. -
Be sure to go and buy some batteries for your smoke alarm this week and be sure not to forget to Fall Back. Adjust your clock Saturday when you go to bed. I'm already looking forward to that extra hour of sleep!

I don't currently like Kasim Reed, however if he can somehow stop 737's from landing in Paulding County, I'll be his #1 fan!

I suppose I enjoyed it for a while, but I just don't see what the big deal is about facebook. I deleted my profile and de-activated my account. It just ain't my cup of tea. I don't use twitter or cell phones or texting or Ipods either. What's the big deal about all those gadgets? I like simplicity in my life, like a good cup of coffee to go with the morning newspaper while I'm sitting on the porch listening to the birds. Simplicity is good...like an old fashioned birthday card rather than a tweet or a text. Even cable tv has hundreds of shows and many times there's literally nothing

Dirty David Austin left the Commissioners meeting rather quickly last evening...at least the others stayed around and talked to the voters. I will be voting AGAINST Dirty David Austin.
-
Sure, we didn't elect Reed, but since when do votes matter? Money talks....The citizens voted against this airport, but you see the fat cats with fat wallets pushed it right down our throat! I'm fed up!

After this evening's commission meeting, Chairman Dirty David Austin was the 1st to leave (and he left rather quickly). At least the others hung around for a few minutes talking to the folks. I'd like to recall Dirty David Austin and I'd like for the City of Atlanta and Delta Airlines to fight hard to stop this airport fiasco. Mayor Reed has more pull with the folks at the FAA than Dirty David Austin.

good luck dealing with the Paulding County Marshal's office. They are lazy and unresponsive...been there, done that!

Capitalizing on Paulding's Airport ? Yes, No, Maybe
Coppertop's Pop replied to surepip's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Laura, Each one of the above-mentioned statements are laughable. 1st. In the video of the heated exchange between David Austin and Todd Pownall, Mr. Austin said Todd was notified of the deal. Ding Ding Ding. Lie #1 2nd. Are you serious when you say the 4 commissioners won't personally benefit? Ever heard of campaign contributions? I suspect each of the 4 airport support will benefit immensely. Lie #2 3rd. Selfish? The airport only benefits very few well connected individuals. Former Speaker Richardson worked out a deal at the state level to ram this airport up our nose even thoug -
Capitalizing on Paulding's Airport ? Yes, No, Maybe
Coppertop's Pop replied to surepip's topic in Paulding County NEWS
David Austin was not being truthful regarding the emails. Check out this link http://ponytailpatriot.com/section-blog/180-emails-don-t-reveal-information-on-airport-deal-in-paulding-county He and three other commissioners made a "secret" deal and kept Todd in the blind. I will vote AGAINST david austin. -
How do we go about recalling chairman (dirty) David Austin? How many signatures are needed to start the process? Anyone know? Anyone want to stand up and say Enough is Enough!

Capitalizing on Paulding's Airport ? Yes, No, Maybe
Coppertop's Pop replied to surepip's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I am 100 % against having large jets land in Paulding County and I'd like to recall David Austin for this sneaky, in your face despicable act. Dirty David Austin has screwed the western half of the county for the next 50 years. -
Airport meeting on WSB News
Coppertop's Pop replied to when pigs fly's topic in Paulding County NEWS
http://www.ajc.com/ap/ap/transportation/plan-to-expand-airport-operations-in-paulding-co/nbFkb/ Accoring to the AJC: The project drew immediate criticism from Delta Air Lines CEO Richard Anderson, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "With the city of Atlanta and Mayor (Kasim) Reed, we will work together to oppose any investment in that facility," Anderson told the newspaper. Delta has opposed the idea of a second commercial airport in metro Atlanta. "Hartsfield-Jackson is the best, most important airport in the Southeast, if not in the United States," Anderson
