I wasn't able to attend the BOC meeting and was seeing if there were any updates regarding the airport debacle.

He's a serious question. Federal Courts have ruled two men can marry in all 50 states, regardless of how each state feels about it. All local laws outlawing that are null and void. The marriage license is recognized in all 50 states. Same with a driver's license, if you have a drivers license in Georgia, you can drive in all 50 states. Why is it that if you have a gun license/ permit valid in one state, the permit isn't valid in all 50 states? If you have a right to keep and bear arms, why is it if you have a license to carry in Georgia, if you travel with a gun to New jersey, their

Shouldn't the Marshal's office be pro-active in keeping our county clean? They won't bother enforcing the laws on the books unless a complaint form is filled out.... perhaps we should just contact the commissioners directly and then THEY can call the Marshal. Let's start posting pictures as well as the names and addresses of the property owners who junk up the roads and subdivisions. A picture posted of Sanford & Sons yard full of junk cars, appliances and so forth might get the Marshal's attention. Perhaps pubby could create a new forum. . By the way, I voted for Ron Davis, since

We have an occasional litterbug throw out beer cans and Krystal boxes in my yard. As annoying as that is, it's much less of an eyesore than having Sanford and Son at the front of the subdivision for the whole world to see. I'm not trying to bash David Austin, just wondering why a law enforcement officer (The Marshal) won't enforce the law unless a complaint form is filled out. Too much red tape. perhaps they should do away with the Marshal's office and assign those duties to the Sheriff's Office. Those deputies folks don't mind handing out tickets.

We're not talking litter on the roadside, I'm talking about junk in a residential neighborhood. My neighbor has a friggin oven sitting in his front yard. an oven. Along with a dishwasher, old junk cars and various kinds of junk like Sanford and Son, but the Marshal wants you to go to the web site, download a form and submit it. the form REQUIRES you to put your name, address phone number, type of complaint, etc. Suppose you complain and the guy who has junk all over his yard tries to burn your house down. there are some kooks out there who'd do such a thing...all the while, the Marshal is sit

We have a neighbor who has junk all over the yard, but since it's private property, the Marshal's Office wants you to submit a complaint form and you must indicate your name,. address, phone #, etc or they won't investigate the complaint. Why won't the Marshal be pro-active rather than re-active? If a police officer sees a car with a brake light out, they'll pull it over and issue paperwork. But the Marshal, who is a sworn law enforcement officer, won't issue a citation without a private citizen first filing a complaint. THAT'S BASS ACKWARDS. If they see a yard full of dishwashers,

http://www.ajc.com/news/news/crime-law/riverdale-police-officer-shot-in-clayton-county/nqNdW/ Clayton County police officers tried to serve a no-knock drug warrant about 11:15 a.m. at the Villages on the River, an apartment complex in the 6600 block of Church Street, Clayton police Chief Michael Register told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The officer knocked on the suspect’s front door. Instead of surrendering, the suspect ran out a back door. “He ran approximately 100 to 200 feet from the incident location and we had officers from Riverdale on the perimeter,” Register said. “He conf

Ron Davis is running, but I don't know who else is..... here's a link to his web page http://electrondavis.com/issues/ Paulding County Airport I fully support development of the airport as a general aviation airport. We need to attract companies to bring good engineering and manufacturing jobs to the county. There is a lot of that in the aerospace industry, and Paulding County is a good place for them. On the issue of passenger flights, we are too close to ATL to compete as a viable alternative. No airline operating from PUJ will be able to compete longterm with the prices or flight

The Beginning of the End for Airport Expansion?

Sounds like David and his buddies will screw the taxpayers a while longer. the Airport Authority needs to be dissolved. -
HPD Four arrested in Hiram car theft ring
Coppertop's Pop replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
Isn't it racist these days to mention there were 4 black males arrested? Some politically correct news outlets omit mentioning the race of the suspects if they are black. -
My neighbor has a rooster and it's wide awake and crowing at 5:00 in the morning on Christmas Day. Oh the joy of living in Paulding County. Merry Christmas folks. maybe Santa left me a BB gun under the tree

Newly Announced Candidate for BOC Chairman

I wonder if he opposes commercialization of the airport. -
Please, The old Paulding .com, come back.....
Coppertop's Pop replied to JSC's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I miss the good ol' days too. We need more updates on road construction (or lack thereof), more info on our school system, more info on our local economy and less ramblings of an old post office wannabe. We need threads about people accomplishing great things. Good news for a change rather than all the bickering. -
Paulding's issues. Why can't we do better?

I do wish several used car lots would go out of business. The used car lot going towards the Post Office on Merchant's Drive. It's an old house with cars parked all over the yard and an outdoor garage area...That place is a total dump. Also, the one back towards New Canaan Church, at Wilbanks Circle there are oil sicks all up on the road where those beaters are worked on and sold for weekly payments. It's a total dump. And let's not forget the run down area past the old courthouse in Dallas on Merchant's Drive. That whole end of town needs to be revitalized. Surely, the Austin brothers -
I went to the hearing last evening regarding the FAA environmental assessment. Regardless of how you feel, this issue is dividing the community. Folks on both sides of the issue spoke passionately either for or against approval of the 139 FAA certificate. We'll have to wait until the lawyers bleed us for a few more bucks to find out one way or another. There are many issues which have a negative impact on a community, many are more important in my view than an airport. Have you considered why Georgia is 49th in education? Why does Paulding County allow Pawn Shops, Tattoo Parlors, junky us

A judge will surely find the Airport Authority filed the 139 Application WITHOUT the BOC approval and the public vote from the BOC was officially opposed to commercialization. I think David Austin goofed up legally, and his supporters don't have the deep pockets that Delta, the City of Atlanta and the commercialization opponents have. This might drag on for another 20 years and then I'll be outta here and won't have to worry about it. I love it. I should have been a politician.

http://www.youtube.com/attribution_link?a=jppZfbrxDwY&u=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DDmJngarnRrk&feature=em-upload_owner The BOC voted to file a Declaratory Judgement Lawsuit against the Airport Authority to determine if the AA had the authority to file the 139 Application WITHOUT the BOC approval! Go get 'em, boys – well done!! And you can't help but notice the woman who served Commissioners Crowe, Collett and Pownall with papers as soon as they came back in from Closed Session. Apparently, they were served with something... perhaps an invitation to the county party for voting to sue the AA?! S

I will vote against the candidate who supports commercialization... so I cannot support Carmichael.

My wife grew up in Clayton County and graduated from Riverdale High. Many of the apartment homes went from very nice to Section 8 and then came the crime, drugs and violence. Next thing you know, Section 8 went to individual houses, not just apartments, then the entire neighborhood gets blighted and run down. (two or three crack houses can ruin a whole street)... then we get the check cashers, title pawn shops, liquor stores, weekly rental hotels and of course the buy-here pay-here junky used car lots. All up and down Tara blvd, Riverdale Rd, Highway 85, Highway 138, Old Dixie highway, and so
